So I used to work for my local authority in the temp housing department....there was one girl who came in with her 12 year old son , she claimed actual poverty , no job , no money , homeless , food banks etc!! She got evicted due to non payment of rent previously.

She got housed into a 2 bed house within a matter of weeks. This was 2019

I just followed her on Instagram and surprise surprise she has had her house done to literally resemble an Essex palace towie would be proud of...... she had been in Dubai just before lockdown ....Ibiza and Majorca before that.....balenciaga trainers and louis Vuitton galore .....and to top it off she just posted new car day with a brand spanking merc!

I don’t really care how / where she got her money but this is one reason I gave up my job.....I couldn’t stand watching people undeserving of social housing lie scam and cheat there way because they knew what to say how to hide information they didn’t want known .....all whilst I saw people deserving not qualify!!!! The system in this country is fucked!!!!! And this is from someone who worked on the front line!!!!!!

Went through the mortgage calculators to see if even the dream is feasible for me. To say that I am depressed doesn't even cut it lol, nice to know that I probably won't be able to afford my own home unless I get married or somehow win the lottery. Time for some crisps and a B99 rewatch.
Just wanted to come and say that whilst owning your own home is great if that is something you really want, it is not the be all and end all or a measure of your success as a person, please don’t feel too down about it 💖 enjoy your crisps 😊

Feeling bitter and stuck about my current situation in life and hearing judgemental comments about people with similar situations to me doesn't really help at all. Feeling very overwhelmed by every single noise and presence around me. I don't want to die, but I want to lie in the snow, stare at the sky and somehow slowly cease to exist.

My MIL, everything is always a massive drama for her & she insists on dragging me along for the ride. She currently has a UTI, now I know they’re not nothing and can be nasty but she refuses to call a doctor or even get advice from the surgery. She expects me to somehow fix it for her, now I’m sympathetic but I’m no doctor, therefore actually limited in how I can solve this for her & no she won’t let me speak to the GP on her behalf.
I’m 7 months pregnant & tired & I want to be selfish and tell her to buzz off. But I know I won’t & will just listen to her literally cry, howl and scream down the phone at least 10 times today while not being willing to help herself in any way, at the same time as home schooling the 3 children I have - two of whom have additional needs.
I know it’s easier said than done but please, please set yourself a boundary. You have more than enough on your plate. “Listen MIL, I’m really sorry but there’s nothing else I can say or do if you’re not willing to seek help from the doctor. Let me know once you’ve spoken to them and if I can help collecting a prescription or anything (etc).” She is a grown adult and should be looking for ways to help you not causing more problems!

mini rant: my boss is taking advantage of the fact i should ''be happy that i have a job right now'' and is using me for any little job and task she can think of, no matter if it's connected to my actual job or not and then on the actual job i have clients who are completely crazy who are calling me every single day and making me anxious and i want to quit every single day but wouldn't be able to survive without this pity money i get (i am not even properly paid for my job, just getting money from the government due to covid)

Also the burden on the nhs, bed spaces and over worked staff. My sisters who is a nurse has been doing a 45 hour week since march. She even treated a protester with a sprained ankle who was loudly complaining about having to wait four hours to be seen 🤦
My mum is a retired nurse and my dad is a retired doctor. Both NHS all their working lives and so very aware of what a Pandemic means and the fact specialised medics aren't simply plucked out of obscurity
I'm trying to stay quiet but I want to reply to my friends and ask what the hell did they expect seeing family.
I think if we all assume we're infected then maybe people would think twice.
My one friend was fuming that Boris changed the rules last minute 🤦🏼‍♀️ of course he did, he can't lead, he makes u turns all the time and the idea that a virus stops for Christmas is ridiculous.

I’m utterly depressed, stressed and exhausted. If I could, I would stay in bed all day and not move (I have a history of depression and anxiety, I know that’s how it goes). I wish that I hadn’t returned to working in care after being a SAHM for three years. I had been looking forward to it so much initially as found being at home with kids could be quite isolating at times (we don’t have a lot of family support as they live further away). Then Covid happened and it has been the most stressful transition. I caught Covid back in April and was terrified I might die or spread it to my family and kill them (irrational thoughts exacerbated by media hysteria). People were dropping like flies in my work, and we lost a lot of the people we were caring for one after the other, unable to do anything about it and not feeling safe due to inadequate PPE at the time. There has been nothing to look forward to for the better part of a year, we only got out of restrictions for a month last year and now it feels like we’re back to square one. We’re short staffed again in work due to shielding. I’m sleep deprived most days (night shift worker with a husband who snores). I’ve put on weight and neglected myself when I used to take a lot of pride in my appearance, my husband and I are always at each others’ throats. Our eldest son’s autism diagnosis had only just sunk in and now our youngest son is also awaiting ASD assessment. I’m starting to resent my husband for being able to stay at home with the kids (bad, I know). He has been out of regular work since lockdown one and is having a hard time adjusting to being the stay at home parent and I do feel for him, but he will give the kids their tablets and doesn’t even try to do anything with them. I’m worried they’re having far too much screen time. It makes me nervous for next week when homeschooling begins for our 5yo, because he will be in charge of the brunt of it and I can’t honestly see it getting done (I don’t really blame him, he also has a 3yo to entertain).

