Thanks I’ll have a look at that. We’re going in October/November time so we’re trying to find somewhere that will still be nice and hot! I was dreaming about the Maldives until I saw the cost 😂
If you want to go to the Maldives, which is lovely in October. Don’t book it as a package, you can get it so much cheaper if you book it all individually x

Omg, I’ve just found this thread now, I get married in 17 days. The stress is killing me.
I’m worried about everything,
Will my hair cooperate, will my makeup look nice, am I going to look large in my dress.. do I even still like my dress.. what do I get my nails like, I still haven’t decided.

im Staying in a cottage near my venue the night before the wedding with my MOH, and the ceremony is 15:30. Myself and my MOH are setting up the aisle, and the tables (I’ve made all my decor myself) but we aren’t able to do so until 12:00. So obviously I’m now stressing that I won’t be ready in time. Aaaargggh.
Can anyone recommend nice nail ideas?
Plz help lol
Have a look at #weddingnails on Instagram, there’s loads on there that might give you an idea of what you want. I’m planning to go for something like this…

Oh really? I hadn’t thought of that actually, I’ll have a look! X

I’m doing my own wedding nails (I have a gel lamp). Perhaps I’m being overly cautious, but the last thing I want to do is spend an hour in close proximity to someone I don’t know a few days before my wedding… I do not want covid!

I’m going a bit different, a plain dark red on fingers and toes, it’s my favourite shade and I’m getting married in September so can get away with a more autumnal colour ☺

17 days wow, that'll fly in!
Do you have anyone else that's able to help yous set up just so you're not stressing or running about and trying to get ready?

Nails ideas - I still love a classic French manicure. Also love baby boomer nails like these!
Honestly I’m such a control freak I need it to all look a certain way,
I have peoples names in wood, then I have a cupcake favour (people got to choose which flavour so that’s another job to sort) then I have a personalised menu for each person with their meal choices on it. I’ve made and am making everything 🙈

Hello! New to this thread, getting married in 4 months!
Having a bit of a dilemma, we are getting married in Spain and current guidance is you must be double vaccinated. 2 bridesmaids, 1 being my sister are refusing to get the vaccine. I’m at a point of needing to order their dresses and other bits such as dressing gowns to get ready in. I’m thinking of asking them to stand down as bridesmaids. Then if the rules do change and they can still come that’s great but I just feel it will be a waste of money to order them clothing and other bits when they likely won’t be able to come. Anyone have any advice or help please? ☹

If the rule is they must be vaxxed, then the decision is out of your hands. They literally wouldnt be allowed. Id say that to them, that if rules change then you'd still want them there etc

Yes I think they are just thinking the rules will change, which they may but with it being so close I can’t wait around much longer without knowing. I have asked if their dresses could be returned if they are unworn but the shop has said no which is understandable and expected.
Personally I don’t see the rules changing soon as they’ve actually just tightened them up anyway 😑

Hey, I’m also getting married abroad, Italy rather than Spain but they also are being strict on vaccinations. Things may change in the summer but I think having 2 vaccines could be a baseline requirement for all EU countries. They might be allowed to travel after a negative test without needing to quarantine on arrival but you won’t know for sure until nearer the time so it’s a risk they’ll have to take - on that basis I don’t think they can be mad if you ask them to step down. Are they not bothered about wasting money on flights and accommodation?

It’s another level of stress added isn’t it! Well my sister hadn’t even booked anything yet, the other bridesmaid has booked hotel and flights. She booked her hotel on booking.com so it’s pay when you arrive, I think she is able to cancel up till a few weeks before without paying anything which is good, she’ll just lose out on flight money. I think I’m going to give it another week then make a final decision, I don’t want to wait much longer as I just want to feel things are sorted and ordered etc.

I’ve had a call from the shop I picked my dress from… I need to go in in a month so they can choose what size to order my dress in 🙈

I am losing weight at the moment, slowly, but steadily! I just need to find what weight I’m happy with and then I need to stick to it until October!😰

Hey, when I ordered mine they measured me to send measurements, I had to get 3 sizes bigger because of my boobs 😂 when I went to try it on before Xmas it was quite big. I’ve got 2 alterations apts booked for the next couple of months, so you should be fine if you are planning to have it altered anyway 😊 I’m guessing that’s the usual process for most places!

Yes that’s pretty much the same as my shop! They said they will try the sample on me again and measure what size I need… then when it arrives I’ll have another fitting with my shoes on etc and they’ll do any alterations that needs be and then they’ll do a final fitting apparently!

I’m just so undecided about my weight! I look fine in a mirror, but my god I look large on photos!😂

Mine did the same although with 6 months but she’s meant to be my best friend and is no longer coming!
I can really resonate with you, did you have other options when you booked her that you could go back to? Does she have any recommendations for you? I hope you can find someone soon, try not to stress, it will all work out 🙏🏽 Maybe also checking with the venue if they have any other suggestions? X

I struggled to find anyone when I booked her in the first place, a lot of people were unavailable when I tried before… none of the people she’s recommended can do it, my MUA has suggested the same people and the venue had recommended her to me originally. I was already considering doing my own hair, but was quite happy not having the stress if I’m honest. At least I have something to keep me busy for the next few weeks practising I guess!

I’m so sorry about your best friend 😔

Oh no bless you ☹ is it worth getting back in contact in case they’ve had cancellations? Could you put something on Facebook or Instagram for recommendations? If you can’t find any maybe you and your bridesmaids could practice so they know what you are going for and can help on the day?
Ah that’s ok thank you 😗 x
