Yeah the t shirts weren’t free they still had to pay LOL

can we also remember (sorry if it’s been said I’ve just followed) that she also did this to fans who’d come from around the world to watch her Wembley shows. Pulled out at the final hour. Promised they’d have priority for her next shows and then they never did. A lot of confused fans on Twitter when she announced the Hyde park dates as they’d been expecting priority. Disgusting way to treat fans.

My understanding from articles I’ve read is that Adele, being the perfectionist that she is, has strategically placed the best people to manage her music, image, social media, play on her tracks etc.
Sounds about right.

I'm probably repeating myself, but the thing that really turns me off her is the "omg I'm going to get in so much trouble for playing this song" faux stuff. Oh bore off 😴

The image she projects and who she actually is are two very different things. Maybe it's helped her be more commercially successful to downplay her involvement and how savvy she is? But either way it's disingenuous.

I hate Sam Smith too! I had my second baby recently and someone on the labor ward was giving birth to Sam Smith, why would you do that to your newborn baby! The sounds of Sam Smith and a woman screaming in labor are now etched in my memory forever 😂

Edit it sounds like someone was giving birth to him literally, not what I meant obvs 😂

My take on a Las Vegas residency is that it would be the type of show where you couldn’t do simplicity even if you wanted to. I mean the very name Las Vegas conjures up glitz and glamour.
Even if that's true and a massive spectacular was planned, I am sure the ticket holders for this first weekend would have been a lot happier if she'd just stepped out on a black curtained stage with a pianist and a spotlight, said "sorry the big show isn't ready so I'm going unplugged!!!!!" and just sung on her own. Rather than complete cancellation.

It's also not been explained why the whole residency has been cancelled, and not just the first one or two weekends? Why is she not throwing herself and her team into rehearsals this week and picking things up next weekend or February?

If these shows ever do happen, they're now going to have to be incredibly good, and have a cast of hundreds, to make this weekend's excuses make any sense.

Seems like she’s pulling out of the BRITs next week too. I didn’t even know she was booked to perform. This ‘30’ era of hers is truly spiralling like never before 🥴
That doesn’t help things at all. She could have turned up and put on an amazing performance, then people would be talking about that instead.
Especially because it was a Brits performance that really helped her break through, people would have been so hyped to see her.

Oh my god I HATE Sam Smith! I’ve only three stations tuned into my car and today Sam was being played on one, Adele on the other and Ronan Keating on the last! Considered driving myself off the bridge tbh. Sam spits down the fucking radio ffs cba

I don't think she can hack it - simple as that. A residency is intense and I think she knows she'll knacker her voice completely. As others have said, all she needs is a LBD every night, an orchestra and a few lights. It's not like it's going to be full-on pyrotechnics and acrobats hanging from the ceiling. Reminds me of when Gaga's tour got cancelled and there were all sorts of rumours swirling around that.

Always thought a Vegas residency was a weird move for someone who is essentially still at their commercial peak. Definitely more to this than meets the eye.

I get her point, but it's one thing to say you hope everyone listens to your album in order (which most people probably do on first listen anyway), and another thing entirely to get the world's biggest streaming service to completely remove one of its functions on your say-so

Just more evidence of how far removed she is from the real world now 🤷

It seems really obvious with the brits in recent years that the artists know when they’re going to win or they won’t bother turning up. Compare little mix’s very unsurprised reaction last year for the best group to when they won their first ever brit. Same with Adele, they would have to tell her she’s won to get her there IMO. But it was like she couldn’t be bothered to act surprised. I also think looked like she was scared of getting booed, definitely didn’t want to be there.
Yeah I'm sure The Spice girls or someone said years ago they were told they had won before the event. Adele looked like she couldn't be arsed well neither can we love!

Ah - bit of damage limitation with Graham.
This post seems a bit sarky to me. Is that really the best look when you’ve let so many people down? 🤔
Not sure who is advising her but that post seems in real bad taste? Why is she holding a playing card….. is that a two fingers to Vegas? And as for the reference to the boyfriend , that’s like something a teenager would do. I see she’s nominated for a few awards at the Brits, I presume she must be sure she’s going to win when she’s showing up for them.

She's absolutely had weight loss surgery, she has the same gaunt expression weight loss surgery gives you due to the fast losses. She looks great. But it's clear she's ashamed to admit the truth. At least she's not pretending she followed some crazy diet, she's been very quiet about it all.
She’s not even addressed the weight loss, she barely uses social media, so how can you say she’s ashamed? Celebrities don’t OWE you anything

You have a choice, she does not sadly. Her management and label practically own her, they book tours and shows and tell artists you’re going. It’s why shows often get cancelled last minute, Justin Bieber, Zayn, James Arthur there is lots who cancel last minute because of anxiety they have nothing to do with their own schedules!

Plus, if that is the real reason, no one should give her a hard time because anxiety is awful. People forget these are just normal humans like you and I and this is just a job. Yes it comes with massive repercussions but it is just that, a job. If you are not well in yourself, then you’re not and you can’t judge someone for that.

We can judge for the shadiness of it by cancelling less than 24hr before not a week. That is wrong! But again, probably not her she’s the face taking the blame but it was probably management dragging it along!
You're describing the management of something like a K-pop band. Adele is 15+ years of being famous and one of the biggest names in the world. Sure she doesn't have control of everything but she's certainly not a manufactured puppet.

Really, what was being said?
Not up to it, not a touring artist etc

I think her PR team will play the mental health card for this one. Telling everyone they need to be kind etc. Then we'll get to hear all about LA Millionaire Adele's woes.

It makes no sense to me that they’ve cancelled the ENTIRE residency 24 hours before for the 2 reasons she’s given. There’s definitely another reason.

If it’s for positive COVID tests in her crew then it only needs to be for a sufficient amount of time for them to isolate and test negative, then they could start, it just wouldn’t be on the intended opening night date.

If it’s for logistical/delivery reasons then it’s been very poorly organised, we’re almost 2 years into a pandemic and the whole industry is aware of the problem. Again, as above you’d only have to cancel the first initial dates giving you extra time to set up? Once all the equipment/staging is there you don’t have to move it or worry about logistics again, that’s literally one of the main selling points of a residency to an artist.

The shows were only scheduled every weekend? Surely only the opening weekend and maybe the one afterwards would have been okay to go from? That’s still the entire run of February-April?

Editing to add: I’ve basically just waffled and echoed exactly what the two users above me have posted whilst I’ve typed this out, sorry! 😂

Face like a slapped arse all through the Brits. She really doesn’t seem to like turning up to work commitments does she. What’s her problem? Five-year holiday not long enough?
