Erm Hitler was democratically elected….. when people hear Trumps policies they think he doesn’t mean me, he won’t come after me, he just means those horrible immigrants/black people/liberals.

Trump refuses to accept he lost the last free and fair election, he staged an insurrection because of it, he was quite happy for his Vice President to be hung - that alone should ban him from even running from President before we get to all the other tit he’s done.

But hey Harris stumbles over her words now and then and *checks notes* laughs so obviously they are both the same.
But people have a lived experience of what life was like under Trump for 4 years and what life has been like since. They are aware that their lives cost more now, that millions have been allowed over the border illegally and unnecessarily, and that the US didn’t get involved in any military disasters under Trump. The very poorest people have suffered the most under Biden/Harris. They remember the MS media screaming on about “fascist regimes” from 2016 and they lived out those years and know that under Trump 1.0 the US didn’t turn into a dictatorship. They increasingly ignore the MSM for other news sources and anyway I think many people have become immune to all media screaming. People compare their lives now and their lives under Trump, and they're deciding accordingly.

And it’s not that Harris stumbles and laughs. It is that she is a terrible candidate who simply cannot articulate her policies when asked to do so. She is not a talented politician, she cannot pivot effectively, she does not have good ideas, in fact increasingly it appears that she has no ideas at all. I say this as someone who voted Democrat for 12 years. I no longer vote in US elections but have followed this one very closely and would never vote for Harris.

The townhall with Anderson Cooper was so shocking that even CNN was hammering her afterwards. She cannot answer questions. She was asked very specifically what her plan was to reduce inflation. Her answer was to talk about stopping price gouging during natural disasters. The two have nothing to do with each other. She was asked why the Biden administration didn’t issue an executive order to stop border crossings much earlier. She laughed and blamed Trump for not getting Mexico to pay for the wall. She word-saladed through the follow-ups. This matters and it’s not good enough and it’s not winning over undecided voters which are the ones who matter at this point.

I think she will lose and frankly I think the Democrats deserve everything that is coming to them.

If his fascist tendencies are so clear and apparent and “all out there”, why do you think so many people, including people of colour, want to vote for him? Isn’t it a bit weird that so many millions of people would actively choose to live in a fascist regime?
Because they're fed up of being told they should automatically support Kamala because she's a person of colour

There are a lot of racist homophobic transphobic people out there, after all.
Yes there are. But some of the people who voted for Trump in 2016 previously voted for Obama in the hope that he would improve their lives. He failed them.
Some black people are voting for Trump.
Some gay people.
How does this tally up in your world view?
Are 50 million people racist, homophobic and transphobic - including the POC and gay ones?
The left always resorts to the identity politics name-calling. In my view this is pure projection: they are so obsessed with race and gender that they think everyone else is too - and they’re not. This obsession stops them seeing things as they are. Which in this case is that they have a terrible unelected candidate with awful policies who has completed failed to reach undecided voters.

Yes, and the whole J Biden disgusting “if you don’t vote for me you ain’t black” stuff.

I’ve probably looked into this in too much cos my youtube feed is now full of black people voting Trump and laughing their heads off at (particularly white) people who yet again have bought the whole “orange man fascist” schtick.

Trump still hasn't accepted he lost the last election. What makes anyone think he won't accept this next loss? Forget his cognitive decline, most people over 40 who are fairly with it don't really change their personality or views (I'm talking about me). 😬 It's going to be a massive mess.

Thinking about it, I'm slightly fearful that in the vacuum between election day and Kamala winning nefarious parties are going to get up to all sorts, ie: China invading Taiwan (okay, that's an extreme example). But I'm sure all sorts of tit will go on when America's eye is off the ball.

ps. China could invade Taiwan tomorrow if they wanted and nobody could or would do a thing about it.

Hillary and countless Democrats didn’t accept that she’d lost the 2016 election. They went on for 4 YEARS about Russian collusion. Trump is not in power at the moment and Biden has been President for 4 years so it appears that whatever Trump believes power was passed to the newly elected President at the correct time. In both cases it seems that life went on and the system remained intact.

So I wouldn’t be too concerned right now about what will happen between election day and “Kamala winning” (I admire your confidence). Let’s wait for the results first.

FWIW I changed my views after 40. All that is needed is a genuine interest in finding out why other people have different viewpoints to you and the ability to detatch, even a tiny bit, from your certainty that you alone are right about things. If you can do that a whole new world opens up which is both fascinating and humbling. I agree that most people prefer to be “right” and do not have this interest or ability.

So name calling is calling someone who doesn't like certain races racist and calling someone who doesn't like gay people homophobic? If so, oh dear.

Harris will batter him. It's so obvious to me. You might be brainwashed by the paid-for media.

I don't even care that much who wins at this point, both are dreadful for different reasons.

I'm just counting down the days for 2028.

My vote is irrelevant in my state, I'm only voting to make a point about how outdated the electoral college system is.

It's too close to call, but if it was the popular vote there's no doubt Harris would win.

One is a racist, a rapist, a fascist, and a convicted felon and one isn't. Hope that helps if you're stuggling to decide who to support.

You’re calling 50 million-odd people you don’t know racist, homophobic and transphobic. I just wonder how you know this, and whether you could conceive of any other possible reason people might vote for Trump and/or against Harris. Especially - as you seem to like a bit of identity politics - the black, brown and gay ones.

Ah bless. I don't think logic is your friend. Reread my post.

Oh I read you perfectly thanks. You don’t want to answer the question and you don’t know enough about the topic to he able to engage at anything beyond the most superficial levels of debate. Much like Kamala.

Biased coverage or what
Ridiculous bias, but however they spin it, it’s a truly bizarre strategy to have Harris cosy up to Cheney, thereby aligning herself with the neocons of the 2000s and architects of the Iraq War - a war which led to the rise of Iran and the awful situation now escalating in the Middle East. Who is this supposed to appeal to? She could alienate her own base, and Republican voters have completely different interests nowadays.

Meanwhile Trump did Rogan. I can’t quite bring myself to listen to the whole 3 hours but that is a hell of a smart move. Rogan’s moved a long way from the days when he refused to have Trump on.

Some Beyonce fans are not happy because they went to Harris' rally in Houston expecting a free Beyonce concert and all they got was a speech!
