What do you think the thinking behind that is? Brainwashing? Abuse? Two-sides of the same coin I suppose. Very sad.
Both. I'm currently reading "A Well-Trained Wife" (My Escape From Christian Patriarchy) by Tia Levings. The religious brainwashing, chauvinism and violence/abuse is shocking.

The biggest pull to vote for Harris remains that she's not the other one. It's a mess all round.

With everything happening in the middle east, Ukraine and the awful FEMA response I can't see her gaining any ground.

The early voting in swing states is apparently seeing Trump with a higher % than he did in 2020 so far. Still behind but Democrats always do much better early on.

As with Democratic candidates of 2016 and 2020. Her supporters' "We're not going back" chant may as well be "She's not Donald Trump" .

There's going to be so much anger at Biden if/when Harris loses, over how he left it too late for [name of Democrat who 'definitely would have beaten Trump'] to be selected through the usual process.

If I don't follow the count live, I'm probably going to be excited to wake up and see the headlines 'Kamala Harris-' but then '-giving concession speech'. The news sites wouldn't dare be that cruel...would they?

Problematic Lizzo saying the whole country will be like Detroit if Harris wins o_O . She must be on the Trump side.

You can't really take one Poll as gospel, but this one just out doesn't look good for Harris and it was one of the more accurate ones for 2020. Definitely feels like she's loosing even more ground.

Very interesting discussion here about polling companies and how they are not all the same which gave me a bit of hope

I've just seen the clip of Trump dancing to YMCA. It was even worse than I expected. It looks like he can't move his legs there. Maybe severe back issues? He looks mentally checked out as well.

Does anyone else think he's seemed more out of it since the first assassination attempt? Maybe he began taking anti anxiety medication or something?

Of course if Taylor Swift publicly wished Kamala a Happy Birthday that would be game over for Trump.

Just my observation as a UK citizen watching the news/ Youtube etc

Gosh both of the choices are dreadful. Kamala really shows she has no independent thought, she falls apart when bot given prepared questions, it's more obvious she's a puppet. And Trump looks like he's past it (plus all the other stuff). I've said it before but is this REALLY the best America has to choose from?! Clearly the system where candidates are nominated etc needs looking into to ensure actual good candidates are able to progress. America gets to choose between a guy who has already had his turn and has been divisive, and a cackling lunatic who can't string a sentence together on her own, and talks about improving things and spreading joy when it has been HER/Biden in power the last few years, so is basically inadvertently saying they haven't been doing their job properly.

An absolute car crash on both sides. My overriding thought is Kamala HAS to be a puppet. And her voice is like nails on a chalkboard, and with that cackle I fail to see how she will inspire confidence with leaders of other nations.

And while I don't think Trump has what it takes anymore, I do think he at least has his own mind. Kamala has to be told hers.

Oh and I don't like how Obama is lumping all black men together as a monolith telling them they have to vote for Kamala. Does he think they are stupid?

What a bloomin' mess. Who ever wins, there's trouble ahead.

I don't know about Kamala being a puppet but she doesn't come across to me like a strong potential leader, more like she's just filling in for someone else. A substitute teacher of a president. Well, she won't be cackling if/when she has to preside over the certification of the Trump-Vance election win.

You’d better hope that’s the case because the figures showing the number of older white women who will be voting for a misogynistic rapist are frankly staggering.
People like Trump generally tend to do worse in polls than reality too because people don’t want to admit they’re going to vote for them. It frequently happens in the UK too. Occasionally it flips the other way, Labour’s landslide but it’s more common for the right wing to underperform in the polls.

The other thing Trump has going for him is that his core audience that he’s relying on will go out and vote for him come hell or high water. Harris, like Clinton, is relying on a contingent that on the day might decide they don’t want to vote at all. You’d hope they’d have learnt their lesson about that after the Clinton loss but you can never guarantee it.

Musk giving $1m to a voter in one of the swing states every day until the election.

Think they're hoping that by saying they have to sign some petition rather than specifically promise to vote for Trump, they will get away with not being done for election interference. The dems aren't happy about it though.

Kamala is a poor choice for a VP, let alone for the top job. Yet she remains the only sensible choice.

Her campaign feels like it's running out of steam and with each day she's losing popularity. They're going to be neck and neck soon enough and she really needs to be way in front with all the silent trump voters.

It's horrifying that she's raised over a billion, what an epic waste of money.

Lawyers will spend years arguing on the legality of it.

I'm not in any of the swing states else I would have signed it 🤪 , even though I'm not voting for Trump. The final bill for this is going to be huge.
