Is anyone slightly confused that she's prepared for a seminar on Bleak House but...hasn't actually read the novel? I feel like this is Ruby in a nutshell
She does this a lot, and it's definitely very telling.

She made the mistake of showing in a past video that for her assigned reading, she reads a Sparknotes synopsis, copies it all into Notion (with slight editing and rewording) and makes a character list before reading the actual book.

She claimed this was to keep track of the story and who the characters are in her head (which of course you're going to struggle with if you haven't read the book yet, Ruby). I think she thought made her seem super organised and a meticulous planner but really just revealed that she cheats, and she's an astonishing idiot who goes to great lengths to avoid actually reading things.

It's also very revealing of her essay-writing technique. She doesn’t read a text, form her own ideas and arguments and then find supporting arguments and materials for her argument as she writes her essay.

She reads a basic synopsis, reads supporting materials and critical essays before reading the text. She grills her tutors with leading questions to see what their ideas are and what they're likely to want to hear in an essay, takes copious notes from the opinions of her seminar classmates (especially Blakeney, whose Notion notes she copies for everything), then forms those borrowed ideas, thoughts and opinions into an essay plan and then picks up the book with an idea already in mind of what she'll need to be highlighting to support "her" arguments. She already has the synopsis in her head, which makes skimming through for quotes and not actually reading it much easier.

She's a total fraud.

My favourite lie of hers is still ”I ALWAYS make my bed, I don’t even have to think about it” -> proceeds to write it down in her to-do list 😂
I once saw wake up written in one of her to-do lists (don’t remember the video) and it was not ticked off. 😂

i haven't been on the ruby threads in like, forever, but the way she tries to sound so intelligent all the time makes me want to rip my hair out. when she was talking about circe and went "her writing is...not visceral, but corporeal...tactile is the word!" i couldn't help but roll my eyes. in the immortal words of tiffany pollard, "she does not have the vernacular that she thinks she possesses"

Mentioning inebriation??😧 Ruby gone wild!!!
Edit: I think she deleted this 🤣 definitely not proper enough for her audience!! can’t believe I caught it. Just goes to show she’s probably not as uptight as she makes herself out to be online.

Okay, I don’t wanna come across like I’m trying to label someone’s sexuality or that I’m assuming things about Ruby here, but I knew a girl like her in high school and I just wanna talk about it for a bit

So i knew a girl who was sort of similar to Ruby. Not obsessed with Harry Potter or anything, but she was a bit of a loner but very very organised and had the same “Victorian, posh” thing about her. She was always going on grades and routines, just that kinda thing.

She never had a boyfriend or girlfriend throughout school, which is totally normal!! But like, didn’t seem into anyone at all really. Whenever she was with us at lunch we’d bring up even something small like kissing this girl would just squirm and not join in.

Anyway I went off to uni and didn’t see her again. But my friends then told me that one of them went to the same uni as her and after graduating she has completely changed... which is amazing but like completely became confident in who she is.

She is basically into kink. Like very into it. Has a mistress and stuff. She’s gay now, but she has a blog and I’ve read it and it talks all about her high school experience where she felt shy and awkward. But now she’s into discipline and being told what to do and getting spanked by older women. This girl also wrote on her blog that she was obsessed with dressing vintage and pretending she’s a good little girl back in the day.

i mean... no shade, genuinely was just shocked reading this as it was not the same person in high school. I am so happy she’s realised what she fancies. But now when I look at Ruby, I can totally see the same traits in her... right down to pigtails, cute dresses, being obsessed with rules and order, being really organised and not showing any interest in relationships.

I dunno, just throwing this out there!! Obviously we don’t know anything but I just can’t get over the similarities. Even their photos on insta are the same!! Like purposely dressing younger and looking cute. I dunno... I just wanted to share. Maybe part of the reason she’s so organised and routine is because it turns her on. I have no idea haha but thought I’d post anyway
Firstly, I think this is a complete reach... and secondly, is this really ANYONES business? Is anyone’s sexuality or lack thereof really any the business of anyone but that person? She makes very young content, and her audience is mostly very young. Why should she have to bring up things like her sexuality just to satisfy speculators on Tattle? I think this is a bit much tbh.

1:35 is possibly one of the worst takes I've heard, most of the worlds conflicts and prejudice is because of bullying? no girl it's because of years and years of systemic oppression, being picked on when you're 13 is in no way comparable to prejudice
And she wasn't even bullied. By all accounts, her "bullying" amounted to people just not wanting to be friends with her in school and maybe making passive-aggressive comments to her because she was a judgemental, conceited little buzzkill who actively made her fellow students' days worse by encouraging and reminding teachers to assign homework to everyone. Her "bullying" was so intense that, according to her, she forgot/didn't realise that she'd been "bullied" until years later.

Then she acts like she's a brave survivor - a voice for the downtrodden - and compares her experience to that of concentration camp survivors. It's like her having a dream where she stubbed her toe, then going to a cancer ward to tell a bunch of terminally ill children that she knows exactly how they feel as a result. She's a delusional lunatic.

Ruby? Lying? How very dare you…
In case anyone is in any doubt - I have recently been blocked from Ruby's YouTube channel because I asked - very politely - how much money we had all raised from watching the adverts in her "bullying" video (the one she took down). She had previously assured me that the money would still be donated, even although she had removed the video. But when asked how much had been raised, I was blocked. Enough said.

Staining paper with tea to make it look old and crinkly is a classic 12 year old doing a history project in school move.

