I think Spain, Portugal and other Spanish Islands will be open mid / late august ... greece, Cyprus , turkey , not so much ,just a hunch tho
I’ve been double vaccinated but still not taking chances .. I do like to think I’d have a long weekend abroad in Spain perhaps later this year

I’m looking at holidays for next year. How does layover flights work with covid? If I fly from uk to Jordan with a layover in Germany, do I look at the entering requirements from the UK or Germany?

Depends on the testing company you use. Ours are lateral flow tests, we do them, take a pic, submit it through their portal they verify it then send back the cert to say yes your negative etc. Some you do a video call I believe.

So if I had to take one abroad I'd need to find where I'd get the test beforehand? Was only going to go for 4 days so it's annoying I'd have to take a test on the second day there and then one 2 days when back. These companies are laughing all the way to the bank

Florida is absolutely great. Tampa is fab. If you get chance visit Disneyland, and allow yourself time to hire a car and just drive around. Miami, Fort Lauderdale, anywhere - you can't go wrong. Great weather, gigantic food portions and wonderful shops, not to mention the beautiful beaches, clear blue sea. Oh, just book me on the next flight.

Well I don't have a family or kids yet, so perhap Disneyland won't be on my shortlist just yet. But Florida as a whole does now interest me judging by the number of posts on here. So perhaps in a couple of years I might just pay a visit - but is there anywhere in Florida that might suit a single female in her late 20s?

Ah hope you get to go! Do you get private testing through work? Everything I’ve seen NHS isn’t permitted so have to shell out for private ones

Maybe he means he’s used to sticking them up his nose for regular testing so having one for holidays wouldn’t phase him

What confuses me is it says pre departure test for coming home then a pcr test? Not 2 pcr? So confused lol

Oh yeah! Possibly because they may allow other kinds of tests for pre departure.

I’m hopeful for next year but definitely not this year for me personally it’s too early for me - but that’s just personal prefwrence

Booked for Copenhagen for 1st December for 3 nights. Flights only £39 and booked cancellable hotel. I decided on Copenhagen as I'll be going on my own and seems more suited to solo travellers x

This is awesome, we haven’t done ours yet. At some point we were contemplating Stockholm vs Copenhagen but the flight time from London is terrible.

Chances of a US holiday this October getting slimmer by the day ....

I still have hotels (no flights) booked for Las Vegas in September and I can't bear to cancel yet as its admitting it definitely wont happen haha. I have a tiny bit of hope for NY in December otherwise we are hoping for next May.

I wouldn't be risking going abroad because I expect they will have way more rules in place than we will here and that won't be fun. I am going to the seaside in June and will book another seaside trip for August time in a few months. I expect the second half of the year to be fine (three months lockdown, three months tiers, June onwards normal).

Not all her information is correct! Green list country doesn’t need 2 x PCR tests when you arrive back, it’s just one! You need one flying out, and one back but she’s typed it as you need 2 x tests once home x

We are due to go to Malta 11th June, who knows!! Waaahhh! Haha

I think she did correct this. You need 1 PCR test to get on your plane back to the UK, and then another on or before day 2 of your arrival in the UK. So 2 tests to get home.

The news this morning is that bookings are surging, especially for the half term. Turkey is apparently a big half term destination in the making but this suggest people aren't doing their research. Sure, the tests have changed and it's no longer red listed but the COVID restrictions are awful. Anyone going there would have a miserable holiday unless what they want is to actually go to a restriction packed place.

Hoping to go to Bath for a short break this summer. I don't want to risk booking outside the UK. Failing that I might just be able to go up to Newcastle where my mother now lives and stay with her. It's not much of a holiday but she hasn't been in Newcastle for long and I've only visited a couple of times, I'm sure we could do some exploring

Book it and when saying you have it booked, be all excited about your solo travel! Make it clear

It’s not even truly solo really, I want to do a group tour and then a week solo at the end. I don’t even think my friend will even be able to do the tour due to health issues there’s activities I don’t think she’d be able to do. My mum said to just book it and don’t mention it
The only thing putting me off booking is that I booked to go away in September last year and the company went bust in August. I put in a claim in September and I still haven’t got a final reply. I’ve gone through the bank, ABTA and the financial ombudsman and got told I’ll get a final response tomorrow and now the bank are saying it’ll be more weeks

Been talking to my friend in Norway and seriously considering it. I've said before I wouldn't travel in these times but when someone invites you over you can't help being excited at the prospect of a holiday.

Even reading the green list stuff I'm still quite confused though. I'm not sure if I need to test going over or coming back.

Rather optimistically booked Centre Parcs for early July in January. That was after we rescheduled our planned and booked Winter Wonderland visit for December 2020. Their cancellation policy has been really good and that gave me confidence to book another break. However we're in Scotland so no idea if we'll even be able to travel.

My eldest is 3 and an absolute nightmare on flights. So we won't be going anywhere until both kids are old enough to sit on their arse and watch films on their iPads. Nothing to do with coronavirus but the thought of that really doesn't help with thinking about booking abroad
