Why won't cyclists just move out of the damn way and go on the road ffs! I don't need some twit shooting past gobbing on the road next to me and leaving the pong of sweat trailing behind. Theeeeen if you mention it anywhere they have to all start jumping on you and be like wheh wheh wheh wheh cars. Nah piss off!

Cheers I needed that. I hope everyone has a good New Years and hope you all stay safe. xx

In my eyes cyclists can't win - they're a pain wherever they are 🙈 if I'm walking on the pavement i always nearly get mowed down by them and im in their way, but if I'm in my car and they're on the road then they are in my way 😂

My gentle whinge of the day is that I machine washed and tumble dried a rug. This was surprisingly successful given it's not washable. However it is now a very wavy rug.
Currently trying to work out how to tame the trip hazard:

a) Iron placed over a tea towel (like you used to have to do to straighten hair before straighteners were any good).

b) Floor steamer held down for thirty seconds or so in problematic places.

c) Piles of books on the waves. Quadrupling the trip hazard.

my whinge of the day is fireworks. I feel like every house on the sodding street is letting them off! I like fireworks normally but I'm trying to finish uni work and it's not being made easy by banging literally every minute!

My whinge of the day is cars who park on or near road bumps which forces myself and other cars behind me to either go on a bumpy "rollercoaster" or go in to the oncoming traffic lane to use that road bump so not to damage my rims/tyres!

Well my moan is im feeling quite lonely ... I’ve been going on lots of walks in the country and get really excited when someone walks past I always say hello but sometimes get ignored :( something else which upsets me which is pathetic is if a dog goes past me and doesn’t want a fuss 😹 I know you aren’t meant to as of covid but I get a little Pang 😭 my sisters home for Xmas so I do have company but I think this year has left me craving some human intereaction an I’m normally a hermit!! I suffer with anxiety and depression so struggle normally anyway. So just trying to keep myself up and pull myself out of downs and panics . Other thing which I want to rant about is my overdraft it’s about minus a grand and I have no savings, I’ve been trying to get out of it all year but it’s been hard due to lockdown :( I left my job in dec 19 due to bullying and was out of work then just before lockdown so I was working at morrisons as it was my only option. I’m now a TA for some lovely autistic children and am concerned that if schools shut again I won’t be paid due to the fact I’m on long term agency. So my money could get even worse. I was minus 2000 jan19 and have pulled that back to minus 1000 but christmas hasn’t helped as I do like treating family and making them happy. Also sounds stupid but I have two cats and their food costs a lot and vet bills. As I decided to get them so wouldn’t skimp on their stuff. Anyway I’ll shut up now love to you all and positive vibes ❤

Ooh I like this thread. My moan (and just to say I love him dearly. I had a stroke earlier this year and he’s been my rock) is my partner is a hoarder. It hasn’t got to the stage you see on tv, but we live in a 3 bed house, just us as kids grown up, and every room plus garage and under stair cupboard is full. We had a new boiler last week and the fitter nearly died under massive boxes in the small bedroom. Full of utter crap! He refuses to throw anything. He’s got boxes and boxes of stuff. Broken tools, ripped tents, 8 full rucksacks etc. Won’t go into more detail as I’d be here all night. There is no more room in our house. I cannot make him part with anything. Don’t know if it’s my Virgo brain but I hate clutter. And I’m not saying it shouldn’t look like he lives here too, but when I try to Hoover it’s like the Crystal Maze. And he won’t stop buying neither.
It sounds awful but I’ve sometimes pictured leaving him so I can have calm and tidy and not fall over strips of metal in the hall or the 3 sewing machines plus reams of fabric. I daydream about a skip and charity shop run. I have asked him shall we have a clear out but he gets huffy. When I moved in with him I put my few boxes in the garage which is where they’ve stayed 9yrs on as there’s no room to empty them. His mum knows the score and she tries for me too but he just ignores her
As I say I love him deeply but it’s my 1 gripe and as I’m at home all day now I’m noticing it more and more
Cheers for reading

Oh this thread is going to see a lot of me 🤣

My friend is the most dramatic person ever and honestly it's draining. The problem is, a lot of the problems are of her own making and she just makes stupid decisions. She'll moan to me about how she hasn't got any money and she's struggling to pay her rent but then literally the next day will say how she's going to book a holiday to America with her friends (pre-covid obviously).

She got a pay out for something and instead of using it to clear her debt and help herself she was going to spend it on a trip to Thailand.

She's had a lot happen in the last few years don't get me wrong, but sometimes I feel like she's just chasing an image and trying to get things to say she's got something instead of doing the sensible thing. She hangs around with tit friends and she has to have a boyfriend to make her feel good/ It's really frustrating and draining and I've been thinking about cutting contact but she is a good friend and I don't want to abandon her after she's had a tit time, but I'm kind of sick of hearing the same problem over and over when she won't help herself.
This sounds alot like myself. I have alot of signs of BPD but I've never been to the GP to investigate. I don't have much money, I work an average job with a family so not much to spare. I've had alot of debt which is now being cleared. Some days I wake up on a big high, I have all these great ideas that I'm going to do this and that and all these amazing things. Other days I wake up and I'm on a low and everything feels tit. When I'm on a high I feel like I can do anything I want to do, I make all these plans which at the time seem very realistic to me but then on a normal day it hits me that infact I can't actually afford to do any of it. Not that this helps you at all, just strange reading about other people that sound like me 😅

My whinge is about my friend. We rarely see each other but speak often, however she’s very self absorbed and will talk for hours about herself but isn’t so interested in me.

