What is everyone doing for wedding favours?! I can’t decide if they are a complete waste of time/money or if it will look bad if we don’t get any for our guests! Interested in people’s thoughts…

They are a total waste of money in my view but our wedding planners have budgeted in chocolates for us so that’s what we’re doing 😂 basically, if it’s not something that can be eaten there and then, I wouldn’t bother. Someone I know got married at easter and gave everyone mini eggs, dreamy 😍

Friend is a jewellery designer and she's making ours as a wedding present: a string of beads with A❤P (our initials) and a little attachment so it can be used as a bag chain or keyring etc. I think there's nothing wrong with not having wedding favours, not everyone has the budget and even if they do the money could be better spent elsewhere

We’re doing locally made fudge with our date and names stamped into it. Most of our guests are family so we know everyone loves fudge

I love that idea! I once spent £70 on fudge online and they sent me the order twice so I ended up with £140 worth of fudge for myself 😂

Also think they’re a waste but our cake comes with loads of brownies, cookies and mini sponge cakes so those, and we’re donating to dogs trust in lieu of favours and will have little dog trust pins for everyone.

We’re doing biscuits with our wedding date/our names. I know some people give really personal/quirky things but tbh I struggled to think of anything and everyone likes biscuits 😂

I’m also doing biscuits! I figured people could just stick them in their pocket and eat them in their room when they go to bed drunk and snackish if nothing else 😂

I’m gluten free (coeliac disease) so I’m not sure I’ll be going for biscuits. I’d be worried about the crumbs! 😂

I’m going to be so paranoid about eating on my wedding day, if I eat even a small amount of gluten I get a splitting migraine and I start vomiting, it would ruin my wedding day!

I don’t know if I’m going to eat the meal provided, even though they say it’s safe… I might just fill up on safe snacks that I’ve brought! 😂

I love the idea of miniature alcohol with a personalised sticker (buy cheap bottles on ebay and fill with your own alcohol) but a good few of my guests don't drink alcohol so would be a waste.
I'm having a Christmas wedding so did think of personalised baubles but don't think many would take them home let alone put them on their tree haha!
I also like the idea of homemade fudge/tablet!

Do you get to do tasting at your venue beforehand? You could try having the exact meal you’re going to have on the day and it might help you feel more confident that it won’t make you ill. Not sure how feasible that is though and I suppose you’d have to make sure they make it the exact same way on the day too.

Yes we do! I guess my only concern really would be that on the day, the meal might get mixed up or cross contamination might happen. I’m so terrified of eating gluten in day to day life, but if I eat it at my wedding, it will ruin the rest of the day because I’ll be so ill. :(

I think I’m just going to bring loads of snacks for my hotel room, just in case. I can go hours without eating as im used to going hungry, so I’d rather do that than be ill, it sounds crazy, but I’m so paranoid! 😂

No I completely get you, you want to be completely relaxed and not worrying on the day too. Snacks sound like a good idea! Make sure you get all of your favourites ☺

I love the miniatures idea but my venue charge a corkage fee so it would work out really expensive.

Yes! Can’t think of anything worse than vomiting all over my wedding dress! Classy! People will think I’m drunk! 🤣
