I had booked up to go back to Sicily this year, but deferred the holiday until next year now. Who knows how this will all pan out and whether we actually get to go anywhere.

I was also planning on spending Thanksgiving with family who live in America.

I am not against vaccinations per sé, however, I don’t think I want to have a vaccine which has barely been trialled and tested. So I am wondering if holiday companies, airlines, hotels, etc will only accept you if it has been proven you have had the vaccination.

I would like to show my friend New Orleans next October, but if things are still the same I think I might book a cottage in the Lake District or something.

Thank you. My plan is hopefully to book days off just after they release it and book to go to a green list country straight away 🤞is it usually the next day it changes? So say 5th august they announce say Greece will be green it’ll be 4am(?) on 6th it changes?
They tend to come into action the following Monday to allow travellers to make plans should they need to.

Thank you so much! I was just super worried that maybe I needed to book an antigen test before I even fly over there so thought I’d double check before I booked my flights. I’m double vaccinated so hopefully won’t need to take any tests, only the ones before flying back to UK and then again on day 2 after returning home.

Do you know when they’re next updating the green and amber lists? Again thank you for your help, really appreciate it! :)
It should be the 16th so next Thursday but I think sometimes they do it on the Wednesday. There’s also rumours that it might change soon and if you are double vaccinated then no tests will be needed. I’m hoping it’ll change this time to that but I’ve read it’ll probably be October.
I was going to wait to book until then but went for it so I’m hoping it doesn’t change 🤞
I’m just not sure whether to get a antigen test to take with me or to find somewhere there that does it.

Anyone done a British Isles cruise before? Thinking about booking one if (when) my holiday gets cancelled.

A group of cross party MPs are calling for the government to “discourage foreign travel”

What Is everyone’s thoughts on this? I’ll admit, this frustrates me. I am concerned about the state of other countries and it is a major worry. However, allowing foreign travel to resume then suggesting people don’t go is MENTAL. Plus, airlines and travel companies will argue that technically the holiday is going ahead. And people will lose out on money.

Flying home from Croatia today, been a lovely change but got a bit bored the last couple of days as I'm here on my own. I want a European city break next if possible, at the beginning of December.

They should do away with all testing requirements, doesn't make any sense any more. Covid is in every country and it's here to stay
I’m flying to Croatia on Tuesday, do you mind me asking how you found all the tests/getting in? Finding it all a bit scary but hoping it’s much simpler and easy when it actually comes down to it!

After a hellish week in wales in July in an awful caravan where it rained all the time we are looking at going abroad in October.

Am I right in thinking if somewhere goes from Amber to red you need to quarantine? As I’d love to go to Italy/Greece/Spain but cannot afford for it to turn red while im there.

Obviously October is a while away but if we are stuck with green list it’d be Madeira / Malta / Croatia - anyone know which is best for a couple and a baby? I’m swaying towards Malta. This fire breaker lockdown talk is making me nervous for October.

Hopefully a cruise to Norway in July, however am expecting it not to happen.

Were supposed to be doing a New England and Canada tour in September, but pushing that back to 2022 😣

I think we’ll book something for Christmas time but I can’t see us going abroad before then. We’re moving up the country towards the end of the year (hopefully) so we’re going to need to do some reconnaissance at some point so that will count as a trip but who knows when that will be.

Not if you're fully jabbed. Masks on the plane and then test once when you're back and one lateral flow 48 hours before returning. Other than that you're free to enjoy your holiday.
How do you prove the outcome of the LFT? Are they the less expensive ones? I get confused with the different tests lol

I really want to go to Jordan and the tour I want to do fits in with my holidays I just booked. I doubt it’ll be on the green list though but I won’t be going to end of September 🤞

So the cruise line have issued an email today saying it's still going ahead?!

We have forwarded all the articles saying guernsey aren't allowing cruises this year and will see what they say. Its unbelievable
Which cruise line is it?

We are hoping for Silverstone in July.

Usually go to Blackpool for Rebellion (👋 @Punchy1988 and @CherryAcid) and Edinburgh Fringe in August, but not sure I'm comfortable with the idea of either 😟

After I cancelled my flights my bf and I considered meeting in a green country such as Portugal (since he had already taken days off work for my visit). But is there even any point? I’m sure Portugal is essential travel only and other countries aren’t even letting visitors in??
Portugal is letting in from 17th May apprently
