shhe acts as if shes so ahead of the curve/done something so creative by taking one. thousands of (usually welll off) people do them. and the fuss she made when she was goingto france for a few weeks for that french course was ridiculous, she acted as if she was moving abroad for a year
No, she's the only person who's ever taken a gap year! Just like Minerva is the only university to ever set reading before a class, and she's the one who invented taking yourself on a date.

Really quite shocked with Jade’s approach to results day. I know so many people who have been totally let down by the gov because they’re colleges/sixth forms are in areas of deprivation/ typically do badly and now can’t go to uni despite knowing that they should’ve gotten their offers.... and Jade says if your upset you should vibe with your siblings?! It’s just so insensitive as so many people’s lives have been turned over today because of their (lack of) privilege. I know she was trying to be nice and once again I’m sure she is conventionally nice but it just feels so out of touch once again.
I was shocked by her posts today. I understand 'trying to see the bright side', but when her first suggestion is to resit the exams which costs money and means taking a year out, that's already not great. And she pulled the classic 'A levels are just a stepping stone! They're not everything' line when to an 18 year old who has spent their life working towards their A levels, that's little comfort. She's so out of touch.

Jade- quarantining for 14 days does not mean exploring the city FIRST and then isolating. It means.... QUARANTINE FOR 14 DAYS

her last video... eh. as usual i'm sure she means well but ends up coming across as so preachy and a bit tone deaf.

what she's saying is true for some career paths (e.g. business, social media influencer, etc) but there are so many careers that you can't just spontaneously switch over towards by knowing the right people. good luck becoming a lawyer or a doctor that way. i just feel that this is really naive advice to be giving to young impressionable people. she's in a really unusual position where not only does she earn A LOT more money than the average person her age, but she's also automatically networking all the time through her status as social media influencer. She may have the luxury to have multiple career switches in her life but honestly, the sad truth is that that won't be the case for a lot of people. I'm training to be a lawyer, and honestly I really regret not having made this decision years ago, as I'm REALLY behind on other people my age in terms of internships/work experience related to law.

Not to mention, I know that networking IS important in this day and age, but... holy crap, lmao. she makes it sound like all it takes to switch a career is doing lots of networking. Not only is this simply unrealistic for most people but it also really alienates introverts.
This wasn't one of her worst videos by any means but as usual the ignorance does bother me. I used to really enjoy watching her videos, and I'm sure I'd really like her as a friend, but this newfound preachiness of hers really tests my patience lol.

Why does she need to write BRAZILIAN like that..... like jade, stop making everything about where people are from! It’s very inappropriate in my opinion, she constantly mentions her flat mates are BRAZILIAN, gets herself a Brazilian swimming cap....

To me she came across as speaking as someone with the confidence that the Bank or Daddy will always be able to bail her out if she decided that she wanted to switch careers and it didn’t work out. So so privileged - she doesn’t live in the real world! I’d like to say *yet* but I suspect she will carry on floating through life with her MLM brainwashed upbringing and privilege at the forefront.

Imagine if Jade had gone to an established university in the UK and realised that being a bright student who took a GaP YarH really isn't anything special. Well done, you got drunk in another country.

Came on here after feeling like I literally got dumber watching Jade’s latest jealousy video. Again, she appears to have read one article about something (ahem dunning-Kruger effect) and acting like she’s an actual genius spouting something poignant and insightful.

This screams shallow white middle class privileged crap and I’m convinced all her followers commenting are around 16 years old or younger to find this at all insightful.

Also on her IG stories the other day she was talking about this razor brand as if priming us to not be confused by her sponsored video about misogyny after her ‘i don’t shave because of misogyny’ video.

Also for a studytuber considered to be quite intelligent who is putting out a video that is basically about how clever and groundbreaking she is I had to lol that she pronounced deprecating as depreciating.

The lack of depth and nuance to this girl is mind boggling.

It's because getting rejected from Oxford still bothers her. That's why she's always so on it with mentioning how great Minerva is because she wants to try and prove to the world that she's not bothered by her Oxford rejection even though she so clearly is.

I would have thought her Oxford rejection would actually bring her down a peg, instead now she's doubling down on her sanctimoniousness and smugness and acting like she knows everything about something when she really only has a surface level understanding. I'm not sure if it's more from Minerva making them think they're all really special compared to others their age or just growing up in an MLM family.

That's one of my biggest issues with the big studytubers (i.e. Jade, Ruby, Holly, Eve) they aren't all that relatable because they don't seem to worry or struggle with money, they live in big houses, get to go on all these trips, can afford so many luxuries, are constantly getting gifted things and the amount holly charges for her tutoring is just ridiculous but that's for another thread. Not saying they don't all work hard but it's not very realistic.

It’s like Jade has forgotten how much her A-Levels meant to her. She cried on social media and the news picked up on it, and started a YouTube channel based around her A-Levels. To her, her exams were her life, and I think it’s sad to see how out of touch and overly positive she’s become.

I have family who have been let down completely and will have to retake in the Autumn, and it’s not just a case of ‘seeing the bright side’, it’s a case of them having to start back at work with a global pandemic going on.

I want to boke every time I hear the phrase casual magic.

I'm all for seeing the beauty in life, really I am. I love finding things to be grateful for, I love reflecting on small moments that make you happy, but dear God-- to make it your entire personality with a two-foot quirky girl quip like "casual magic" just irritates the life out of me. It's like she's trying to claim the idea of being grateful for the small moments in life as her own idea.

she just posted a new video on...finances? i wonder if she's going to tackle the issue on minerva's fees

EDIT: no she didn't, she just talked about credit cards, credit score and pensions. how on earth is it possible that ruby granger afforded buying a house at 18, holly gabrielle also had a full deposit for a house, and jade's been rejected 3 times on getting a credit card? did she spend all her youtube money + savings on her first year at minerva?

by the way... why does she always think that after reading ONE book about a subject she's suddenly an expert on that matter and makes a youtube video explaining so?

I spent my "gap year" working to be able to afford schooling, as did many people I went to school with. Gap years aren't just about travelling the world on mummy and daddy's dime, Jade. She is so unaware of the privilege she has, it's ridiculous.

I just think it’s ridiculous for Jade to be defending Minerva when they so clearly didn’t care about their students in lockdown. The fact Dinara literally had no where to stay and couldn’t get home shows how little Minerva are in touch with the world. They like to think they’re aware and connected but from everything I’ve seen, all they do is try and make it out like they’re some prodigy school. They’re just so not.
