We had a recipe kit thing tonight from Aldi. It was a Thai red curry one, and i got it from the middle aisle ages ago.
I used tofu, mushrooms and pak Choi, and it was really good. Will be on the lookout for it again.
Had it with Aldi coconut rice which is a staple in our house.
They are now on the shelves near to the packs of rice if they are the same as I bought today ( in mine they are). There was Red, Green and Pad Thai kits and they are £1.99. I buy all the flavoured rice packs but never seen the Lime and Coriander one and that would be my favourite, I have had all the boxes off the shelves to see if they are at the back and no luck. Are they in their own box or mixed with others and somebody has already had them all. 😭 😭 😭
I got a small square jar of chopped ginger from the middle isle today for 99p and there is loads in it, it looks like it has been cut on a spiraliser and I could happily sit here and dip into it whilst reading, going back for some more tomorrow before they sell out.

Great haul from Lidl. Fridge and freezer full. We have a gousto delivery tomorrow. Don’t know where we’re going to find room for it in the fridge😅

Popped to Aldi as well for some bits.
got wine chocolate and SS chicken kievs.

Meant to say, as well as the coconut rice from Aldi, which I love, the lime and coriander one is gorgeous as well. We often have that with chilli or nachos.
I always have a stash of their pouches of rice in the cupboard.
So that's why my Lidl was nearly empty! 🤷😉
ETA - confession - I've eaten nearly a tub of Aldi hummus today even though I don't normally like chickpeas and I've had the falafel, which I think were butternut squash and something else and they were nice too............. Off to do 25 hail Mary's.....

I saw a Facebook post recently of a jar of spread in Lidl that is the same as the creamy inside of a Kinder Bueno, has anyone tried it?? I friggin love a Bueno but my Lidl is the opposite direction to anywhere I really go and I don't want to make a trip to end in disappointment 😂
It’s the Italian version tye spread it’s just like Bueno in have had to hide it

I’ve tried the Lidl and Asda version of the bueno spread. Honestly although it’s expensive the M&S one is definitely the best!

When the flavour first came out I always used to see them mixed in with piri piri I think, there would be one pack of lime and coriander per box and it would be a fight to the death to get your hands on it. Then after a while - in my area at least - lime got its own box. It’s delicious, I hope you can find some!

Also this Bueno spread sounds dangerous! I’m glad I didn’t know about it while Italian week was on. Now I’m going to have to exercise superhuman levels of self restraint if I see it today. Hopefully they’ve switched to Japanese week and all the Italian stuff will be gone lol. I wish they would do some kind of mochi - proper stuff not the ice cream kind, I can never find it anywhere. Saw some on Sainsbury’s website but it wasn’t in my local.

@rivermonster, The lime and coriander rice in my Aldi is usually a few mixed in with other rices. It doesn’t have a box of its own like the others.
Hope you find some.

Right! So after Lidl trip last night I got from the Japanese section: spicy vegetarian gyoza (gorgeous), udon noodles (not my fave, I prefer the fatter ones which are like worms) and as some Italian stuff was still there, almond biscuits stuffed with pistachio paste (nice)

@Tangent Tiger These are the best wormy large udon, great price compared to £2.25 for the Amoy version which I'm sure are the same. Often sold out so I stock up.

Ooh!! 👀 Now I have to go in search! Was it just on the shelves with the other Japanese food items?? Or was it the sorbet ones in the freezer?

In my Lidl it was where all the sauces, noodles, sushi stuff, ginger jars etc was for the Japanese week, not in the freezer (I did see the freezer ones too)
They had three flavours I think, matcha, peanut and can remember the third one

In fact, here they are
