The cheese and chive one is good too!!I’m sure more places than Lidl do this but I’ve discovered this recently and I’m obsessed, now having one pot a day which I’m sure is incredibly unhealthy
It’s sooooo good, I’ve always been put off by cottage cheese so never tried it but this is amazing

Nipped into a Lidl as I was nearby and ended up winning a free bakery pretzel. Can't complain as that's one of my favourite items from there.
We got a brand new Lidl in our town last year, beautiful building and everything was so fresh and clean, it was a pleasure to shop there. Fast forward a few months and the place is filthy

We are using up stuff in the freezer in an attempt to save some money this month on groceries and clear some space.
Tonight is all Aldi food. I just realised when I laid it out to cook.
We’re having the no duck spring rolls, the no chicken balls, sweet and sour sauce and egg fried rice.
Also some me Aldi Pinot Grigio

This is what I said recently - our extended Aldi is lovely and the new Lidl is mucky with no self serves so have to wait for ages to buy a bottle of wine and a kg of tomatoes so am not going there much these days.We got a brand new Lidl in our town last year, beautiful building and everything was so fresh and clean, it was a pleasure to shop there. I'm really fancying those Aldi dupes of Cadbury's snap crisps. I think that's what they were called basically chocolate Pringles 
Aldi seem to have addressed the long waiting at checkouts for basket purchases with the addition of self service in many places.
Lidl still not seem to offer self service at any I've visited.
At Aldi I have seen some attempt to put a full trolley of goods through the self service till.
Although I like Lidl for their prices and simplicity, I do find it a bit much queuing for 10 minutes just to buy a bottle of wine, or a couple of small purchases. This is something they really need to address.

£3.25 for a 75cl bottle of wine in this day and age.
Ridiculously cheap! More so considering it is a 'specially selected' premium offering.
When I checked the Waitrose website the other day, prices started at £5.99 for a 75cl bottle.

I love these. The orange ones especially.
My Lidl which is only about two years old and decent has had a revamp with a lot more produce (looks more like Aldi with pricing tickets too) and new bigger freezers. Except now it hasn't stocked the frozen garlic & herbs kebab style chicken thighs/ the peri peri version too. I had to go to another town to the closest Aldi to get their peri peri version. I hope it's a temporary issue due to new freezers etc.
I’m absolutely obsessed with the lemon and herb yellowfin sole from Aldi freezer section lately. Have it at least twice a week 
I know it says 2 on the pack but are they a decent size or do you eat them both? Would there be enough for 2 of us. Never noticed those and I do buy quite a bit of fish but there has been lots of days when there has been 30% off salmon first thing in the morning so have been buying that. My OH and I have one each with veggies and potatoes or rice. They aren’t huge pieces of fish but I don’t think I could eat both in one sitting - he might be able to. I tend to get a bit peckish in the evening afterwards lol. The coating is a very light crumb.
They also do lemon and herb Basa with a tempura batter coating, those are a larger size with nice flavour on the coating but the fish itself is bland imo.
My Lidl is clean and has only one cashier and loads of self-service tills, whereas the Aldi is dark and dingy with stuff all over the place. It's a nighmare to shop there and then there are no self-service tills so you have to join an endless queue for your turn to have your purchases hurled through while you race to pack them in time.
Funny how different they are. I now only go to Aldi if I have to (or if I read about something amazing on here), whereas I look forward to going to Lidl (tragic, yes), especially when their app is giving me free stuff every time. I currently have a free maple pecan plait with my name on it, although I need to go to the gym tomorrow if I am to deserve it.

I went to Aldi today for a top up shop, and I have to say it is so much more expensive than lidl
Do you think Aldi is more expensive for anything in particular? I live closer to Aldi but might have to have a look in Lidl.
Which? compares the prices of supermarkets every month - Aldi was the cheapest during 11 out of 12 months in 2023. It was also the cheapest in January 2024.
(The difference is only a couple of quid, though, and I’m sure there’s a select few items that are more expensive in Aldi.)
