Agree re Aldi. Their shops are always really dirty and I don’t like their stuff.

its like walking into a warehouse, or Homebase/B&Q with a food section.
I’d look in the bakery section expecting to find wood chippings on the donuts of a spirit level under an apple turnover , they’re all so cold and chaotic.
Want a tin of sweetcorn? I mean obviously you’ll find it beside the reed diffusers next to the dog bowls. It smells a bit like piss there but just ignore it. Now go queue for 45 minutes because we only have one till open, the checkout guy hasn’t a word of English, and he’s on his 3rd Monster energy drink, he’s also gonna shout into his head mic every few minutes for people and giggles, ignore that as well.
Do you want a receipt because we have no till roll.

I don’t think I want to be alive anymore and I didn’t find the sweetcorn,
but I did get a lovely heated toilet roll holder and Christmas cards for 32cent.

Our Aldi is really clean and Lidl is a mess - suppose it depends on what you buy, near me they are both about the same age, one new build and Aldi extended and a refit. Before we moved here I always shopped in Lidl but have to go on the bus to it and Aldi is down the road so have got used to Aldi now but I don't have a problem with it except there is no bakery which I like in Lidl and their big vine tomatoes.

I've had the same experience. I remember a refit in an Aldi store in the last few years reminded me of a Marks and Spencer store.
I really think it depends on the clientele and management.
I've just found a nice Aldi where the clientele are lovely and don't barge you or intimidate you to hurry up, and the store has a nice atmosphere and is tidy. Bliss!

Same in my town. It’s so interesting how much things differ and which store people end up preferring. I started shopping in Lidl more because it’s only down the road but the amount of bad experiences I’ve had has put me off. I don’t think they store their food correctly before it’s on the shelf. I’ve had so many things be mouldy / gone off upon opening, even well before the use by. Plus this one employee must douse himself in 5 bottles of cologne, the scent following him a mile off around the shop. On one occasion I couldn’t stop sneezing, it was so embarrassing.

I go on the bus or walk to Aldi, very rarely have issues with the food and since they’ve had the self checkouts installed I love it even more. The middle aisles are always a tit show in both shops but to be fair I usually avoid them unless for something specific because I have no restraint for buying utter tat.

Popped into Aldi today and the place was plastered with pink notices saying you weren't allowed to eat the food in there without a valid receipt for purchase, as it would be regarded as theft!
Had trouble with self service machine as the alarm went off a few times. Left feeling like I was going to be pounced on for shoplifting as I left the store.

By law it’s only theft if you leave the premises without offering payment. Aldi can treat it as theft if they like but the police won’t until an actual theft has taken place.

Stuff like that gives me the urge to pinch a grape

I have. I'm not very keen on it. It's quite 'sticky'. Primark do a nice rose cleansing milk for around £2.

Thank you I’m using La Rochy Posay one at the moment it’s very good on sensitive skin so I was after something similar but cheaper . I will pick one up from Primark at the weekend thank you x

Yes, I've been using it for the last few years. Along with their Nivea dupe day and night creams. I have slightly dry skin usually but the cleansing milk combats that for me. The only product I can't use is the micellar water as it makes my eyes itchy. However, I use Primarks micellar water.

The facewash is quite nice too. I find a lot of face wash's can be drying, but not this one.

It's a nice consistency but quite fragranced. I can't imagine it being good for sensitive skin. A shame really as without the perfume it would be great.

I find anything with perfume just irritates my skin so yep I will have to give it a miss. I think I may try the Primark one instead. x

By law it's theft if you pick it up with the intention not to pay; but yes, police wouldn't be interested until you had left the shop as it would be hard price any dishonest internet (to not pay) before that point.

Lidl does something very similar. One peri-peri and the other garlic and herb. They are so good! I always have one or both in the freezer.
