They sold nearly everything for the first three announced Friday and Saturday shows in the presale the other day, but looks like there's at least one Sunday show now in the general sale for tomorrow morning.

I would seriously not consider seeing the show if he's in it in any form. He gives me the ick on the most massive scale.

I watched this, Sam rider was very good. Most of the rest was hugely underwhelming. The guy playing ray Davis had a really weak voice
We watched a bit of the Big Night of Musicals, but I didn’t like how it felt like one big marketing campaign, with the extortions to ‘catch this on tour’, ‘showing in the West End until xxx’, etc. after every single performance.
We saw Sunny Afternoon in Glasgow last year. It's a fabulous show and really well staged.
If it were even ten years ago I'd make the effort just for Sam Ryder but not now, pricing is disgusting.
That's a shame BNOM was to celebrate theatre, now it's just another ad.
But that's kind of it's brief now, the whole thing along with West End Live and the Olivier Awards show, the whole point is to be one big advert. The shows send their casts, in return they want people to be reminded that they can buy tickets for the full show somewhere.
I don't mind, the more of the public get persuaded to go and see any kind of theatre, ultimately means more theatre being put on, for all of us.
to be honest I fast forwarded through pretty much all apart from The Producers (which wasnt a patch on seeing it for real). But it I live in London and go to theatre a lot (round about once a week, last week John Proctor is the Villain - amazing... next week Waitress but dreading it)... because I live in London nd live with theatre mad adult kids, and theatre is part of my life, I don't need a show like that to get me excited about shows, but those who don't live in London could be reminded by shows like this to get out any buy tickets, to have a look at tours in their local theatre etc (and that is a good thing) - I just think that as it is National Lottery night of musicals - there should be a National Lottery discount/lottery/sponsored night scheme that makes prices more accessible.
Living in London means I can go on the cheap, seat filling sites, getting in early and booking from mailing lists, or booking last minute and also my husband and daughter have access needs that get us a discount. If you live in Swindon, it costs a fortune to book in advance, pay for trains, meals out and maybe a hotel in London or Birmingham... most people would rather go on holiday... National Lottery should be making it easier for people to go as well as advertising what is out there

I had the opposite reaction to Sam Ryders performance, I was surprisingly disappointed. I thought it would be something he would knock out the park but it was one of the weakest versions ive heard overall. That combined with the other cast announced im considering selling my tickets
I do think the show as a whole is great though, theatre gets very little mainstream attention. So to get such a big showcase in prime time is brilliant. I love how it was originally a one off post covid support for the arts, but is so popular its now an annual event.
