At the moment I am thinking prawns and chorizo, crab linguini...
I can't taste salt but am fine with sweet things so it's salty I'm craving.
Not allowed blue cheese or paté on chemo so of course I am desperate for them.
I can't drink alcohol on the antibiotics but when allowed a prosecco or a rosé - all the cookery programs are talking rosé.
They are some of my faves! Mr MK was raised on a farm in Cavan before travelling the world for work. He’s gone from one extreme to the other. He once stayed at George V for - wait for it - five months! This was while working in Paris. He still harbours back to the meals of his childhood. Now, I love a good roast like everyone else - yum - but I would definitely go for prawns and chorizo and crab linguine above it.

Funny enough, he is currently in New Jersey and order seafood linguine - I was fuming - he refuses any pasta dish from my kitchen! We are having peri-peri prawns with sourdough tonight. Yay! The no spud rule continues!

I do hope you get your taste buds back soon. I remember being told by someone who had lost their taste and smell from Covid that adding extra chillies to the dish was the trick! Maybe don’t try this at home! 🥵🥵

Five months!!!! Omg!!!!
I love seafood linguine 😋
I won't get my taste back until after chemo so next year? In the meantime I have to enjoy what I can taste which is tomatoes, tuna, pineapple, chocolate, strawberries and other random things.
My visitors have just left. They brought chocolate marzipan. I adore marzipan. Not to everyone's taste though.
Chilli...the problem is I can taste heat but there is no depth of flavour.

Chocolate and strawberries…I could live on them very happily. I love marzipan too. Every Christmas and Easter Emily makes me her plain chocolate covered gold marzipan balls with macadamia nuts and stem ginger and maraschino cherries. I NEVER share them and eat the entire box myself. The whole lot. Not one do I give away…

Make the most of your freedom Dear Havisham. Sounds wonderful and the food sounds wonderful too. I have had a cheese and tomato sandwich. An egg sandwich and some toast. Note even a hint of linguine…

Ha! I’m really enjoying the food chat! @Oops if a cheese and tomato sandwich made well - gorgeous! Chocolate and strawberries very yum. Emily’s recipe so impressive - I wouldn’t share either.... incredible!

I’m like @Miscanthus though - we are the salty and spicy girls! Glad you are still tasting the greats, though - tuna, tomatoes, pineapple as well as the choc and strawbs - all yum! XX

I am drooling at the thought of Emily's chocolates. I forgot to say that ginger is something I can still really enjoy - the taste cuts through all the nonsense in my mouth. Delicious.
I can also taste nuts and have a huge bag of Waitrose mixed nuts on the go, unsalted of course because I can't taste salt! 😋

Girls - how fab is the single life?

I’m in my pj’s after a day of shopping for the Chicago gal - tons of beauty products, etc. The absolute joy of coming home, unpacking, cooking a casual meal and then leaving the young ones to enjoy cocktails - and why wouldn’t they, they will be apart all summer - and I go to bed to read.

Wonderful. No excuses - explanations - bliss. Aaarrgh! Just saying day three and no regrets!

Yep - Emily has the answer to everything - I have been saying this forever!!

What is WRONG with them? You get packed up, made up and dressed up and THEN they tell you? I might parachute out the window if I were you...

The window doesn't open more than 6 inches!

Update!

IF the bloods taken today are OK (the bloods taken Friday showed improvement to haemoglobin) I can go tomorrow. I will continue to receive iv antibiotics but will change drugs to a once a day iv (rather than 4x a day) administered in my own home by a specialist team.

Do you remember Rosie from Made in Chelsea? She’s good on the Buying London series actually - quite calming!
The quote of the series must be from Rosie when the male agent (not from DDRE) asked if she was familiar with Holland Park and she said "I live in Holland Park"....😲£££

Yes - great quote! Honestly, I think she had more cudos than Lauren or Reza(?) because I remember she had a wealth of knowledge in Fine Art in MIC - those two in comparison seemed a little nouveau in comparison? Overdone, overdressed, overly attention seeking ... I suppose it comes down to the black book of clients and I imagine there are a lot of dubious investors. I liked the Ollie character though. Another random fact was that Alex Bourne - Digger’s competitor - is the ex husband of Rachel Stevens (S Club)! She left him for her Dancing on Ice partner. 🙄

Ah - you will go home tomorrow - totally sure of it. ❤

My single gal life lives on - daughters last night together so requested I make them Margaritas - blooming hell - took me four different stops to buy Triple Sec. Bought the tequila as well ....€70!! That’s before the limes, nachos, treats....The apparent trick to a good Margarita is a little freshly squeezed orange juice so now I’ve been sent out to get oranges!

