The theatre is NOT allowing refunds despite the fact that this was not a full show, the covers were reading the script as they obviously didn’t know it, no props etc. I’m sorry but they should’ve offered something, if you’ve paid to see a show then they should’ve cancelled.I saw on TT that Legally Blonde did a concert version today because so many cast are out.
The replies to people who wanted some form of refund are nuts. ‘You saw theatre ROYALTY!!11! With 0.3 seconds of prep. You don’t know how lucky you are’. Not everyone has that mindset and I’d be pissed if I paid £70 odd for a concert version, good cast or not.Though have seen some comments from some theater fans they would have intentionally bought tickets to see Jodie Steele and Grace Mouat
I will die on the hill that “we’re putting on a concert!” isn’t a plot and Six is no more musical theatre than when I saw a reformed 911 play a throw-back gig at my local park. Fun music, cool moves (they still back flip!) and we all understand the background.Carousel is a cluster of a musical. “He beats me but I love him”
Dear Evan Hansen I cannot get on side with.
I love the music from Six but I hate the premise. They made Anne Boleyn look stupid when we know she likely wasn’t. And the fact little girls come out of that show wanting to be like “the pink one” picks me out so bad.
I have an irrational hatred of Heathers, but the songs are cool for the most part.
But that's kind of it's brief now, the whole thing along with West End Live and the Olivier Awards show, the whole point is to be one big advert. The shows send their casts, in return they want people to be reminded that they can buy tickets for the full show somewhere. We watched a bit of the Big Night of Musicals, but I didn’t like how it felt like one big marketing campaign, with the extortions to ‘catch this on tour’, ‘showing in the West End until xxx’, etc. after every single performance.
Oh this would wind me up. It's not like she decided to run it on a whim, they could have had no show scheduled for yesterday to accommodate her.I booked dracula for last month, it was cancelled as cynthia was sick so rebooked for this weekend. It was cancelled again.
Only to see Cynthia erivo bloody running the marathon today!
It puts the cover actors' reputations at risk, because even if they only had hours to rehearse, people will remember and talk about them messing up...what is worth it for the paycheck? Better to cancel a show and cite illness which is understandable, than put on a half-concert thing that is not worth the ticket price. Allow people to rebook. And it's the cast getting the flack on socials, the production team get to hide.Yeah, like someone having a go because they said Jodie kept messing her lines up… like totally understandable, she had hours to learn the role but people paid like £70+ to see a musical not Jodie…. it’s not right. I would be fuming!
She may be talented, but she needs to put the ego away. Having a look at tickets, if I decided to pay £185 for one of the best seats (plus train and hotel costs, and London isn't exactly cheap for either of those things) I'm not going to be happy if the show is cancelled because she decided to take a day off.Cynthia is exceptionally talented imho but sadly also arrogant to the core.
It's sad, she really has so much going for her but the ego ruins it.

Jings she's still superb. To paraphrase a football reference -- form is temporary, class is permanent.
*heads straight to the Carrie Hope Fletcher threadNext Cabaret duo. Now those two I have heard of
