Merrell Crushers. They're supposed to be trail runners with a small drop, but I think they're more suited for pavement - grass. I wouldn't have been able to get along with the standard insole, but the fancy ones with high arch and metatarsal support seem to be pretty good. They came up a bit small, so I'm glad I ordered a larger size. I'm not going to be pounding the pavements or going properly off road for miles and miles, so I figured they'd do until I'm a bit more mobile/hopefully lighter/I get proper orthotics.Ooh what trainers did you go for in the end?

Well done!I have never been a runner so at the age of 50 ( four years ago) I thought I should give it a go for heart health.
I have never finished the plan of 8 weeks but that's me.
Last October I got to week 5 and was really doing well, still can't run fast or far, but was out there doing something, which is the important thing I think, then I was ill for two weeks, Lockdown 2 etc and lost the plot.
Back to week 2 today, hard for me but I did it.
Promised myself I will get to the end this time.

I read this book last year and it was quite interesting. It's written by Tim Spector who is behind the Zoe Covid App, he's also a Professor and has been researching diets, etc in twin studies for years now. I've just seen it is 99p on Amazon at the moment as a Kindle Book. He has a new book out called Spoon Fed which I haven't read.I think Dr Chatherjee book, Feel Great, Lose Weight would be a perfect read for you. I have just finished it and found it very helpful