Not looking for advice or being told I’m selfish or whatever anyone else thinks of me, just a very big rant because I have barely slept in the last two days and I need to get it off my chest before I explode. ❤

TW for being sick in case anyone doesn’t like that.

As I said in my opening post, I have a bad back and cannot move very much. This morning it is horrendous however I have also managed to be up throughout the night with what now seems to be a sickness bug.

But because I can’t walk very well I can’t get to the bathroom very quickly to be sick, que being sick getting out of bed, on the floor (sorry if I’m grossing you all out.)

The pressure from the act of being sick is also super painful for my back so essentially I am having a fucking great time.

Unsure if I have ever been more miserable to be honest, I have had the thing where I wish I appreciated not being ill 😩 meant to have ten days holiday from work after today so I also have so much work to finish off and I just cba entirely 😩😩😩

Out of nowhere my best friend has completely taken a turn on me. We used to text loads and she never replies anymore. She doesn’t like my social media. It’s all very petty.

She makes me feel like absolute shit.

It’s like everything is a competition. I introduced her to another friend and she might as well take a mortgage up her backside. It’s like she doesn’t have to be honest with her. She’s taken a volunteer role on but told my friend that it’s an actual job that’s paid. It’s not up to me to tell her otherwise but it makes me so mad when she’s asking about her salary and how does she juggle two jobs etc when I know she doesn’t.

I’ve booked in for my covid vaccine tomorrow and rather than say “yay!” She just said “I wouldn’t have it.” And downplays everything that I do. I know she’s jealous of my job within the NHS - she works in a call centre for a health company and she hates it but again, lies to my other friend and basically makes out she’s a nurse.

I have been tempted many times to ask if I’ve done something wrong and why doesn’t she bother talking to me anymore but I can’t be arsed with it. It’s made me cry some evenings as I’m so down about it all. I’ve probably not explained it properly here as I really am just ranting but meh.
She dosen't sound like much of a friend to me. Perhaps it is time to cut her loose.

I feel really miserable about my current life situation. I've been with my partner 7 years. We were due to buy a house a few weeks ago but it fell through JUST as we were about to exchange. We're struggling to find anything else, Rightmove has been dead the last couple of weeks and anything that does crop up isn't in a suitable area, or needs too much work (we're on a budget so are limited as to what we can take on). I just feel like my life is going nowhere. I'm 25, in a long term relationship but NOT engaged (even though I so desperately want to be). Stuck living out of boxes and cases at his Mums. She's nosey as hell. I can't answer a call or put my shoes on without being asked who it was or what I'm doing. I feel awkward if I go to the kitchen to make something to eat, or if I want a bath, like I'm in the way. I want my life to start moving so that I can do the things I so long for, like having a baby etc.

Facebook and Instagram doesn't help as all my school friends are doing the things I want, buying houses, getting engaged, having babies, and here's me feeling like I'm doing nothing and going nowhere.

I work in a care home, and no day is ever the same - which I suppose I should be grateful for. Sometimes it can be quite rewarding, knowing that you can enhance people's lives by doing simple gestures.
Which brings me to the point of my post, I don't have the energy to write a detailed explanation right now, but there are two very underated words that seem to be disappearing from our vocabulary - "Thank you." Believe me, I cannot emphasise the importance of these words - they go a long way in life.

My friend is a teacher (secondary) and she's been in tears attempting to homeschool her 6 year old. So if a professional is that upset, everyone else has every right to be.

