I just listened to Therese Coffey on LBC with Nick Ferrari ... all I can say is: don't get sick. My God, what have we done to deserve these people? I thought Grant Shapps was bad. She couldn't even answer the question: "Do you think smoking is damaging for your health" ... she's the health secretary FFS.

I agree, it was bloody terrifying to think she's the new Health Secretary.

What was the thinking behind putting an obese, chain smoking pisshead in charge of health?

Such a fan that she may have been lobbied by tobacco companies....hmmmm 🚬
You mean the Chelsea Flower tickets she got from Gallagher Ltd? The United Kingdom-based multinational tobacco company? Oh you old cynic. ;) List of registered interesting for Coffey:

It really baffles me. Like I'm sure Matt Hancock was no paragon of health (or you know, anything) but at least he didn't look so...not healthy 😬

Looks shouldn't matter.
Reminds me of Belgium former health minister, Maggie De Block, who was a doctor.
But strangely, specialists aren't often good Ministers in their own specialty.

The Iceberg Lady meet KamiKwazi. A disaster of Titanic proportions. Given the freezing winter we've got lined up for us, it's fitting!

The Times isn't holding back either, Kwarteng sat there with a bottle of champagne was a nice touch.

Pretty safe to say even the centre-right leaning publications aren't even on her side, her party isn't on her side, the public isn't on her side.... That just leaves economically powerful think-tanks. Nice to see that the weight of most of country means nothing compared with that! 😒

Kwai kept repeating ' anti growth coalition' like a wind up puppet in the Commons. Doesn't really wash when the ' anti growth coalition' includes the Bank of England, the OBR, the IMF, most of your MP's and a fair chunk of the electorate!

That's modern day politics for you! Full of divisive aggression, getting the electorate to focus on the boogeyman over there getting in the way of improvements rather than the people in charge intentionally degrading our quality of life for their benefit.

In fairness, the post of Deputy Prime Minister makes Vice-Presidents look like all-mighty Gods. Clegg ? Prescott ? They’re literally the only two I can name. And the list of achievements by holders of the post is even shorter. They’d be as well to just title the post « Sacrifical Lamb » or « Mushroom ».
