I am starting to suspect that the ones comforting Will potentially know more about his ‘demons’ than the public do. I wonder if they all know what he is really like and rather than comforting Chris, the safest and best option was to calm Will. Just a theory of course, but from the rumours I am hearing, this seems a plausible explanation

Yep. Sadly for Chris Rock, this is now how people will forever think of him. The bloke who got thumped by Will Smith on live TV.

She wasn’t offended by that alopecia joke any more than Will quickly went in to actor mode and pretended he was on her behalf.

She has been pissed off with Chris and held a grudge for years since he ridiculed her boycott or whatever and saw a moment to manipulate in the current climate of people getting offended on others behalf over almost anything no matter how trivial at times.

I’ve watched the video a few times now along with his acceptance speech and post awards behaviour. I am now fully convinced the whole reason behind it was Cocaine. It was because of lots and lots of cocaine coupled with lots and lots of alcohol.

Maybe he was hanging out with Liam Payne and the third loser he referred to was himself.

Rock could sue his employers too. They failed him.

Will Smith should have been escorted outside. Everyone knows the Oscars ceremony is a roast. He only took offence when he saw his wife wasn't happy with the joke - he was doing his fake laugh shtick up until that point.

It’s Chris Rock he is known to be controversial with his jokes ! Plus I doubt he was aware of her condition.Will should of handled it better and acted like someone else said like a man child. I can’t get over how calm and professional Chris Rock was ( at one point I thought is staged) ,not surprised his tickets sales have since increased massively so looks like Chris Rock has strangely benefited from it career wise.

Turns out Richard Williams abandoned is 5 children from his first marriage and broke his second wife’s ribs in a domestic abuse act. I thought King Richard was presenting a very flattering portrait of Richard Williams, he was much worse than what was shown on screen, it was a very one sided film.

Have they got an agreement for her to continuously make a fool of him?

Katie was hand plucked by Tom’s people and co-opted into the role of this adoring wife in order to make him appear relatable. Yes she probably should have known better but she was young and impressionable and had an extreme naivety to her. I don’t think they had a straightforward relationship. I think he was controlling and domineering and she was already in too deep with a kid before she realised what had happened.

Your post could apply to anyone who marries someone who they later realise to be a wrong un and I don’t think it’s fair to lay even half the blame on her feet. Tom is extremely charming and charismatic when he wants to be and she was clearly spellbound. I’m just happy that she got out when she did and if ever there was a celeb memoir I would love to read or have someone as a dinner guest it would be her. I would love to know more but understand that she likely cannot spill.

Exactly. Someone raised the point as well that if Jada had stormed the stage instead and slapped CR the way Will did everyone would be calling her a psycho bitch and wondering if she’s a domestic abuser etc.

I don’t think anyone is saying he should not have stuck up for his wife. It is the violent way in which he chose to do so that people are objecting to. There is no excuse for that.

I also read somewhere that he had previously slapped a journalist on the red carpet a few years back so it’s not the first time he’s been violent in public.
