The industry rumor is that she’s pregnant and spiraling because she’s still on the uppers she used to take off the weight

The covid isolating excuse doesn’t add up. Surely that would mean a few cancelled shows - not the whole residency?

I suspect that she initially wanted to do it because of greed. Despite already being loaded - she couldn’t resist the cash.

I doubt her voice would be able to take the hammering, if she had even attempted to do the residency. She basically shouts - her voice would have been knackered in no time.

I’m not a fan, as I don’t like her shouty vocals and wishy washy songs.
I am angry on her fans behalf though - the travel / hotel costs etc that they won’t get back.

I’ve never liked Adele, I cannot pinpoint why, I think her singing voice is whiny and her songs deathly dull and I’ve never understood the adulation of her at all. I never tell anyone IRL as everyone seems to love her?! But further to that, I find her obnoxiously smug. She clearly thinks she looks amazing (and she does look nice, but let’s face it it’s all bought and paid for), and just the bestest of the best. I think her ‘engagement’ is as real as her cheekbones and she now plays at fame, plays the media and plays her fans.

I’m an accent swapper. I was raised in a north east pit village, spent my adult life in East London/Essex but work as a city lawyer. I do Geordie when I’m up in Newcastle, a weird cockney/geordie hybrid at home and public school posh when I’m working 😂

I can’t judge people for it, except for Adele…I judge her because she’s just fucking fake.

I am not sure about her in this pic - I think she looks too thin in my opinion.

She is definitely too thin now imo. Thin doesn’t necessarily equal healthy, that’s the ridiculous myth that’s been damaging health of so many women. People naturally come in all shapes and sizes and it’s just the current beauty cult of thinness that’s responsible for the kneejerk belief that a person who lost loads of weight is better off, no matter how they lost it or whether they are now too thin. Adele imo looked great a couple of years ago. She slimmed down, was radiant, yet still looked curvy and like herself. This suggested that she lost weight by improving her nutrition and exercise regime, which is just about the only healthy way to lose weight even if it doesn’t last forever. But if she carried on working on it she could probably maintain it in the long term, if that’s what she wanted. This now imo can only be a result of diet pills, starvation of some kind or gastric band surgery (which should only be used in life-threatening obesity, and it carries a long-term health risk from malabsorption, nutrient deficiencies etc) and not only is it not healthy to lose so much weight (I’m talking from her original size, not when she already slimmed down) it aged her terribly. Yes she looks like a model in an evening gown and on some carefully shot pictures but not everyone can achieve a model look with healthy methods so why aspire to it other than shame and peer pressure? Most people who lost weight in a healthy way know that at some point weight loss plateaus, not because we or our bodies are bad/lazy/wrong but because our bodies know when to stop. To lose that extra weight and make yourself unrecognisable is only possible with quite damaging methods. It might look impressive but is it really worth it in the long term, considering that it usually has a yo-yo effect of bouncing back? I do feel sad seeing her like this, although I’m happy she is having fun, and I hope she can go back to being happier. Divorce sucks and especially for women who don’t naturally conform to beauty standards.

You can cheat a gastric sleeve with ice cream or putting your KFC in a blender apparently
Yep, you can. I have a relative who's had a gastric bypass (the biggest op, I believe). She lost 17 stone ... and is in the process of putting it all back on again because she blends her bacon rolls, takeaways, etc. Cost her roughly £18000 to be thin (if you ignore the hanging skin) for a year. Her problem, sadly, is in her head. No surgery will "fix" her.

Does anyone else think it was weird she recognised him. Her son is 11. I was at the doctors 6 months ago and wouldn’t recognise the doctor now never mind 11 years 😂

I don’t think they get a refund on flights/accommodation though which will be a killer 😞
Adele should have offered those people some compensation. All the people who travelled for the opening night must be so pissed off over the money they spent out which could've been thousands. I hope they try to sue her if she doesn't offer them anything.

I don't understand her reluctance to do live gigs and connect with fans. Tours can be gruelling but that's the part that most artists love the most.
I guess you can be a singer who just releases albums occasionally (Kate Bush did that decades before her) but not interacting with the public will certainly her popularity fall off.

So what does Adele want to do all day?
I don't believe that she does 3 workouts a day and nobody can keep that routine up forever. Sounds really boring to me.
Lounging around on a big mansion in California is going to get dull rather quickly.

I know she's popular and successful but I can't bear her voice or songs. I'm at a loss to understand why she's such a big deal.

The best female artist IMHO is Polly Jean Harvey who's on Bowie's level of creativity and genius.

Plenty of replacement stage crew available in Vegas although they are heavily unionised over there so maybe she's done or said something to make them all walk away, but I doubt it, we would have heard about it by now. Warehouses full of equipment just waiting too, but let's face it at the end of the day being a singer she ought to be able to just walk on stage with just a few musicians and the house lights and still put on something of a show, even if it's not super polished.

No this is entirely just her not being able to or not wanting to appear, for whatever reason, and all the attempts to claim "the show is not ready" or blame it on suppliers or workers or deliveries are simply bullshit. It's on her.

I think it’s bloody ridiculous to rinse fans globally off the back of your heartbreak then cancel a residency and leave people out of pocket cos you’re rowing with your new bf. And then rub it in with a shitty insta post. I’ve been in her position, I had kids young, I got divorced after barely any length of time married. Totally get it’s a headfuck. But Jesus for all of us who have been through it, she’s definitely profited the most, so at least see through your commitments

Why put all that about her new house on Instagram when she's still not rearranged dates for concerts that fans bought tickets for.................

Talking about rubbing noses in it
