Popped into Aldi today and the place was plastered with pink notices saying you weren't allowed to eat the food in there without a valid receipt for purchase, as it would be regarded as theft!
Had trouble with self service machine as the alarm went off a few times. Left feeling like I was going to be pounced on for shoplifting as I left the store. 😬
Hate it when you see people opening things and eating as go round many a time I've seen half opened sandwiches left on shelfs

These are so good !! These are Lidl, Aldi also do a version but they are much milder. This is the first thing I’ve eaten today (healthy!) so I’m convincing myself that 480 cals for the whole pack is perfectly fine !!

If anyone saw a middle aged woman doing a happy dance in the Aldi car park today, it was me. I nipped in for a few essentials and spotted the jumbo dupe of M&S's mountain bar 🥳 Managed to restrict myself to 2 but may go back for more 🤭

I got a free olive sourdough stick today with my Lidl card and the dog scoffed it while I was bringing in stuff from the car.

I was looking forward to that. Better get a decent offer on my Lidl card tomorrow.

I bought some of the cheaper chocs/sweets from Aldi to put in with presents for kids and I’ve ate them all 😂😂😂
The red packaged bars which are around £1 are actually really good, they have a Christmas theme on the bar.

Right, I should never have went to lidl this morning 😂😂 haven’t been in ages as I tend to go to aldi mostly. Seen over socials (ireland) that they were bringing back toffee yum yum pastries. How bloody nice are they! I now have an obsession so next time I’m not just gonna buy 2 and share with my child 😂😂 I even debated getting more this morning and I was like “i probably won’t like them I’ll just get 2” NO I was wrong 😭 so delicious with a cup of tea.
Between this thread and the M&S thread ive become addicted to chocolate covered nuts of multiple varieties and pastries galore

Nah I’m English so I say ‘Liddle’ and ‘Parriss’ and ‘Spain’ rather than how the natives pronounce them.

Slight tangent but isn’t it odd how TK Maxx is TJ Maxx in America? I wonder why.
They changed it to TK Maxx to avoid confusion with TJ Hughes

I bought every member of the family a Bakewell blondie this morning thanks to this thread. Long story short: the over 45s loved them, the under 20s not so much.
I picked an end piece today, even yummier! I bought a bit for my husband as well, but I've not told him about it yet. I might "forget".

This bag is absolutely gorgeous. Done them in the airfryer for about 20 minutes or so at 180. So nice, I’d be buying again.

Our Aldi is really clean and Lidl is a mess - suppose it depends on what you buy, near me they are both about the same age, one new build and Aldi extended and a refit. Before we moved here I always shopped in Lidl but have to go on the bus to it and Aldi is down the road so have got used to Aldi now but I don't have a problem with it except there is no bakery which I like in Lidl and their big vine tomatoes. :)
I've had the same experience. I remember a refit in an Aldi store in the last few years reminded me of a Marks and Spencer store.
I really think it depends on the clientele and management.
I've just found a nice Aldi where the clientele are lovely and don't barge you or intimidate you to hurry up, and the store has a nice atmosphere and is tidy. Bliss! 😁

I was annoyed today because I wasn’t paying attention and bought the salami pizza instead of the nduja one that I had an offer for (I don’t eat ready meals so it’s a rare splurge for me!) but then won £10 off my next shop in the spins 🥳

My local Aldi had loads of party food half price today - all dated 1st Jan or later so ideal for NYE
I have been today and got some nice buffet things for guests tomorrow. I also got several rolls of the fully recyclable wrapping paper 45p (nice thick brown printed kind) and these cute little guys for 79p!. Yaaas Aldi.

I buy the Aldi Cucina Tomato & Basil stir in pasta sauce for when I cba. It’s really nice. And honestly takes 10 mins. It’s my go to for when my husband is away & I absolutely can’t not be bothered to make tea / on the verge of ringing a takeaway. I even fling a bit of bistro salad & balsamic in the pasta bowl if I’m feeling virtuous!
