I’ve probably got Covid , my daughter has probably got Covid and Mr Duck has probably got Covid, I’ve been wearing a mask since last Wednesday, we are abroad , the school have called it a holiday , I’ve called it Covid no matter where you are in the world, .I’ve said we would have Covid in India , Egypt , Cornwall , Ethiopia .. Covid is Covid , they’ve told me I’ll be fined .. I told them fine I’m sending her back to school with Covid , do not contact me, she is not coming home, you can’t fine me for her not being in school with Covid, so didn’t send her home as the door will be locked no one will be in . They can’t have it both ways . They have phoned me 6 times in 90 minutes , Mr Duck3 times in one hour , grandparents, and 2 attendance officers at my neighbours door .. since Monday when I said she was sick …WHICH THEY SENT HER HOME FOR FRIDAY!

Sorry I don’t know if I’ve got the timeline of events right here. So what you mean is they sent her home on Friday because she was sick, then you took her on holiday, and you’re currently on holiday now and you’re saying she has covid, but they’re saying no it’s a holiday?

Yes, pretty much sort of , holidaywas booked ages ago without her , they sent her home Friday citing sickness , which was coincidental as she was going to stay elsewhere , we decided to take her with us due to sickness and couldn’t leave her , the sickness on Friday didn’t point to Covid . It was t that big a deal on the scale of it Friday . We haven’t tested , we have no tests, she was supposed to see GP this week but can’t as she is now with us .

Yes, but what I class as sick and her going to medical with being ‘ sick ‘ , sometimes might be different . I was teenage once and I sometimes used to go ‘ sick’ , of course she is genuine sick sometimes , I’m not her , she’s crying sick , they sent her home , family wasnt having her , she came , they have fined . I’ve now got a cough , chest ache , headache, Mr Duck. Now has headaches , body aches and sneezing and feels tit. She’s now screeching ‘ everything is loud including the sea ! ‘ .

The lack of support for chronic illness. My partner is chronically ill with no diagnosis and it is utterly life ruining, if that isn't bad enough in itself, noone will help him. He has had to beg for every test he's ever had and because they haven't shown anything he just gets cast aside and treated like it's all in his head and he's just whining. A lot of the time he gets "be grateful you aren't really ill!" because there's no physical proof. That makes it so much worse for him, because he is really ill, just as ill as anyone else with proof, if not more, but he has to deal with that while also not being believed or helped. He's gone to the ends of the earth to try and find out what is wrong with him, tried so many weird things and nothing helps and it's draining the life out of him (and honestly our entire lives) and I don't understand how we have a system where despite all that, they just don't care. Unless you are bleeding or have a massive growth it's duck off basically. You have to be half dead before anyone gives a tit and then they tell you it's too late and you should have come sooner. Figures.

So sorry your husband is going through this. Has your husband been tested for lyme disease? I've heard so many similar instances and the diagnosis being lyme disease.

My cousin had to jump through hoops to get a diagnosis of lupus, she was literally at deaths door until she got a diagnosis and treatment and by then a lot of permanent damage was done.

It’s so difficult isn’t it. I applied for disability money (not the UK) and the insurance doctor told me ‘you have no diagnosis, so no prognosis, so you are fine and can work 40 hours’. I did/do have physical proof, but because they didn’t know what it was they didn’t take it serious.

Very true. For some sport people of colour have paved the way for others. What tiger woods did for golf.. no one will ever match it.

There's a Facebook page here called Black & Irish ( something along those words!). 9 people where killed in an explosion the other day in Donegal. Their post said RIP to the 9 and especially to the family of X and Y. We send love and light etc.. The Black people who died. Thought that was very distasteful instead of just saying all 9 of them. Their deaths where worse because they where black ?

I’m so pissed off that I caught covid again and believe I know who spread it to me knowing I shield but they didn’t want to test because they had super fun plans the next week. I test regularly not just so I know if I contract it but because it’s important to not spread it. I have autoimmune compromised family (thankfully not living with me). I developed long covid the first time I had covid and it’s changed my life. I couldn’t work for a long time due to the fatigue and brain fog and I still think my mind isn’t what it was.

I guess what I’m mad at most is everyone who thinks having covid is no biggie and they just go about their life, going to parties and holidays etc not caring who they are infecting. The ones who won’t test because “it’s better not to know heehee”. duck off you selfish bints! I have met people confined to wheelchairs now who used to run marathons due to their long covid. It’s no joke and if people really knew what game they were playing, they wouldn’t roll the dice. I have a lot sympathy for those forced to work with covid but that’s another kettle of fish.

Has anyone else come across those people who don't seem to have any personality of their own but seem to reflect back what they think the people around them are like?

My BIL's wife is like this. She's taken on all the mannerisms, sayings, likes/dislikes of her in laws. Like I have no idea who she is as a person. It's so unnerving. So I'm civil of course for the sake of the family but she’s just so tofu. There's no other way to describe it. I feel awful for feeling that way but I can't shake it.

And it's a shame because my BIL is also now like a wet blanket. He doesn't engage with people, he used to be so full of life it seems but now isn't.

My ex best friend is like this. She takes on the interests of whoever is her current best friend/partner but has none of her own. For example, while we were friends, I'm not I've for going out drinking, so neither was she and she was very vocal about how she despised alcohol, and preferred to stay in. She wasn't really into music and would mainly listen to chart stuff. She got with this guy who spent his entire weekend at various social clubs, following bands (he's a lot older than her and has quite different musical tastes.) Now she's out 2/3 nights a week down the clubs, drinking and following these bands as if it's always been part of her life. I've always said she moulds herself into the person she thinks you want her to be.

You have my sympathy. I've been sick for almost 2 years now. Because I had a normal x ray and steroids didn't work, it's "anxiety". Apparently, I'm doing my peak flow wrong (it's not that hard to blow into a tube FFS!) and my spirometry is normal. But my consultant cancelled my appointment last year because he felt there wasn't enough time to discuss his findings. Because every other test comes back fine, it's either "we have no idea" or "there's nothing wrong". Apparently, it's "normal" to have coughing fits because someone's sprayed something such as deodorant. The only other person I know who has coughing fits when someone's sprayed something is my mum who has asthma, which I've been told I don't have. And no one can explain why I can't physically deep breathe. It's not painful, I just can't do it.

Because no one can physically see anything, there's nothing wrong. If there was nothing wrong, I wouldn't have had to pretty much give up running.

I do have another undiagnosed problem; but because they can see something, they're taking me more seriously. Every test is either difficult to do (my eyes shake constantly) or inconclusive.

the only inside bin ones you seem to be able to buy now are all recycled and quite frankly they are shite!
Not a week goes by without bag splitting when removing from bin or carrying outside.
today i ended up with rotten watery pepper over my foot when lifting up bag as it ripped you dont even have to have anything heavy in it..i get stronger carriers from the local corner shop!
More often than not i need to use another one to put over the original split bag so all this trying to be environmental isnt working is it if i have to use double each week!
