so Jade posted a tiktok about being a perfectionist and said that a levels “ruined her mental health”?? No doubt a levels are stressful but I feel like if her mental health got that bad she would’ve spoken about it. Ruined mental health is more than crying a few times and feeling situational pressure, it’s so much more. Petty gripe but seeing that pissed me off
Mental awareness is trendy now ! She MUST stay relevant

Yes. THIS makes me angry. She’s a perfectionist, fine. But if I’m being honest, it’s pretty usual when you’re 16-18 to be obsessed with getting good grades, because that’s the MAIN FOCUS OF YOUR LIFE. It’s just normal for people to not put worth on their grades and ranking etc as they get older because they also have a life outside of school (a job/societies/going out etc).

I just once again HATE the fact that Jade is making something that is quite normal for people of the GCSE/ALevel age to experience (yes there are extremes BUT) out as something to be considered ‘different’ and ‘quirky’.

like I’ve said before, she’s your average 20 year old at uni..... she’s maturing and with that maturity will OBVIOUSLY come a different outlook on what things are worth worrying about. She’s not as special as she likes to think she is, and she doesn’t stand out.

I have to be honest, I think the whole 'casual magic' thing is a pretty nice way to look at the simple things in everyday life which most people take for granted. What I can't stand is the way she applies the concept to the opportunities she has because she is privaliged and doesn't see that her followers do not have those same chances. She acts so knowledgeable but her content really only applies to young middle class white people like her. Maybe we can all relate to experiencing casual magic in some way, but not in the narcissistic way she puts across

I don't see the point in her latest video... how do we know she isn't speaking English when the camera is switched off?

I guess I live in poverty because I suffer with depression then 🤪
Yeah so this is actually one of the main gripes I have about Jade. Everything she does seems so "pyramid scheme"y. All the crap about how having a good day or a bad day is your choice, and how everything can be fixed by pretending you have a terminal illness (see recent video) or whatever weird metaphor she's currently working with (spoiler: it isn't up to you whether or not you have a good day if you are living in poverty or with illness etc, but I suppose Jade has never had to worry about anything deeper than an Oxford rejection).

Also all this "law of attraction" crap too - think happy thoughts and you'll have a good life! Never any acknowledgement of her fortunate circumstances; in fact I'd say the opposite, since she has often pretended to be disadvantaged. Examples: making a huge deal about the fact she went to a state school and blaming her Oxford rejection on this (despite it being one of the best funded comprehensives in the country, in an expensive area - although again on instagram she did once call it "underfunded"...), making a huge deal about the fact her dad doesn't have a degree, making a huge deal in one of her earliest videos about how they had been able to stay in a hotel in Thailand for free and so it wasn't an expensive holiday.

I know I jokingly called her a Tory, but I wouldn't be surprised if she was. She literally has videos where she talks about wanting to use the law of attraction to attract financial abundance... And using the word "chav"???

Sorry for wall of text, just had enough of this girl.

I used to love Jade's videos, especially when she was travelling. Now I seriously cannot stand her for the life of me. I don't think she has bad intentions but she was born into wealth, has never had a regular job and went to a good school. She realistically has no idea about real world issues, even if she does travel to try and insert herself into whatever situation is going on. I went to a pretty bad school, very rural Australia, and no amount of "manifestation" would've changed that. I saw people living in poverty everyday, being happy is a privilege when you're struggling to make ends meet and provide for your family. She didn't get into Oxford because she wasn't the right fit. Blaming absolutely every possible external factor for her rejection is just ridiculous

Privilege breeds privilege. I agree she doesn’t have bad intentions but she hasn’t really stepped out of the wealth bubble, she literally has no perception of other lives outside of her own, maybe with the exception of ICS. if she went to UK uni she might’ve encountered people outside of that bubble but now she’s at Minerva she never has to

Yeh I think she has this idea that because it’s so international she’s experiencing so much more... yes people fro, other nations can broaden your horizons, but it’s effectively the same wealthy group from each country surely ?

This page of the thread sums up exactly why I just can’t stand Jade anymore. Her focus now is always pushing happiness and she never acknowledges her privilege. She’ll say every now and again ‘oh I’m so lucky’ etc, but I don’t think she actually understands the extent of why she’s so lucky, and the fact it’s not just luck alone which got her to where she is today. She might have travelled and seen other parts of the world but that doesn’t automatically make you 100% aware and a guru of what makes people ‘happy’. The whole white saviour mentality shines bright in Jade in my opinion.

When I first heard she was going on a ICS I thought "Uh-oh", but then I saw her video on white saviour complex so I was quite pleased that at least she knew it was a thing. However, after seeing all these IG posts, all her problematic comments, all her delusional approaches of life problems... I see her under a different scope.

Regarding Jade sounding like she is in a pyramid scheme, I remember it being mentioned on gg that her dad is actually quite high up in Juice plus which is a pretty bad mlm, and you don't really get high up in those companies without exploiting some people. Some ppl spotted some of the products in her earlier videos.

Look at her third most recent tiktok (don't worry, you don't need the app)

In case you can't see it, here's a copy of the text:
"The Head of Sixth Form saying she can't put my photo on the Head Girl Wall bc I was rejected from Oxford and I'm taking a gap year"
"Me, having worked hard my whole school life :("
"Me one day graduating from a uni I LOVE after a gap year I LOVED"

My thoughts on this: really doubt that's true lol? And she tries to make out that there's some stigma around gap years, but they're literally what every rich kid does after A levels, including those who get A*s... Also, it's really weird that, over two years on, she's still going on about Oxford.

I highly doubt a school wouldn’t put up a photo over something so insignificant, in theory that teacher could be accused of having a bias etc
I find it weird she still clearly bothered her teacher wouldn’t put up a picture let alone Oxford 😂if she’s so happy why does it matter if her photo is on a pinboard somewhere she doesn’t even go anymore

There's literally zero stigma around gap years lol. They do have the whole 'gap yah' reputation, but loads of people I know have taken them whether they were rich or not. People go to uni at all ages, no one cares if you took a year out and go at 19 instead of 18.
