I find the sex work/porn thing tricky as a libertarian. While I'm fully aware of the harm it can cause some people, outright banning all porn and sex work feels a bit Big Brother. In other words: "I know what's right and good, so I will enforce that on everyone". And that makes me uncomfortable as well.

It's a quandary for sure.

I don’t think most porn is okay because ultimately it comes back to bite all women in the arse. If what someone is doing in the privacy of their home doesn’t hurt other people then I don’t care what it is but porn isn’t one of those things.

A high number of sex workers have been doing it since they were underage. So many of them have been sex trafficked since childhood. It makes me feel so sad for them.

A lot of people have said porn exploits women. That they get drawn into it for financial reasons. I often ask myself what would they do if they were men.

Then they would be well and truly fked, as who wants to cam with a bloke.

It's like women want to make money from porn and then they complain.

Many women go into the industry hoping to earn money, most end up exploited and eventually dead.
Porn is a horrible industry, so many of the women you see in porn videos are drugged up (to ease the pain) to the point they don’t really know what’s going on.
In response to your comment about men being fucked because they can’t go into porn, I find myself struggling for sympathy considering that men are the ones who have been pimping out female sex workers for years.

It’s men who are the reason why porn still exists, why prostitution exists. It certainly isn’t women who are making the demand for it. Stop blaming women for an issue solely created by men.

Stop it with the smart arse misogynistic comments in general.

I do think some of the porn/sex work discussion has a bit of a moral panic thing going on with it. There’s going to be women who genuinely want to do it and enjoy it as a job for whatever reason. There’s also going to be those that were somehow pushed into it and exploited, but it doesn’t mean that all sex work is bad

Never heard of rent boys or male prostitutes? Plenty of males resort to sex work when they're desperate.

Also contrary popular belief it isn’t rich horny insatiable women that are always paying for sex from those men who are unfortunate enough to rely on sex work to make ends meet, it’s mainly other men who buy the sex from them.

But we all know it’s the womens fault! Damn you women for having an opinion and speaking about your experiences of being a woman in a world that will constantly find new ways to exploit and dehumanise you!

Someone said it is a terrible world for women, as they are the only animal that is required to mate with their natural predator.

It wasn't smart arse Or misogynistic. It was a genuine question. Many women see this as easy money.

If someone is looking for easy money, they’re most likely desperate and easy to exploit.

There are women who do sex work voluntarily because we’ve been conditioned to believe that it’s empowering and a legitimate way to make money. It’s not. Unfortunately, they only realise this further down the line. There are huge, long lasting individual and societal consequences to sex work and porn becoming normalised.

There is a girl on TikTok (can’t remember her name) who has made her whole platform based on the fact she has made enough to buy a house (cash) off of her work on OF. She makes it seem so positive and admirable, but she says the most depraved shit and splashes it out there for the world to see. She has young children and I hate to think what they will go through if their friends ever see her on TikTok.

She glamorises it so much but the reality is, she sticks things up her arse for perverts to ogle at. Each to their own but I think it’s wrong to be splashing it over socials when you have kids.

In other news. I thought that said Cumbrians and as a Lake District resident I was about to throw hands

Thank you for a reasoned reply, rather than a rant.

As I have said before my memory is poor, but I seem to recall several members doing cam work and only fans.

Are you saying that they don't know what they are getting into.

How many of them see it as easy money because those that are successful fail to mention the darker parts of it, such as having to fit some sort of demand because there's so much supply that your body alone might not appeal to the potential consumer. It's probably why some kinks have become more public tbf
