I added it up and all of my cousins, plus their partners & their children came to 45 people 😩! No way could I afford to pay for all of those for the ceremony!
My fiancé only has one cousin and he is the best man!
Same as me! We’re only have 75 in the day and I don’t even talk to half my cousins so thought not spending loads of extra money for them 🤣

Glad it’s not just me - I don’t want to exclude anyone but equally my partner has cousins who he’s literally never spoken to but would be expected to invite! It’s a lot of extra expense for people we don’t even know.

It’s a done thing in my family that when one of the cousins is getting married, you only get an invite to the evening! I’m luckily the fourth cousin to be getting married, so this unwritten rule is already in place and people accept it! 😂

Honestly People should stop feeling entitled to wedding invites.

Were having a few kids at our wedding (because we have one and my partner has a niece and nephew, but that's it)
My cousin has already voiced concern about her kids not being invited, she has 5 children, 3 of which will all be over 12 by 2023 so they get classed as adults, so just for her kids it would cost me an extra £285, and then of course if we invite them we'd have to invite every other cousins kids and before you know it our wedding with only 4 kids attending, becomes 20 and its just not happening.
My mum has a saying
No pay, no say
And its the policy were going by

Yes that’s exactly it!

I don’t think people appreciate the cost of it. We got an invite to a wedding this year and our baby isn’t included, which is fine and I wouldn’t dream of asking the bride to bring her, but apparently some people were straight on the phone asking if their kids had been ‘forgotten’ from the invites 🙄

I've told my wedding coordinator the only children that are invited are actually in the wedding party so if any others arrive they're to be told to leave. They're not in the invites, I've not paid for them and there won't be a place for them to sit. Couldn't care less if family members fall out with me because of it

Totally agree, my wedding reception venue is quite posh so the last thing I’d want is kids running around like it’s a school disco 🤣

I’m going to my first wedding dress appointment on Saturday! Any tips? Anything I should take? I have no idea on hair or shoes yet as probably depends on the dress.... but thinking maybe I should take a clip to pin hair up so I can see what it’s like?
Wear white or nude bra, strapless if possible and wear a pair of big suck you in style control pants in white or nude (unless you are a gym honed size 8 already!)

I know! People are like "aw it makes it fun"
No it doesn't. I don't want to trip over a child knee sliding on the dance floor and if any child dares gets in the way during our first dance ill boot them 😂😂

I’m having children but, thankfully there aren’t too many. Our wedding is abroad and most of it will be outside so we’ve got a section purely for the children with an entertainer for a couple of hours then it’s due to be set up as a play tent with a cinema in etc. We’ve hired a nanny for most of the evening too. Honestly, if any parent complains I’ll be showing them the directions to the airport!

We're also not having any children!
Our package is limited to 40 people and any extra there's a charge per head, so that's when we decided only aunties and uncles and no cousins.
I don't have many cousins and some I don't even speak to, but my partner has a lot so I feel like the guest list would have got out of hand if we invited them all.

Saw two wedding venues today, the one I was expecting to love I didn’t really like and the one I wasn’t too fussed about was lovely!

Our wedding is the start of March, and we are planning to go away from the venue for some pics with our photographer… I’ve just realised that I’m going to be freezing in my dress, but I don’t know what to get. Love the idea of a ‘bride’ denim jacket but I don’t know if that’s a bit tacky?

Also trying to find somewhere to get hand sanitizer/matching face masks…. Soooo expensive

Go for it! I want to do either a denim jacket or leather jacket!

We are not very traditional and don't want to spend a fortune. We only have 30 close family/friends to invite. So we are having a church ceremony followed by a reception at our house. We have a big garden so we are having two tables laid pushed together. With either a chef coming to the house to serve a 3 course meal or a hog roast. We also have a summer house with a bar so we are hiring someone to serve drinks. We are getting married at 4pm so a meal will be enough food. We are having some music, lights and decoration in the garden. My MIL to be is making the cake.

All in all for the quotes we have we will spend no more than £4.5k for everything. Another big saver is not having bridesmaids/groomsmen. Just having our neice and nephew as flower girl and page boy at the church. Very chill wedding where everyone leaves by 10pm 👌