Lazy men, fml ive had enough. So I have the kids all week trying to juggle working from home, home schooling and looking after a very disruptive toddler.
He does nothing in the week except moan how bored he is at work because its dead there. No cooking, cleaning or washing. Ive got the kids fed and bathed before he gets home.
This morning he decided to lay in untill 11. Ive got up, took the kids to the park come back and he's done fuck except make a mess. Confronted him about it and he just say omg I'm so selfish, the most selfish person in the work blah blah blah. And now he's fucked off out (to do his mate a favour from work) Let me to sort the kids again. Rant over 🤬
Men are bastards. They do the bare minimum and expect applause and showers of praise. If I genuinely had my way, men wouldn’t be allowed near women or girls. We would live in a segregated society 🤣😂

What is it with everyone all of a sudden becoming a body shop at home consultant?! 5 people who I’ve either worked with or known from school have followed me on Instagram and the same worded script! Blaaaaahhhh
Aw don’t even start me on this nonsense. Same folk who 12 weeks ago were making candles at home 🙄

Also, the amount of folk buying food from randoms online. No, pretty sure most of them don’t have appropriate hygiene codes and whatnot 🤮

Anyway, my rant is this lockdown can get in the bin.

On a rare day off with my OH today and we both could kill to go out for a breakfast then a wee wander up shops, get a coffee etc. I’m not even upset, I’m now really angry about all of our simple/mundane life things we cannot do.

As we were in localised tier restrictions before the “lockdown” it feels like it’s been going for months and months.

Have been pretty focused on perspective and finding positives this lockdown (exercising daily for one) but at the end of my tether. And the whole thing can fuck off now 😡

Sorry for my potty mouth. 🙈

I'm not even that old but I can remember when newsreaders/broadcasters just read the news and interviewed guests in a professional manner. I'm sick to the back teeth of people like kirsty wark, emily matis, peirs morgan, john snow, james o'brien etc being paid loads to give their own personal opinion, and on such a huge platform too, and then having the temerity to have a go at people who don't agree with them. Same with the radio. Talk radio presenters cutting callers off if they dare disagree or have a different opinion.

Sorry for what is a (selfish) whinge.
My mental health has never been amazing, since childhood but in 2019 I found that I was in the best place I’d ever been and I feel like I did well in 2020, until around November when I started getting night terrors again and that’s happened a few times since... I hate it. I don’t have anything to complain about really, I still have a job, boyfriend and family who are safe but I work in a public facing role and am terrified of catching or passing COVID on to my shielded relative (we live together) and seeing as 2021 isn’t looking great either my anxiety has gone through the roof as I feel like potentially my job will go, as we’re now closed but 🤷🏽‍♀️

Also, sorry I don’t want to offend anyone but it’s really hard seeing all the pregnancy and engagement stuff everywhere at the moment when that just isn’t happening to me, when actually I would really like both. (Again I did say this is all very selfish and I am privileged with what I have and know that, my mind just can’t seem to grasp that I am lucky).

Thank you if you read this, I vented more than I thought I would 😂

I want to quit my job but my husband won’t let me. It’s been triggering my PTSD I’ve been off sick more this year than I have worked, I know I’m on my last legs from the employers side (ie they are fed up with me being off etc) I’m trying my hardest.

I am not *allowed* to quit because money and my husband has taken over my finances by changing my password and transferring MY money into our joint account (he said I spend too much) when I’m reality I bought myself an £11 book for Christmas and I bought my family and his family all the Christmas gifts and I have a spreadsheet for budgeting. However he can spend his cash Willy nilly on his new “hobby” of investing!
This is unforgivable, you are an adult. If he has concerns about your spending, the way to solve that is not overtaking your finances, wtf. I agree with @Kim Mild, open another account and say nothing to him. What he did is abusive and controlling.

I wasn't sure where to post this, I thought about posting on the secret opinions thread, but what I have to say may sound like self pity.
I am feeling really negative at the moment, it began yesterday morning when they announced that the Oxford vaccine has been approved. I felt a little pressurised into ringing my Doctor's surgery, to ask if I could be made a priority, because of the nature of my work.
My place of employment has had a recent outbreak of Covid. Before this happened the staff were offered the opportunity to have the first vaccine that was available, most of us did not take them up on the offer. I really don't want something which may cause horrible side effects. Infact the more people talk about it, the less I want to have it. But there are vulnerable people to consider.

If I may go off on a tangent, this is where the self pity comes into play. Whilst I enjoy contributing to Tattle, I have never really felt like I have fitted in. Maybe it is my age, and not being on the same wavelength as everybody else. I don't have children, so I can't really empathise with the parents on Tattle. Communication has never been my strong point anyway.
My apoIogies to anyone of a delicate disposition, I think that is enough whinging for now!
Hey, there’s no need to feel left out on here. 🧡

I don’t have children either and I am also an older member of Tattle (55) but I’m also a newer member in that I only joined back in August of this year. Dear Rochelle Humes (bless her) brought me to Tattle. 🤣 🤣

I am sure there are lots of threads you could join in on and your contributions would be welcomed. 💚
