I'm guessing that because he made a promise not to have another failed marriage and his mixed up feelings about not protecting his mum when he was a kid have made him stay in this toxic situation for too long. Open marriages in my opinion just don't work and all Jada's red table bollocks apologising to Wills first wife about not respecting marriage is hypocritical hogwash.

My suggestion,

Chris Rock joked about GI Jane, but Will took offence at how she lost her mane.

It feels like he’s where Ioan Gruffudd was at in 2018. Trauma bonded and can’t see a way out and will just mop up offer her at his own expense. She’s slowly bringing him down and he knows it so he’s trying to placate her so she stops. She won’t stop WS or at least until you give her what she wants.

There’s only really 3 options I can think of;

1.It was a stunt someone/they planned for abit of attention or media coverage given the Oscars have been tanking in ratings/popularity over last years - racism, pandemic, Harvey Weinstein, Epstein etc

2. As others have said he’s got a whole lot of pent up rage and psychological stress from years of marital problems and infidelity.

What I think most likely though is

3. (assuming 1 isn’t true) Cocaine. Swinging from aggression to the point of violence and yelling in front of 100’s of people to bawling crying talking about God and Love to singing and dancing within short hours is not normal behaviour. It’s very reminiscent of Kanye level erratic behaviour and we know he’s psychiatrically unwell. So yeah, cocaine, alcohol, uppers , steroids etc will do that to you.

Is it me or are Will and Jadas kids together really odd looking?! like they haven’t formed/developed properly, they are both adults now (Jaden 24 in July, Willow 21) yet still look like children.

Wills son from his previous relationship looks absolutely healthy.

If it's not a prolonged misconduct (which I am not sure here to be fair) I do think people do deserve chances, but obviously for that you have to genuinely realize that you were wrong in the first place and seek help if necessary.

It doesn’t mean you can never work again no but it does give the right for those in the know about what happened to decide if they would like to hire you or not. He’s not entitled to work just because he’s an actor. If I’m going for a job and they ring my last boss for a reference and he tells them I slapped someone on my last day, the new place have every right not to want to hire me. He assaulted someone on stage so publicly with the whole world watching. I do not blame people for being hesitant to hire him now or keep him on board of current projects

It has nothing to do with race, when I saw the infamous clip, I witnessed a man being violent towards another man. The fact that they were both men of colour, is not the issue.

As I said on another thread - I would have grinned and flexed my "guns". This was a ridiculous overreaction considering it was a mild joke and paled in comparison to the jabs that celebrities have taken at politicians and non-celebrities from their bully pulpits.

ETA: I always had a disconnect about how nice and normal Will Smith seems next to how f-ed up Jaden and Willow are. I agree that something is really off in that family. Jada always strikes me as a humorless pill who has been riding her husband's coattails. I never got them as a couple.

i’ve talked about this on a different topic, but from what i have seen especially from twiter and forums like LSA, they HATE mixed race people and don’t accept them as a ‘black’ person. Unless you are a dark skin black person you’re nothing to them it seems.

I’m not sure it’s a case of being cancelled as such. He’s now a poor investment. How many people are going to want to go enjoy a will smith movie when they’ve seen his recent actions. The production company will have already paid millions for the project and to bring something out (advertising/world premiere etc) will cost more. If they know it won’t make money why bother

I just find the whole thing bizarre, I said this on the UO thread but I just don’t see how Will can justify hitting CR over a joke that he initially laughed at. Watching it play out it almost seems staged but from CR’s reaction it seems not to be. The whole thing seems to be blown out of proportion. Twitter (that well known beacon of truth eh) are celebrating Will’s reaction, that because Jada has alopecia the joke was out of line and Will was acting in defence - I completely disagree I find it an awful overreaction and surely just talking to him afterwards would have been the better alternative. The joke wasn’t great but it didn’t deserve that reaction.

i don’t think it’s a race thing either it’s definitely an ‘I’m an untouchable star’ thing, although there will inevitably be a cross section of people who would see this as the ‘angry black person’ stereotype (though not sure if this stereotype is usually directed towards black women?). Which is wrong in itself bc he was right to be angry, just not violent.

i don’t think there will be any repercussions for WS tbh. The academy have already put out a tweet saying ‘we don’t condone violence’ but considering Roman Polanski the p€do has an Oscar they’re hardly going to whip it from WSs hands. The only repercussion I could think of, and I use the term lightly, is people viewing WS as a cuckold and him feeling emasculated.
