I mean, she didn't even have active cancer, as far as the public has been told if I remember correctly. She had surgery, something removed, cancer cells were found there, so mop-up chemo? Correct me if I am wrong. Preventative/adjuvant chemo sucks, I'm sure it is terrifying, and I'm glad she's well; but it's different than what Charles is currently going through.

I think it all speaks of very slick PR moves to show the happy families and I've not been well, now I'm better, yet I don't intend to do much in the way of public duties ever again, so here's an over-produced video. It is leaning hard into the 'Brave saint Kate's CANCER BATTLE, how dare you criticize her/William ever again' vibe in tabloids as well.

Having seen my father in law wither away suffering horrifically from cancer and treatment it kind of puts a bad taste in my mouth.

I’m going through ‘neo adjuvant’ chemo at the moment and it’s the same as any other chemo. For me it’s just means it’s before two big surgeries and the purpose is to shrink the cancer as much as possible before the operations. Adjuvant is referring to the timing not the shit that is being pumped into her

I thought it was so beautiful and emotional I think she has been really poorly and on top had to endure such hate and awful ridicule about her and her marriage etc. maybe people will realise she’s a mother, wife, sister and daughter. I don’t think she’ll be back full on for a long while if at all.

Her dress was gorgeous, and I liked that she co-ordinated with Camilla. Whoever is dressing Camilla is knocking it out of the park right now, she looks absolutely lovely. The red outfit she wore to the Tower of London was fab too. She is such a stoic support to Charles, I always get the feeling she loves the man but not the role he has.

I have always thought that they downplayed just how bad it was for the sake of the kids and there is a sense in that video of just how ill she was.

Like Anne, she has a work wardrobe and just rewears the same stuff time and time again, that’s what Kate needs to do. If you want to be seen as a workhorse and not a clothes horse then do some work! Rewear the same stuff and give the press something of substance to talk about other than what you wear and how nice you were to kids. The reality is that she’s a stepford princess and if she wants to be seen in her own right she needs to start speaking up. The palace and the press just infantilise and make excuses for her, maybe her brush with her own mortality has made her stop and think about what she wants from her life because she could do soooo much. Won’t be long before,the summer holidays are coming round, team up with some organisations and try and get free or subsidised days out, release a booklet with easy places to visit, put together some resources for working parents etc. practical, helpful things, not just “early years are important” because we know that!

My theory - there was never cancer. Will was cheating. Kate stopped eating, was frightfully thin even for her before she disappeared from public eye. She wanted out. Cheating was her deal breaker. The Royals go into full crisis mode. Weeks and months of negotiations and damage control. Will puts his back up at her demands as princes and kings have always had discreet indescretions. Kate stays firm and won't stay in marriage unless therapy is had and faithfulness is restored. She's out of there if mistress(es) remain. The public disrupt the work being done with crazy theories about why Kate had disappeared. They obviously can't be truthful and reveal what's really going on - that the couple have separated due to Will cheating and Kate refusing to turn a blind eye as was expected of Royal wives before her and that they are in therapy to see if it can be repaired. So cancer story is concocted. Kate is seen without her engagement ring. She refuses to wear it. It reminds her of Charles' cheating and the mess with Diana and now her own mess with Will. She agrees to do a video, but will not wear engagement ring. Cancer story is bought into by public. Much work remains to be done to save marriage. Wills is drinking a lot and even does public engagements where he is visibly swaying and unsteady on his feet. Eventually the couple decide on their future together. A new start. The over the top video is released showcasing their love commitment and happy family. Also showing mistresses that Kate has won. Will is comitted to marriage and monarchy. Kate refuses to ever wear the engagement ring again. As far as she is concerned it is representative of toxic traits of royal life. She wears a new ring to symbolise their new start. It was a close one. Their divorce would have been the end of the monarchy. It was incredibly high stakes. Kate had a lot of power in the negotiations. Will was told to grow up and keep it in his pants. They were afforded all the time they needed. Lying to the public with some help from media was a necessary tool to protect the monarchy. Popularity is their lifeline. Let's see how long it lasts.

I would number my child rather than use the same name of a woman that caused hurt to my sister.

I think she’s been more ill than was let on. Nine months seems a long time for mopping up.
She also seems to be saying that she’s not out of the woods yet.
I wish her well. As I do anyone else dealing with this or watching a loved one go through it.
Cancer is a bugger. I get that money and privilege gets you better treatment but I can’t begrudge her dealing with this in the way she wants to, for herself and her family.

She's always been lean. She's had health issues. Millions of fucking people criticize every move she makes down to the fucking plasters on her fingers.
Christ I'd be cautious of my weight if I was in her shoes.

Not sure if people are in denial about how emaciated Kate is looking at the minute? She does not look really well at Wimbledon. Her waist is the same size as her daughter's for goodness sake. I hope she's doing okay.

It’s very effecting, C saying “I’m with you, hand in hand”. I can’t really articulate why. I have quietly always wondered if her journey was akin to my Dad’s, which ultimately took him quickly in the end.

The original, hopeful, plan was surgery to remove but in fact more was found elsewhere during surgery. So pivot to chemo. Which he never got to have.

Cancer took him but it didn’t beat him.

Lovely lovely video. Really made me well up. Lovely to see them all interacting with each other as a family. Louis tree climbing and the two boys running out of the sea . Charlotte seems really close to her mum in it too and didn't want to let go of her!
As others have said you can see she's been ill as her colour isn't quite right, but so pleased to hear she's doing well.
I know so many will rip it apart and say it's all acting and fake but I love it.

With everything happening in the world, it is so lovely to have the Wales family out and about, spreading their particular brand of goodwill and cheer. I can't help it; anytime I see one of them in the papers or online, I smile, and my day immediately gets a little better. I know intellectually what they do or say has almost zero bearing on my actual day-to-day life, but the intangible joy they bring with their class and service to the British people is just so heartwarming for this very sassy Yankee.

I don’t know whether to feel sorry for you or laugh at you.

I agree that she is till very unwell. As someone who has a chronic illness and is always in pain myself, you can see it on her face. I am also thinking it is Chrons or similar. I think she wears those voluminous dresses when she is worried about eating or has a long day in case there is an issue with her body. I really don’t understand the hate for her (or for Meghan). I get that people want a republic but the constant personal attacks on social media must be draining. There really is no ‘sisterhood’ if you are a royal woman.

I do love the reaction she’s gotten at Wimbledon the last couple of years - they’re not perfect and I know we pull the poor woman apart on here sometimes but I do think she is genuinely beloved and they will be an incredibly popular King and Queen.
