I was wondering - although I hadn't bothered to look for it, ha ha - if there was something like this online. I love behind-the-scenes type videos.

I booked for Beetlejuice the other day, they have an all seats £30/£40/£50 "Netherworld" offer on for Tuesdays and Wednesdays in November.
Looking through both the Netherworld and regular priced nights, I was surprised at how under-booked it seems to be beyond the first couple of weeks in May. Is this because they haven't really kicked the publicity machine off here yet (or if they have, not very well), and because they haven't named any principal cast yet? Or is the Prince Edward too big a theatre for it? Have they misjudged the appetite for it in London (the second film being so bad may have put a lot of people off the series?), it's booking through to April 27 but is it going to last that long?

I’ve booked the Producers for the end of the month but people seem quite down on this production. Any insights?

it is fabulous - seen it twice - very very funny - I recommend it to everyone - are you getting Richard Kind as Max when you go? was thinking of booking again ti see him
It's one of my favourite Disney movies and I was really saddened by how much they'd changed for the stage, mainly what sounds like a complete butchering of Hades... I didn't go and see it based on that. I'll always be accepting of the fact that screen to stage adapations will have differences, they usually have to so the stage can accomadate the show. Back to the Future is one where the changes worked brilliantly. There are some movies I'm just too 'married' to to want to see it done differently and Hercules is one of those.
I really wish it had been given the Frozen treatment, Hercules on stage done right would have been a huge success.
The second film was such a massive disappointment to me. I hated everything they did with the legacy characters and it was overall a too long, horribly cluttered mess.
I just stick with the first one, which I adore and always will. I do love the musical too, they did a great job staging it on Broadway.
Yes! It was some of my motivation to book. Got some cheaper seats through Central tickets.

I think its quite a niche property. The film is closer to cult status rather than a massive blockbuster. The second film did well against budget, but again wasnt a big hit with wide appeal. Add in that many fans of the film probably arent that big a fans of musicals.
The show was never that big a success on broadway, despite its revists it was always limited runs with average box office. So im a bit surprised theyre bringing it here. And to such a big theatre. Especially as its viral moment on social media was years ago now.

Don't know what it is like in its new home but it was VERY low budget in the original run at the Menier. Well it LOOKED very low budget anyway.
We thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of laughs, great performances, big numbers. Be prepared to be singing ‘Springtime for Hitler…’ without realising, it’s infuriatingly catchy!
As a 90s kid, I love the Disney movies that came out during that era. I went to see Hercules, they got Hercules, The Muses and Meg spot on but Hades very much disappointing.
The thing is, you can't really go into a Disney renaissance movie and change lots for the stage because people are going for the nostalgia. Yes they are going to have to make things work on stage but stuff like frozen and HP & the Cursed Child prove that you can make lots of stuff work on stage nowadays. Especially in London, it's not like it's on tour in small theatres.
I enjoyed Hercules much more than I expected to! I thought Pantomime Hades was great fun. But, I've never ever seen the film so had nothing to compare it to and no expectations.
I thought it had a great script, lots of amusing lines like "Dating is wondering why someone is single, and then finding out" ... not sure if that is in the film or just a common funny line that they've stolen from general life but I laughed. And I loved the sassy muses.
Let me tell you, it was a million times better than when I sat through Elf before Christmas. Now that was a turkey!
Yeah so Hades in the film has lots of quick, funny one lines but is a lot more sinister, the more pantomime comedy goes to Pain and Panic (his sidekicks which I can't remember what they changed their names to in the show).
I think it was just always used as a stop gap so they could keep Theatre Royal on the Disney books