I love, love, love margaritas. They are my cocktail of choice. But I prefer cointreau to triple sec. Flipping heck, your girls give you the runaround don't they?

Do you think Ollie is good looking? He's got a huge nose but somehow manages to look handsome. I like Lauren but Reza seems very immature and out of her depth, but she pulled off that party of agents and wealthy buyers. Those trousers she wore in the snow were ridiculous.
The other girl is only 21 and a bit starry eyed.

There isn't a lot of selling though, is there?

Did you watch The Parisian Agency? In one episode the father and a couple of the sons were so nervous to be meeting up with English hot shot, prime Real estate agent Daniel Daggers (imagine saying his name with a French accent). I now realise he's hardly scary!

Good Morning! I have just received the glorious news that another mum is doing the airport run. I have, in fact, paid six toll charges over the last month on airport runs... I have no doubt I will be signed up for the return which will undoubtedly get in at an ungodly hour...

Head is fine today @Miscanthus! I’m more of a red wine girl than a Margarita girl but they were delicious! I agree with you on the Cointreau - it was recommended on my cocktail research! Salt rims and lime are so, so good though - that salty zing... it is definitely my fave of cocktails as I don’t crave anything sugary. The dash of freshly squeezed orange juice added the perfect amount of sweetness. Yum! I think it should be top of your list when you get your taste buds back... Are you getting out today??

@Oops are you turning into a nocturnal Hercule Poirot - twirling your moustache while looking for clues as to the whereabouts of the slippery snails? Well, you have obviously solved the mystery... your vigilance has paid off. What a splendid sight. 💐💐 Bonnets off to you.

Well done on nocturnal mollusc hunting!

What is this area covered over with? Glass? It looks so pretty.
Yes dearest, the canopy has a white steel frame with lead flashings and glass roof. I’ll see if I can take better photos so you can see. It means part of the terrace can be used as another room. I drew it and my boys built it for me About 7 years ago. The pavers have to be jet washed too often though and are too porous so they hold stains. I am used to it now but it bugged me at first - York stone was cheaper but oh no… I knew better! I so knew nothing whatsoever!

Have just bought another Mrs Alice set for my round table outside! I can’t even tell you how stunning it is . If I get the chance I will set it up and show you. It’s heartmeltingly lovely…

You both now have me hooked on ‘Selling London’ but I detest the bitchiness. I find it soooo upsetting. I could not work in an environment like that no matter what they paid me. I can’t warm to any of the characters at all. I may end up having a slight soft spot for Daniel at the end but arrogance is only ok at arm’s length imho. Wasn’t John Cauldwell‘s London house surprising? A testament to bad taste and he got charged sooo much for it. The Dawn Ward school of decor. Makes my toes curl 🧐. She still hasn’t sold Warford Hall in Cheshire. Been on the market for over 2 years. At one stage she was asking £14M for it when she was at her height with Housewives . It’s less than half that now but I can’t see anyone buying it as she’s over-personalised and it’s not a good look. ( Unless you like cavernous stone/marble or shiny surfaces and varnished orange wood everywhere).

Mind you - what do I know? I’m twirling my moustache and delivering snails to her next door in the middle of the night! I mean - what’s that about. Duh!

If you don't like the bitching do not watch Selling Sunset. I repeat, do NOT watch Selling Sunset.
You might like The Parisian Agency. It's a French family with 3 good looking sons who run the real estate agency and there's no drama drama. The grandmother is a great character and they all love her so much.
I've come across John Cauldwell before, both on the TV and there was a recent article in a Sunday paper magazine. He's been married about 5x and has a much younger wife, of course. His properties are proof that money can't buy taste.
Dawn Ward's star is in the decline now. I won't be buying her place 😜. Cheshire is too wet and I don't do shiny! 😵

Definitely going home this evening...Community nurse will be doing meds for next week.
