I've just come back from Aldi, the self service tills were better than Sainsbury's. The staff were more attentive and I hardly had to wait at all, but in Sainsbury's 2 staff members will be actively avoiding the gaze of a struggling customer!

Picked up some lovely handwash and was tempted to get the Sanctuary dupe shower gel. Has anybody tried it?
Yes the shower gel is lovely and smells exactly the same in my opinion

Speaking of the blondies in all their delicious almond glory, I had a Lidl marzipan log left from Christmas so we finally tried it and it was SO disappointing. It didn’t taste of anything! Maybe it was just old. 😆

We had 6 blondies between us 2 this week, I need to be stopped. I absolutely love classic Bakewell pudding but I haven’t lived there for years now and I miss it! The blondies have been strangely comforting. Does anyone have recommendations for when they leave us? 😭 I don’t like the Mr Kipling variants with icing.

Grab those bakewell blondies while you can, the cashier told me the vile chocolate chip ones are coming back
ETA Atleast I won't have to split my loyalties between the bakewell blondie and the ultimate chocolate one

Bake your own?!
My mum makes a 'cheat frangipane' using semolina and almond essence...

I can now see what all the chat is about, picked us all up a Bakewell blondie earlier. Have scoffed mine and am eyeing up the one I bought my son. Must get back over there and buy more 😍

I’m desperate to try the chocolate cronut but my store never has it in! They have the ticket out on display but it’s always just jam doughnuts in its place 😭😭 which I do love too, admittedly, but I want the cronut!!
I had one today, it was yum

Is anybody a seasoned user of the Aldi jo malone dupe diffusers? I’ve always really liked them; would get wafts when I walked close by and could really smell them as soon as I came home from a couple of days away. The last 3 lots I’ve had were new smells (to me at least) but I don’t feel like I’ve been able to smell them at all, the reeds have seemed different and they’ve taken ages to get used up. I’m assuming it’s down to the reeds (they seemed thinner and had bits broken off straight out the packet)? Anyone else noticed a change or will my default pomegranate be a winner after a few duds?

I'm currently using up an Aldi reed diffuser in the bathroom and unfortunately I haven't been able to smell this so won't repurchase. I also bought the Aldi Lime, Basil and Mandarin diffuser refill and couldn't smell this either. I think Aldi have reduced the quality while keeping prices the same.

ah that’s a real shame. I think I’ll buy some reeds see if that helps as I already have one more set and a pomegranate refill bottle in the house. I clocked the reeds seeming different as soon as I opened them but didn’t think too much of it until I broke out another set and they were the same. Took a while for it to dawn on me that the scent wasn’t there and then I realised how long they were taking to get finished up.

I’m somewhat hopeful the scent will still be decent with some better reeds as Ive always moved them into the conservatory once they’re finished and the sun manages to extract the last from them in the enclosed space - the last few sets have been the same as usual in the conservatory, just useless in the actual house

I'm so glad that you mentioned this. I've noticed a big change in the scents recently as well. I adore no.22 with sweet almond and always had them dotted around the house, they smelt divine. Bought some late last year when they came in as a special buy and they're just not the same. My husband (who never, ever notices these things) said there was an awful smell in the downstairs loo and pointed out the diffuser. It wasn't rank, but it smells weird. Just to add, I decant them into a different bottle and use different reeds so I don't think the reeds are the problem.

ah that’s the end of them then. No 22 is the first duff one I bought summer last year - I’d never had that one before but I just couldn’t smell it at all.

what a shame! I’ve tried other brands, including others from aldi, and thought they were all rubbish compared to these so I’ve been exclusively buying these for a long while now.

ETA actually now I think about it the printing on the bottles, where the scent name is, was half worn off on all the duff ones too. I hope they’re saving enough costs to make up for all the lost sales 😂😂😂

Pecksniff reeds and candles - avaiable in TK Maxx a lot - give great scent payoff. They're not dupes for anything but I think they're a decent candle.

Didn’t like the Lidl Bakewell Blondies but loved the chocolate cronut. Absolutely delicious.

Finally got my hands on a chocolate cronut. Unfortunately I got the last one at 6pm so it had been there a while and I think it was a little stale. Going to have to reserve judgement for a fresher one!
