The thing is about study tubers, what would they be doing if they did not have a social media profile? Excelling in school is not a ticket to suddenly having a good job, stable income nor will it guarantee that you will do something you enjoy and live a life you are content with. Good grades help to an extent if you do want to pursue a career that requires specific qualifications or to slightly distinguish you in the labour market and demonstrate knowledge or a skill set. But influencers like Jade I cannot imagine beyond the realm of social media influencer, they offer no alternative route for those who cannot succeed in academia. And it genuinely disgusts me from the snippets of the book I have read, that she infers that academia is a challenge, where if you fail to effectively participate you are undetermined and will remain static in you personal, moral, academic growth. What this book demonstrates is this bizarre moral high ground and self-centrism of people like Jade who feel their only best distinguishing feature is their grades, which in the case of Jade somehow grants her the knowledge and understanding of pedagogy and education, which people spend years on studying and doing research on . Referring to @
xaannaa post, the whole industrial revolution segment requires referencing (even if it is just the author I.e John Smith in X describes) unless the writer has conducted their own research or the information is common knowledge. This is blatant plagiarism and it evident that Jade has no respect for academia, education, teaching methods, etc etc unless it is for her own self-anggradisement.
