Yep we’ve managed to save up for our wedding with 5 months to go! I couldn’t imagine starting married life in so much debtOur whole wedding is coming in at about £11k. I went over budget on the dress (panic bought right before first lockdown) but other than that I've DIY'd a lot, designed all my own invites, centrepieces etc so I think I've saved on a lot. Our biggest money saving was the venue (winter package).
I think it's all about spending within your means by setting an affordable budget. It can be so difficult when it comes to venue/catering though, prices get silly!

but my invites were cheap, we got a deal on the rings & we have no transport, so we’ve saved where we can!before we booked our venue, we had a look at what money we had saved up between the two of us and we set our budget based on what money we already had in the bank. We already own a house, so we could spend what we had saved.
We've budgeted just over 22K for the whole thing (including honeymoon) but I am hoping I can get some bargains still and bring it down!
Also I should add my parents are gifting some which obviously helps.

We are getting married in Spain and it’s coming in about £18k currently. We are putting money aside each month and we may need to do that for a couple of months after the wedding too but I’m not too worried as we are having a holiday with it too and have stuff planned.
We haven’t got a honeymoon booked or budgeted for that, we will just see what we are left with after the wedding and go from there

Jeez my wedding in September is currently forecast to be about £55-60k and that’s before rings, suits, hen/stag, bridal party gifts etc. I knew weddings were expensive so I thought ours was normal but now reading here I’m wondering if we’ve gone too overboard! It’s a 4 day weekend in Tuscany so a few other things to pay for other than just the one day but still! Think I need to go and lie down haha

We are getting married in a Chateau so have hired it for the full 4 days and have paid for it outright so our guests don’t have to pay for anything other than flights. We’ve got a lot planned for the four days too so it’s not just the day we are paying for. I know it sounds excessive but, life is so short we just want to make the most of it! We are fortunate that we can afford to do it too and my love language is gift giving 
I think it’s different when you have a few days of events. I am getting married in Italy too but small numbers and just the wedding day in terms of official wedding events, it will come in around £20k I think. got to get her money’s worth after all hahgaOurs has cost approximately £60k but we have had to pay for 2 venues and 2 sets of caterers 
That does include the honeymoon too (which I will desperately need after the stress of the past few weeks ).
I’m hoping we can get some back via insurance but we paid a lot of our deposits before we could take insurance, as most companies stopped offering new policies due to covid.

A few days in another country with exclusive use - you would defo expect it to cost big bucks! It is crazy money, but when its a few days like that, you can understand it! I cant imagine spending those amounts just on the 1 day.

Me too! I’ve been enjoying making things so much! I did all the invites, and bridesmaids gifts, going to do signs and place cards etc too!

I’m doing a thank you box for my bridesmaids, and I’m buying similar items for my mum.
We will also buy for the groomsmen and mother of groom but not as much tbh.
MOG hasn’t done anything, she did give us £1K towards but hasn’t helped organise anything. She won’t be getting ready with us either
