they should put it out of it's misery and stop messing people around... cast and crew have been messed around but also the audience, who spend more than just the money on a ticket, time off work, booking meals, travel, hotels etc

100% agree with this.

It's shocking they won't just admit defeat and cancel everything.

I've never seen a production in this much of a ridiculous state, it's embarrassing.

After seeing videos of his Rocky Horror performances it’s no surprises Jason is this bad in HSM. Why on earth did they cast him?

I saw him in Rocky Horror and we questioned the exact same thing! It was so distracting and we were quite concerned by the end of it.

he was terrible in Rocky Horror! so disappointed - I had a soft spot for him from 80s and then he was in a Nick Cave video... but it was embarrassingly bad.

I've JD in loads of stuff unfortunately!!! The best was Priscilla I think cos it doesn't rely on vocals and the other performancers help with the singing. I mean I even saw Kevin Clifton in Priscilla recently and thought he was quite good.

The worst was Annie Get Your Gun!!! Mainly cos the lassie doing Annie was superb. When they were doing Anything You Can Do - he was painful!!! One of Hale and Pace (the one without the moustache) was also in the cast. Him and another cast member were making eye contact as Jason failed to reach yet another note. At the end Jason got polite applause. The lassie doing Annie got a standing ovation.

Honestly, even if I loved the show, I'd think twice about booking it if JD was in it.

I saw JD as Joseph in the 90s and then again as pharaoh in 2021 (2022?) and Lordy, the second time wasn’t good. Not even close. Even the nostalgia wasn’t enough. And Linzi Hateley was reprising the narrator that night too and she was Bob on.

I see why he keeps going - he’s getting booked!

There’s obviously a lot of people out there who will happily pay to see him. He never could sing though, even back in the day (mind you, I don’t think Kylie can either, it def hasn’t done her any harm!)

I never got into JD. I was all about Kylie. I remember liking Rick Astley the most out of the pretty boy 80s pop singer. Keep in mind I was barely starting primary school at the time. I do remember that era very clearly, though!

Argh I have tickets for burlesque next week - if they move dates I'll struggle to attend. I would definitely prefer to know sooner rather than later

i think as long as it’s not a the first few performances that week you should be fine since it appears to be the get in now that’s becoming an issue

I saw him in Rocky Horror too, he was poor enough. The HSM video looks awful though, like they pulled an audience member wearing a tracksuit out of the crowd and asked them to join in for fun. Not fair on the cast.

He did an evening with thing in our local theatre, we were there for something else and noted a group in the cafe who had travelled fair distances to come and see him at a provincial theatre. It seemed some of them were going to every date he was booked for. Producers looking at the bottom line know he has a dedicated fan base who seem to follow him around

I can only think of maybe one west end show I went to for stunt casting and that was Amber Riley in Dream Girls. Who would go to see High School Musical because he has a small part in it…. It’s mad

I listened to the 40th Anniversary cast recording of Les Mis last night and no disrespect to the cast but that's an album I shall not be playing again.

I went in hoping to enjoy the new orchestrations but I know at this point the one true version of the show will always be that original London production until around the late 1990s when it first started to get meddled with. I just wish the complete symphonic recording had Colm as Valjean and anyone else on the planet as Madame T!