When she occasionally asks about my baby she won’t use her name she’ll say ‘the tot’ which really angers me. I’ve told her how I felt before but not a lot changed. I don’t get it because I’m on the other end of the scale, wanting to know all the latest gossip, my friends opinions on things, how they are etc

Makes me sad because she’s actually a fun, good person

My partner & I had a rocky (but deeply loving) relationship for years and finally split a year ago today. I’m 30, all of my friends are married and had children this year. I have a decent job, though I’m unhappy in it, and own my own home. I’ve only seen my parents this year, I moved in with them for a while in the first lockdown and visit every weekend.

I’ve tried dating apps but we are in a pandemic! and this may sound ridiculous, but the quality of men isn’t great near me 😂. I feel like I’m just treading water, I also didn’t get closure from my ex. We are trying to be friends which is kind of working, I feel very numb to the drama we had and I do enjoy talking with him, still.

I am under constant pressure from family and friends to marry and have children. I just don’t know how to do that right now but I would like to one day. I like my own company, actually I love it, and I don’t go out partying every weekend. I’m a recluse tbh and I’m not unhappy about it. I would like a man part time but I cant deal with family pressure. Due to COVID I only visit my parents so I feel a bit like a kid again, my life on pause.

Are we the same person? I'm 31 and under pressure from my mom to get back into the dating world. She keeps mentioning the apps and how everyone is doing Facetiming/video calling dates instead of going out due to COVID. I've dabbled in the apps the past few years but nothing has come from it. Someone else seems to be getting engaged or having a baby every week and I'm over here like 🙋‍♀️. 2020 was definitely the lost year. Thankfully, my job is secure, I have my house, etc but the social aspect of my life really took a dive. I talk to my parents more than anyone else and they're the only people I see semi regularly. No one is doing anything because of the restrictions so even conversations with family and friends are becoming shorter and more spread out.

I know we still have a long way to go with the pandemic and I'm not trying to downplay the seriousness of it but I'm so ready for life to (safely) unpause itself.

Your situation would drive me bonkers too. If I were you I'd do the sorting out myself, and possibly start with the useless stuff such as the ripped tents. Tell him (don't ask!) nicely that you've made a start in decluttering the house, and helped him. Have everything in a pile in the garage and give him chance to say no before you take it to the tip.

As you can tell, I don't have your patience. 🤣🤣

Oh hell no 😹 I’m quite minimal I’m probably too ruthless with chucking stuff out!! I helped my sister do her room yesterday as she too keeps everything and gets attached to them and the memories!! We did her wardrobe first and managed to get rid of two bin bags of stuff so a great start

Despite a curfew here in Johannesburg, more or less banning people from being on the streets between 9pm last night and 6am this morning, along with banning of all alcohol consumption, I could still here hundreds of fuckwits defying the rules and going out celebrating in the streets, and on the beaches (also closed), letting off fireworks and getting pissed at the same time. (No social distancing of mask wearing either)

So the police get called in. And I have to say they don't duck about when it comes to zero tolerance and restoring order. From what I saw on various public CCTVs across the city the police got their batons out and went in swinging and arrested a load.

Finally, some of those who were arrested and allegedly beaten by the police, are now moaning on social media about police brutality/police state/"I can do what I want. I'm entitled" and generally playing the victim!

Well, I am very sorry, but curfews are there for a reason. No one likes it, but there it is. We have to get through this and mats like them will just extend the nightmare rather than bring closure much sooner.

I feel pretty bleak at the moment. It is not anything to do with my last whinge, it is just the way I'm feeling at the moment. My mood hasn't been helped, by the drunken ramblings of a friend of ours who phoned earlier. I have compassion for his situation, but not on New Years Day, when you are trying to focus on being positive! I have managed to chase my long suffering partner, out of HIS own home, because of the way I am feeling.
Cold miserable weather outside, no places to go, not much of a bus service today (to travel back to my own place, which I haven't been to in over a week).
Whinge, whinge whinge!

My cousin. Her local airport in county kerry is shut so she travelled from kerry to dublin and met two friends one from galway the other from limerick. From dublin the three of them travelled to stanstead and then from stanstead to gatwick where they took a flight to jersey for xmas. She is now back in kerry and her town is on full lockdown as is ireland and she's ranting on facebook that its the uk's fault that ireland is in the state it in 😆 This is in spite of their being the same guidance in ireland and uk that its essential travel only 🤦

You sound like a nice friend to have but don't feel bad about putting your own needs first. Even if its a little white lie, say you have to get off the phone because of blah blah blah. Its really difficult when you're already low to be dragged down further. I find walking helps. I did two hours yesterday and picked out five front doors I liked, five cars, five houses and counted how many cats I met on the way. I also try and guss the colour of the car I can hear coming from behind. I feel stupid revealing all that but strangely it helps and I feel better when i get back. I'm glad you've got this place to offload at least. 🤞 🙂

My whinge to start the new year is likely very miniscule compared to others who are going through worse but it's about the massive great big lump of crap the local pigeon has left on our wall. 🥴 It's the size of a grape!

Lots of love to everyone I hope this year will be a more stable, safe and happier time for us all. x Happy Newt Year! ❤
