It doesn’t take 6 weeks to get back biopsy results esp for a royal. I suspect what happened is that they thought they could do curative surgery meaning they wouldn’t need to tell the public. Then on a post op scan when recovering in late feb, they found out that it hadn’t been curative and so chemo required (that’s when William the missed service). Had been waiting until Easter hols to go public.
Yep, one doctor commented on this online. He said that if they had to do a major investigative surgery there must have been a serious reason for this. Most likely they suspected she had cancer

Thanks, I’m doing well.
Belittling more in regard of her cancer diagnosis.
I had all my cancer treatment on the NHS but resorted to private for surgery on a benign tumour (all expensive scans and investigations done on the NHS).
I waited 2 months to see the private consultant and a further 2.5 months for the op. Even though I was paying lots of cash for it.
It’s not as simple as all private good, all NHS bad. You’re often seeing the same consultants, just paying (lots) for it.
Indeed, my husband's consultant is one of the country's leading bowel cancer specialist. We initially consulted him privately but see him now on the NHS

Could it be that they are trying to protect the kids so trying to put a positive spin on the diagnosis?

Exactly this. The difficulty that they face is not only about how/ what they tell George, Charlotte, and Louis, but the fact that the kids go to school so they are exposed to other kids who overhear their parents talking/ see newspaper headlines/ and will see stuff on the internet. I have no doubt that their school is as protective as they can of the three of them, but they can't control every playground conversation. Things may be as 'okay' as she said they were, but they may also be a lot worse (and it's no one else's business to know that).

Or the diagnosis is positive, if it isn't they would have to tell the children anyway. Children are a lot better at coping with this stuff than adults are.

Bloody hell, the Saint Kate stories in the papers today are nauseating in their sycophancy. So much for respecting her privacy, obviously doesn’t apply to them.

They make people hate them and when they do they pull them back and get them to love them again (like they did with Diana) . The firm and media make a great team They always give you a goodie and a baddie to cheer or hiss at, like a pantomime

This is my worry, too.
Because why would someone have such a major surgery seemingly so suddenly (trip to Italy was planned etc).

Another doctor said in the Daily Fail that the fact that the treatment is preventative makes him think she will be fine.

Will anyone acknowledge that Kate sick with cancer was blamed for photoshop failure by the palace.. I mean come on, this is just a clusterfuck..Their own PR sucked so bad .
I genuinely think she photoshopped those pictures and owned up to it.
I also now think that not everyone at the palace knew what was happening with Kate, health wise. It was even said that senior officials had been kept out of the loop - understandable if true.
It seems quite clear now, that she and William were trying very hard to keep things as private as possible until they had a diagnosis and then told the children.
They may have fudged things a bit, but I can understand how they must have felt.

Eh? Who said her mum was driving her to chemo? News just said “driving around Windsor”. And if you really think she’s not getting her treatment in the comfort of her own home with a team of top doctors……
I had chemo infusions at home. I’m not royalty

I also don’t think planned surgery explains the ambulance’s that were apparently seen, so I think something serious probably came on quite suddenly and it snowballed from there

Nobody to my knowledge has ever shown anything that actually shows that the alleged ambulances involved any member of the riyal household, let alone Kate

I feel for her and thought she looked frail in the video. I think they were forced to come clean all the media hype and the possible leaked records from the hospital…hope she gets well!

They are trying to protect their children at the end the day so I imagine that’s why nothing was said before.

Whatever the operation she had must have been major and they must have suspected something wrong then.

I read on here either on this or the royal family thread someone posted that Kate had ovarian cancer that stuck in my mind …who knows what it is but hopefully she gets well soon she’s a mum with young children.

Oh really? I had seen them mentioned as fact many times so just assumed it was true and part of what caused so much of the speculation…

I don't think they could ever have expected to keep her cancer a secret. I think they were just waiting for the right time to tell people - once they had got their heads around it a bit and told the kids. I hope she wasn't forced into doing it earlier than she wanted but it makes sense for them to do it at Easter anyway with school holidays and the initial timetable they gave.

And this is part of the problem, a quick google shows various hits on TikTok and Twitter / X, all of which are pure speculation therefore far from verified fact. Many of them even state that they don’t really know. There might be something in the stories but there’s nothing to show there is.

Planned surgery doesn’t just mean getting a letter with a date 4 weeks away. It’s also means ‘you’re not having anything to eat from now, operation tomorrow’.

Don’t get your knickers in a twist about royal name protocols. King Charles should Be Charles Mountbatten as that’s what his father’s surname was. Harry is legally Henry and Megan’s real first name is Rachel. Didn’t Harry refer to William Willy in his book? Perhaps we should all call him Willy Windsor while I’m on it more the whole Windsor being a surname isn’t really a thing for them as they’re referred to more by their titles. They are the house of Windsor.
Mountbatten-Windsor I thought the Queen changed it to

I think given that their original date for her return was fast approaching along with the traditional Easter church walk when it was hotly tipped she would appear - then they had to do something knowing she wouldn’t be there. The speculation would be off the chart if they’d just been no shows.
