These threads are beginning to annoy me- just because some of us don't like her posts/ads/dancing etc, doesn't mean we don't feel empathy for her or wish any ill of her. It's awful what she's going through. However I still find her difficult to relate to and sadly by putting herself in the public eye, people will have an opinion on it. I wish that could just be said on here without others jumping down our throats that we have no empathy etc. We do. But it doesn't mean we have to like everything she posts or presents 🤷🏻‍♀️

The people who seem to defend BB are as annoying as BB.

1).It’s fact that the rich who shout the most seem to get the best care. Why is Deborah not shouting about the inequality in care? Because she benefits from it. She leaves those without the best care to fight the system. She is very much part of the problem.

2) Her Instagram is 0.01% awareness and the rest is all ‘look at my short skirts, look at me tousling my hair, look at my make up, look at me going to nice places’. I have never seen anyone so obsessed by themselves.

3) She’s a dickhead. A dickhead with cancer but still dickhead. Lots of instagrammers are dickheads and when you try to say ‘er you’re being a bit of a dickhead about this’, you get blocked. So people come on here to say ‘I think they’re being a dickhead’.

4) She is dying, it is very sad for her family and her. Nobody wants her to die. But people do die and it does not excuse number 3.

I’ll be honest - cancer GoFundMes make me really uncomfortable. I have every sympathy for families who have been told they’ve reached the end of the line; they’ll do anything to extend the life of their loved one, of course they will… but the private doctors offering a glimmer of hope for the exchange of vast sums of money are totally immoral.

Sometimes I think it’s better to accept end of life care than die in the midst of some experimental treatment that was never going to make a difference.
I take it you DONT have cancer your comment is beyond crass!!! I have cancer I have had to crowdfund. What right do you have to say my life is not worth fighting for!!!! If there is a glimmer of hope to extend my life my god I will take it. Going by your argument I wouldn’t have joined a clinical trial 2.3 yrs ago as I should have crawled under a rock and died!!! I did join a trial and it got me into remission YES currently cancer free. You have absolutely no idea how horrifically hurtful your comments are I just hope if you ever get cancer you are brave enough to take your own advice … SHOCKING!!

This thread is very informative. It's important that people educate themselves in these matters.

Thank you to all those who have shared their medical knowledge and experience.

I think all influencers should be banned from using the phrased ‘I’ve teamed up with…’ and instead be made to say ‘I’m being paid cold hard cash to advertise…’

Honestly it's not just one thing that annoys me. If I were in her shoes I would be accepting every ad that comes my way. This may sound awful but I just don't like her. It's her. Not her cancer, Ads, dancing, private healthcare it's her. Deborah is her own biggest fan and just not my kind of person. As I said before, Jade Goody did the exact same things and I was all "good for her" but Deborah is just not relatable or likeable to me. And that's fine. Just because she has cancer doesn't mean we have to like her

I've looked after several patients with portal hypertension and oesophageal varices.....don't know of any who would have been able to write a lengthy dissertation of their treatment after a traumatic stay in hospital if in fact they'd even survived ....but that's maybe because I worked in the NHS and didn't have consultant's private telephone number to hand ( it takes time to mobilise staff required for endoscopy and treatment for bleeding varices, especially if it out of hours emergency...many NHS hospitals simply do not have these facilities )
it's the hypocrisy I can't stand....we are definitely not all in the same boat when it comes to treatment options in the U.K.
my brother died of metastatic bowel cancer and wasn't offered anything like the treatment BB has had

How bad is that, unless you personally know a specialist then your life is in the hands of the NHS. It makes me feel very sick and very worried.
My mum had aggressive kidney cancer and died six years ago - she was only 60. She was allergic to morphine, wore a red wristband to signal this (given to her at pre-op) yet was still given morphine during her nephrectomy. I was told she was having a bath when I got there to visit her late on, but in fact she'd collapsed in the loo and no one was aware.

Anyway, she'd been told by the NHS that there wasn't any other option than morphine for palliative pain relief. We went to the Marsden with the aim of getting her on a clinical trial when her options ran out, but the team there discovered her lungs were peppered with holes and tumours, so not only could she not join the trial but they quarantined her in a private room there because they thought she might have TB.

A specialist at the Marsden revealed there were palliative pain relief options other than morphine, so thank fuck she had them and lo and behold, when we were transferred back to the NHS, the same pain relief was available there.

It makes me sick to think that if we hadn't happened to find ourselves confined to the Marsden, she'd potentially have died either very sick from morphine or in great pain without it.

I agree that they probably have very little in common apart from a shared cancer experience, however if we’re talking about relentless flogging and ads then Lauren more than gives Deborah a run for her money, in fact I think she’s way worse. Practically everything in her flat seems to be gifted or have an affiliate link. It’s clearly her main income nowadays but that doesn’t make it any less annoying. Given her regular get aways to Soho Farmhouse it would appear her finances have improved…unless those are freebies too.
Nothing Could Possibly Be Worse Than Lauren Perpetually Capitalising Every Single Word In Her Captions.

