Tomorrow is my last day in work before the wedding.. I’m equal parts excited about it finally being here, and terrified that something will go wrong.

I’m just doing a rough draft of the seating plan, not as bad as I thought it would be to do, but have random people that don’t really know anyone so think I will Chuck them all on a table together
What do you guys think about not inviting people other half’s? We are having a very small post wedding garden party for about 40 people and we have always said, no partners, especially if we haven’t met them. One of my oldest friends is pregnant with a guy I’ve met for 5 minutes and my mum had a bee in her bonnet about me not inviting him, especially as the baby will have been born by the wedding. I’ve caved on this one but haven’t invited other people partners. I have been with Mr Bloggs for over 12 years and the few weddings I’ve been too (hardly anyone I know is married ) only I’ve been invited, except for family weddings.
If we were having a traditional wedding reception I’d get it, but we’re not. It’s at our house and space is limited and I want to share it with people I know not their partner I’ve never met. Most people know each other’s so no one will be alone per say.

! I think I saw too many embarrassing videos of weddings when I was a kid and I hate being embarrassed so it plays on my mind

Im on your mothers side with this one. I have been to weddings by myself and my bf has attended by himself too. I realise money is a factor (not all cases) and you want the intimacy etc but imo I love sharing weddings of friends and family with someone I love. But it’s your day! You do whatever you want. (they are my fiancés uncles and aunties so we couldn’t leave them out) and at night I have a few people I’ve never met, plus I’m letting people have a plus one. However, I’m having a “traditional” wedding and I have the space for 200 guests at night, so it’s not really an issue.
if I was having a gathering in my garden then yes I would be a lot more choosey about who gets an invite! Plus it’s YOUR wedding, you can invite whoever and do whatever you want, you’re paying!
