I’ve largely been sitting back today and watching this unfold. I’ve commented on her blaming her 3rd party IT system, but that’s still her responsibility.

Another thing I agree with massively, is those who have highlighted that if it were say Cult Beauty or, heaven forbid, Boots, who cocked up in this manner, Hirons would be the consumer champion going in to bat on their behalf. Shouting all over the internet, and in the real world, to anyone who would listen. Look at how she treated Boots just a few weeks ago.

I’m sure her argument would be that they are huge companies with the infrastructure and investment in place to ensure that things like this shouldn’t happen. But I would argue that you shouldn’t be selling goods online if you don’t have an adequate infrastructure in place. You have no business setting yourself up trading online if your platform is not robust, reliable and sufficiently tested to stand up to live conditions. She got greedy and this is what happened. She’s a joke and if she’s not careful her reputation will end up in tatters. Would you want to work with her?

It sucks majorly when your skin reacts to a product, and Caroline's utter refusal to accept it might've been a product she sold is BS.
It could never been anything their Kween recommends!

Early thread title suggestion:

Caroline Hirons #22 Shiller Kween - the Del Boy of Skincare. No money back, no guarantee

I'm phoning the police to have that poem woman arrested for causing grievous bodily second hand embarrassment. My sphincter may never unclench.

"Mum died yesterday... better post a selfie!"
FFS

I'm fortunate at the age of 61 to still have my mum.

When my wife died in January 2017 (we'd been together for 32 years but obviously couldn't marry until same-sex marriages became legal), I could barely summon the will to get a shower and wash my hair - much less think about makeup or anything else. I'm sure my wife wouldn't have 'wanted' me to 'let myself go' either. I only got through the bleakness of the first year after her death thanks to the support of REAL friends.

I'm not saying the Freak who posted that didn't love her mum or that she isn't heartbroken, but who the fuck has the instinct to post to a load of (mainly) vacuous and self-obsessed cult members within 24 hours of such a profound loss?

The mind boggles.

All this sun damage / SPF-flogging is a relatively recent departure for Nellie B.

When I went to see her (I’ve tried to link comment below but it was under her #21 thread), she was exactly the opposite.

I have dual UK / Australian nationality. As you might expect (for pale, Northern Europeans who grew up under the harsh Aussie sun) everyone on the Australian side of family has had at leastskirmish with skin cancer. My Aunt (who emigrated to the UK in her early 20s & remained here ever since) had malignant melanoma. My Mum (ditto re: emigration to UK) has had 17 basal cell carcinomas excised to date.

I actually don’t much like sitting in the sun / trying to get a tan. So much so that applying SPF cream daily has been normal for me for years, I choose long sleeved tops/shirts etc

When I saw CH she berated me for this approach & said that many of my skin problems would settle if I just “got some sun”; my skin concerns at the time included redness, hyperpigmentation & really quite severe keratosis pilaris rubra all down my limbs - as I’m sure you all know, none of the above would be improved by sun exposure.

Mind you, she also asserted that “full fat coke” would cure my (long-standing) abdo pain (due to a congenital malformation of my intestines).

I was amazed that she thought she knew more than a consultant dermatologist + consultant gastroenterologist + state-registered dietitian. But that won’t surprise anyone here!

Is she for real? Pay for your treatments? After the last lockdown she went at midnight the moment she could and was all #gifted 🙄
I love this #payforyourtreatments shite.
Is she so removed from reality and stuck in her influencer bubble she doesn't realise 99.9% of the population actually fucking have to?
It isn't optional.
She should save the pay for it stuff for her private WhatsApp group with freeloading buddies like Sali Hughes.

Acid exfoliate daily. Whole face and body. Buy more moisturiser. Don’t go outdoors. Use an antioxidant when looking at a screen. Wear SPF if you have a window. Double cleanse. Buy more products. Don’t eat sugar. Don’t drink. Don’t sleep on your front or back. Get fillers and Botox in case you need to leave house after sundown. Buy my book and be grateful.
I just read that in the style of Renton from Trainspotting 😂

After seeing the Daniel Mays comparison 😂 it was bugging me who else she reminded me of. After seeing the sniffing video a few posts ago it clicked. Mel Smith.

I've just finished watching the rant because I wanted to know what this was all about. I do agree with lots of what she said. No one expects her to work for free, obviously things have a cost, there are bills to pay and lots of work goes into everything. She clearly works a lot, you can see from her eyes always looking exhausted. I was a follower of hers since the early days around 2012/13 when I trusted her opinions, and way before she changed and I think that change came from her believing her hype. I Like many commenters here have shared how she had ruined our skin, we have to take responsibility for choosing to follow her advice which I do. But, and a big but is that she gave that advice and sweeping statements that this will solve all your problems "apart from only very sensitive skins", which seemed to be her one and only statement of caution.

We now know that her opinion is just one opinion across millions of other estheticians, and clearly not the correct advice for many. But she chose to tell people how honest and trustworthy she is and bullied and belittled many brands and people in the industry to cement her place, which good for her has turned her into a millionaire. People are wise to this now and she can't deal with any criticism or calling her out. I remember around 2014 when it was mostly if not just the blog and people would comment on the posts and have interactions with her, she said many times she hates dermalogica and does not recommend their products since Paula left the company. However, now she's getting paid by them she recommends them. It's one of the many thing's she's getting called out for and I can't sympathise with her for that.

She is no longer honest and believable here to help people but is a brash, money hungry opportunist. She has got too big for her boots, plain and simple.

I’ve been gone for a while from both Tattle and social media (think pre-pandemic).
I used to be a fan of CH’s blog and her advice was very useful for me to level up my skincare, I still use many of her old recommendations. Her brash manners and her lack of kindness really turned me off and the more her fans became cultish, the less enthused I was.
it was easy then to start seeing the cracks in her honesty, and to see that she was as bad as all the others with the undeclared ads etc etc.
So seeing that she’s turned herself into the internet equivalent of a old school market fishmonger is not at all a surprise to me.

however I’m really grossed out at her weird “momager” stuff on her daughter’s shocking IG feed, telling off accounts that offer “collabs” because they “can’t afford my daughter”. Gross.

“Lady H” is no Kris J and her daughter is no Kim K.

Rich of Caroline to say White people shouldn't police Black women's feelings when she has a history of doing exactly that. She can police herself away from talking about us like she knows about us, and should police her daughter away from her minstrel show tendancies..
