Respecting her son's privacy doesn't make her less maternal? Personally I think it's refreshing that she doesn't wheel him out like so many other celebs do with their kids.

What a ridiculous comment. There’s nothing normal or relatable about morbid obesity.

The “skinny look” that you mention is simply a healthy weight. The obesity crisis - with 70% of people being overweight or obese - has distorted people’s perspectives so severely that they now believe obese looks normal and healthy, and that normal and healthy looks malnourished.

Good for Adele for taking care of her health, whichever method she used. She has now decreased her risk of diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and even dying of covid.

I used to be very underweight, and I have been picked on my whole life. It was brutal and happened with far greater frequency than fat girls suffered. What made it worse was that both friends and foes feel entitled to insult you when you’re skinny.

I agree the body posi movement is hypocritical and toxic. It’s also delusional. Not everything is beautiful.

I prefer body neutrality and self-kindness over self-love, which means it doesn’t matter if you’re unattractive, because looks are unimportant. It’s much easier and less pressure than deluding yourself into thinking you’re beautiful and fabulous, and loving yourself.

(Still trying to accept my acne though, so I’m not there yet!)

There are some fairly lurid tales doing the rounds on other platforms (Reddit for example) from people who claim to be based in Vegas and/or in the industry.* They pretty much all say that Adele wasn’t into this thing from the outset and there were problems after problems. One said it didn’t even get as far as full rehearsals/soundchecks. Others say she had massive objections to the staging. One even said she had tantrums and took to ripping pieces off the staging with her bare hands. (If true, that does make me a bit curious to see this staging and what was so bad about it).
Also, that story about holding an audition for backing singers/choir - those auditions were reportedly only 2-3 weeks ago. If true, isn’t that rather last minute?

*Obviously there’s no way of verifying these people are who they say they are, this being the internet. Interesting if true, though.

Of course she can be arsed to turn up at the Brits. It’s full of industry big-wigs and fellow celebs. Those are the people she cares about.

I watched the latest carpool karaoke, followed immediately by the one they did back in 2016, and my GOD it is like a different person. She looked like a normal average woman back then. Skip to the latest one and she's had a full face and body makeover....nose done, lips done, teeth done, chin done, hair done, filler, botox, mammoth weight drop, total wardrobe overhaul. It's sad to see!

I see her point...but I'll listen to music however the hell I want to, thanks.

I read it as a massive FUCK YOU to the press and the rumours they are pretty much passing off as fact.

It's really not a good look though.

Don't normally stray into this thread but I just saw her collection of little shruggy "oh me again" award reactions on the news and found it incredibly infuriating!

What a fucking greedy guts flogging her favourite wine that normally retails for $30, for 75 fucking dollars. And urging her fans to go and spend more of their money on her merch for a show they won’t be going to. She should have said go in and take what you guys want I’ll take care of it. Greedy pig needs cancelling

Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna etc, etc are far bigger than she will ever be and all did grueling tours that included dancing and not stood still in one spot, she is a total fake lazy ass celeb who will not be remembered as a icon in the long run, she's ruined any iconic fame due to her lazy can't be bothered attitude.

Might be controversial but I think she looks prettier when she was slightly heavier. Her face and make up are too harsh and she dresses like an 80s ex wife

totally agree with you! It’s no ones business and just because she’s a celebrity does not mean she has to share every detail. I think people are pissed because she was a bigger girl that lots of people related to, but now shes not it seems like people almost feel betrayed?? It’s pathetic. It just comes across as jealousy. What was she meant to do stay fat her whole life just to please her audience and stay “relatable”. Honestly good on her if she feels happier in her skin then fair play.