I unfollowed her for this reason. It drives me crazy 😂

Dior tote bags cost £2400-£2600.....so relatable 🙄 when so many cancer patients are just about keeping a roof over their heads and reliant on benefits

Yes the same as the whole rhetoric around cancer being a fight/battle. People who have died from cancer haven’t done so because they didn’t fight hard enough, they haven’t lost their battle. My mum didn’t lose her battle with cancer, she never stood a chance, her whole body was ravaged by it.

Right, so let me get this straight...she's not going to share in her words her, 'incredibly traumatic' near death experience on Instagram to her loyal followers, but has written a column about it (for the vile Sun newspaper, questionable morals) and is releasing her voice notes on the podcast....all of which will incur both having more listeners/readers. Just when I thought she couldn't get any worse! Contrived or what.
And being paid for! 🤬 So she was very ill clearly, but she managed to call her doctor ( has his private number!!) he just ‘happened’ to be going to the hospital, she was shocked at the ambulance waiting time and is angry, husband ‘Blue lighted her ther🤷‍♀️ She was then rushed in and taken care of….then we have Monique, showing what I imagine is the more realistic side of most peoples experience with advanced cancer. She will get on a trial no doubt, whilst others will be told you are too ill.

I’m just reading her post in the car just as I’m about to go into the gym. I am crying. OMG my heart goes out to her. She’s been a fighter I am just devastated for her. God bless you Deborah and may you look down on us all from heaven whilst you’re dancing x

Not the point. Nurses should not be discussing a current patient of the hospital or their feelings about her with another bloody patient. It is completely unprofessional. 'Objective and clear professional boundaries' are NOT being respected here and if you disagree, why not approach the RM and ask them? Because they will take a very dim view of any nurses expressing opinions on the conduct of a current patient to another patient, especially when it is in the context of criticism.

"...went on to say that they were flabbergasted by her inappropriate behaviour during treatment - the prancing around and disturbing everyone as well as wasting nursing time being demanding… so it’s very telling the staff at the RMH really hate her as well and that was before the recent admission to hospital."

20.6 stay objective and have clear professional boundaries at
all times with people in your care (including those who have
been in your care in the past), their families and carers
20.7 make sure you do not express your personal beliefs
(including political, religious or moral beliefs) to people in
an inappropriate way.
20.10 use all forms of spoken, written and digital communication
(including social media and networking sites) responsibly,
respecting the right to privacy of others at all times.

You might not like me saying this because obviously, it's easy to dismiss as 'supportive' of BB (it is not). What it is is a reminder that one day that patient being spoken about to another patient could be you. It's shitty.

It's perfectly okay to dislike BBs behaviour on here, whilst being supportive of her right NOT to be discussed by the staff with others.
Feel we are moving away from the point of the thread with all this. Am sure she won't mention her nurse's point of view again (i would just frame it as my own).

Bowel babe still remains a dick.

When you have someone like Deborah and Monique who have, statistically beaten the odds to still be here 5 yrs after stage four diagnosis, I think it must be very hard to accept the fact this might be it, they have overcome so many situations in the past, i can totally understand them and their families thinking, they will beat this, they’ve done it before. It’s heartbreaking, but I guess there comes a point where they and only they make the decision to take more medication/pain relief. I do think even though for a lot of us looking in and seeing how Ill they are, it will still be a shock when the news comes of them passing., which sadly I feel will be sooner than later. I hope they both take comfort in the fact that they have undoubtedly saved lives by sharing their stories. I just feel incredibly sad for them both and so sad for Deborah’s children.

Cancer aside - Deborah and her family are just weird. Very very very strange people. I find Deborah hard to watch - when she talks, she constantly does this weird gurning thing with her mouth, when she pauses between sentences she sort of pulls her mouth back and inhales…. It’s weird. You can imagine her doing it as a teacher.

Had to come and comment on Monique, how bloody awful her hospital decided🤯 NOT to tell her of her new tumour because there was nothing that could be done about it, but now, after other Oncologists have looked at it, it can have treatment!? Why? Id be asking what’s changed and how dare they deem to think they can choose not to tell me things about my body!! Disgusting. As for BB commenting, well Deborah of course you had this done, you are private!! And privileged, why are you not shouting about this? ( in the past, not now, I get she’s very I’ll) When an ambulance doesnt arrive for you you’re straight on it. 🤬
The cynic in me thinks that it seems very much as though they decided to save time and resources and not give her the option because her illness is so advanced.
Unfortunately for them and fortunately for Monique, her oncologist friend rumbled them so they’ve “suddenly” discovered that there’s an option.
It’s truly beyond disgusting, and actually quite scary.

So that was a real picture from her garden the other day, on day release from hospital, the MRI picture might well be real time too, the Lorraine pre record is still to be shown and she's eating MaccyD's. She is concentrating on her health ( as so many posters have hoped she would do so), acknowledges she is jaundiced, that she has "rebellious hope" but many of the comments above may be a tad premature