More importantly, who in the sweet love of fuck puts 'play with dogs' on their to do list??? Those poor animals, if you have dogs you just play with them because... well of course you do, you love them and take care of them! What the fuck??? (I haven't seen my dogs in 7 months and really want to play with them lol this has made me bitter)

I can't see Ruby doing a PhD in the near future, as much as she expresses a love of learning, I think this year has been really hard on her and has probably highlighted her inability to think for herself.

I think another 'gap year' at home while she writes her novel in her bedroom is more likely, the regression of returning to the comfort of home in a childlike outfit was really stark.

Not quite sure I agree with the last comment 😅 I'd personally try where possible to pronounce someones name as accurate as possible, even if I didn't speak their language.
To me, anglicising someone’s name just because you’re English seems really, really rude. You pronounce someone’s name how they’d like it to be pronounced! Anglicising it just smacks of imperialism.

Anyone heard from gossip guy? Has Rumbster finally made a video so stupid and fake that she actually killed someone?
I'm alive, although her new video is definitely enough to bore me into a coma.

Ruby paid to have a vanity book printed with a Penguin Classics cover, because it's the only way she'll ever have Penguin Publishing's name on her book. Then she defaces it by covering it all in washi tape to hide the book title from viewers...a book title she was already stupid enough to reveal in previous videos.

Untitled65858rte456tr - Copy.png

The book title is 'Palisades Lost'. She showed it either intentionally or through sheer incompetence not 2 weeks ago. You can even see the Penguin Classics fake cover in the file thumbnail.

She rambles about her last book being rejected and says she knows it's part of the process. But the process is usually to work through that rejection and improve your work, or persevere until all viable publisher options are exhausted, while Ruby just started crying and yanked her book from submission right away to prevent further rejections, then made up some story about not wanting to publish it at all.

She's not build for the process of being a writer. It requires a thick skin and, most importantly, actual interest in and passion for being a writer, none of which she has.

It's an ad-ception as Ruby offers up undeclared ads within sponsored ads; Ruby advertises Skillshare, but makes sure to spend the segment advertising the content of Ali Abdaal, without mentioning that she shares the same management company and the same literary agency.

Apparently feeling self-conscious about the squalid state of her bed, with exposed mattress, sheets draped all over her dust-covered floor and bedding unchanged for weeks/months on ends, she's decide to cover the exposed mattress with a sloppy blurred square. She does not consider changing the sheets, properly fitting them to her mattress or washing her bedding.

U456745ntitled45645 - Copy.png

But because she's a completely incompetent dumbass who pays zero attention while blindly throwing footage together in editing, the square overlaps into the next clip/s, covering the sponsored segment with a distracting mess.

This is the part of the video she got paid for and it's just the laziest mess. And this isn't even the first time she's accidentally covered a sponsor segment in a mess of blurs when trying to hide her bullshit.

Ruby brags that she collects "Littol Pangwin, Big Oideas" books and has another to add to the shelf of books she'll just read a Sparknotes summary of. This one's 'Some Anatomies of Melancholy' by Robert Burton.

Ruby proclaims that it's apparently a "SAMINOL" work of early modern literature. So it's probably something well worth reading in preparation for the Masters course in early modern literature she starts in a week or so. Ruby says she might read it at Christmas instead, then gets back to procrastinating by typing more nonsense for her own book.

U456745ntitled45564675645 - Copy.png

In a completely shocking, totally unprecedented turn of events that nobody could've ever foreseen, Ruby was so preoccupied with faking stuff on the internet and procrastinating with pointless busywork that she is completely unprepared and disorganised when it comes to something important. Again.

Ruby moans that she's somehow run out of wrapping paper for her mother's birthday presents and is now being forced to recycle old paper instead. The horrors. I'm old enough to remember when Ruby was performatively bragging that she AWHLWHEYS YEEZES REESOYCULLED PAYPAH! (It was less than a year ago.)

I'm not at all shocked that she's tossed all uni prep aside to focus on her latest plagiarised mess of a book. She's no doubt still expecting a quick and easy book deal to land in her lap moments after going on submission. And I completely believe that she's desperately clinging to the hope that it'll happen really soon so she has an excuse to drop out of uni unscathed to focus on her "literary career". It's not going to happen and she's clearly living in a fantasy world to expect it, but the timing has now lined up so that, if her agent sends this out on submission, Ruby'll be receiving publisher rejections in droves right at the time she's getting undoubtedly disappointing grades back from uni.

She's her own worst enemy.

I think earlier some people were asking about whether Malala may have been at Vee's book launch and tbh I've always felt that Vee made a beeline for Malala and has used her to help build her brand. On her sixteenth page it has a photo of her and Malala and it's like, if she was just your best friend and not a marketing opportunity why would you put her on your agency page?

All these influencers will ultimately do whatever it takes to get fame and views - whether it's Ruby advertising stuff she'd never use, Jade lying about her life, or Vee strategically making particular friends. It's utterly depressing.

Translation:

"People have noticed that I just recycle the same four songs over and over for every video I ever make. I'd love to add a fifth song to the repertoire, but the price has to be right; I really need someone who's a fan, so that I can leverage that to convince them to let me use their work for pennies while making thousands for myself.

Don't worry, the exposure you get will be better than monetary rewards. When people hear your song in my video, awkwardly clipped and horribly compressed, barely audible, or possibly at ear-drum-bursting volume, they'll really hear your song in the best circumstances possible.

Be sure to tell me about yourself, too! Must be 12 years old and love tea!"

Ruby really claims that she has standards for what style of song will fit her content like she hasn't just been shoving Christmas music into all her videos year-round.

I think she was well intentioned it just strikes me as something you would think to do when you're younger and don't fully understand funding and things, I think she has a bit of a hero complex mixed with privileged naivety
