"What everyone needs to remember is that" it is the Tories and their unquestioning supporters that are responsible for:

austerity, Brexit, 'VIP lanes' and other corruption, uncontrolled corporate profiteering, voter ID, limiting the right to protest and the right to strike,

attacking the EHCR, the 'Truss disaster', near destruction of the NHS and social care, deterioration of every public service,

bankrupting local authorities, shit in our rivers, seas and drinking water, the highest tax burden since the 50s,

the biggest national debt since the war, the energy 'crisis', 'Partygate', pointless culture wars, a housing crisis, shredding ethical standards,

undermining the independence of the judiciary and the rule of law, demonisation of minority groups and those on benefits, increasing child poverty,

a more than hundred fold increase in the use of food banks,

The last one is so dumb. The parents putting their kids in private schools actually saves the government alot of money. Increasing the VAT will push that expense onto the paying parent and not all of them are filthy rich. They've already done a huge survey and found that a high percentage of parents would pull their child out of private education and put them back into public schools which are already struggling with having enough spaces.

This also includes the private special needs schools which I personally think is horrendous. They should certainly be exempt as the likely hood is that they will have to close which would be disastrous trying to find new provisions for all the children.
I wasn't asking the person to whom I was responding (or anyone) to agree with the policies. I just wanted to show that the repeated claim that Labour have not produced any policies or money raising proposals was untrue.

I wonder if we ever see the day boomers stop expecting young people to give up everything for them…half of you are only still alive because young people stayed indoors during lockdowns to keep your lives, letting their educations and futures suffer in the process, but you’re still banging on about them daring to have a TV. Absolutely mental
They are the most selfish generation that have ever walked the face of the earth. The difference between them and their parents who lived and fought during WW2 is like night and day. I can remember that my Grandad in particular was always concerned about what the future would look like for his grand children and great grand children. Boomers could not give a shit. If it isn‘t about them or doesn’t protect their cushy lifestyles they don’t care. Everything is about them and what they can get. My parents are boomers and I hate myself for saying it, but they say things that blow my mind sometimes. There is something so deeply selfish engrained in a lot of them.

I’m from Liverpool and we’re a Labour city so they’ll be getting my vote even though Kier Stamer is a closet tory
I live in Liverpool.
Labour have done NOTHING to deserve the loyalty of voters in Liverpool IMO. I see it as more of an anti-Tory protest than an ‘I am confident Labour can make the city/country better’ vote tbh.

Because I find the whole trans debate pointlessly argumentative. Statistics show you're more likely to be raped by someone you know or a partner yet people seem to concern themselves with who they're sharing toilet facilities with in the name of "women's rights".
The thing that never happens. Happening.

And again.

And again

And a….oh fuck it. You get the point. You pretend you don’t, but you do…..

Yes, men in wigs are such a vulnerable minority.
It’s fascinating that in the eyes of many the 40 year old white guy is the root of all evil and has known nothing but pure privilege all his working life. The bottom of the giant beanstalk of oppression if you like. But one morning he wakes up, puts on a wig and lipstick, calls himself Griselda and he suddenly becomes a soon to be suicide and a victim of violent oppression all his life and goes to the top of the beanstalk. Now THAT’S social mobility….

They are going to make it easier for men to claim they're women and they are going to recognise Palestine as a state.
Soooooooooo......... 🥴
There are already 143 countries that do that. I can’t see a problem with that at all. Are we supposed to shut our eyes until Israel have completely flattened it and murdered everyone who lives there?

Are you as bothered by the reverse then, trans men in men’s only spaces? Or do you only care about women’s spaces?
[/QUOTE]
I only care about women's safe spaces. I am a woman, if women who think they are men want to use the women's facilities that's fine by me because they are women.
If men have a problem with male society the answer is not to increase risk for women, the more vulnerable sex.

Women do not present a risk to other women, the same cannot be said for men. Women have sex-based rights and single sex facilities for their dignity and safety.

Which means they all are?
I know two people who have transitioned. They are both kind, normal, decent people who are happy living their lives as the people they believe they were born to be. They don’t harm anybody else so why should we have an issue with them?
I thought that we had moved on from the days when people who didn’t conform to the norm were assumed to be mentally ill. It wasn’t that long ago that homosexuality was supposed to be an illness that could be fixed. How long before we have a better view of gender issues?
But gay people didn't demand our spaces or change language. They just wanted to love and get on with their lives.
As for the people you know, I find it very sad they couldn't love the body they were born in and resorted to extreme measures which in the long run will have a detrimental effect on their physical health.
I actually don't care if men want to cosplay as women, go ahead but don't they dare expect me to call them he/she/they or whatever is in fashion this week.

But it has become a separate debate.
I am not dismissing those who feel that they cannot vote for Labour but certainly have a problem with those who will vote for the Tories again. And they are the ones who are stoking these gender wars because it appeals to a certain type of voter.
I totally agree that there are still issues over the rights of women, but trans people have rights too don’t they?
Obviously. But what rights do they not currently have?
Everyone should have equal rights, but it does appear as though trans people ( men ) think that their rights should trump those of women and children, and they shouldn’t.

If your red lines are based on borderline non-issues then no wonder the country is doomed 🤷‍♀️
Mine aren't- if you'd read my posts you'd see that enough labour MPs have a sufficiently nuanced view on this issue that I feel comfortable voting for them. I wouldn't vote Green because they are properly all in with the "TW are women" lot.

However I think it's very telling that people consider women's rights to be an absurd thing to base a vote on but wouldn't consider say, racism, to be an unreasonable red line.

Totally agree. There is (IMO) no credible opposition in this country at the moment. I personally feel we’re doomed either way.

Yes exactly @Scotch Mist. I've been following this since Ben Wallace gave his reason for stepping down. He made it quite clear that we don't have sufficient weapons, tanks, or men serving, nor money being spent on defence. He couldn't go into detail, but was very concerned about the situation, and said there was a possibility that a war could start within the next four years.

At last something is now being done. More ammunition, and ships being built. And I think this gentle approach to training personnel is just the start.

Can I ask a question to everyone who is against the training that Rishi is suggesting? If the UK did go to war then people up to 40 would HAVE to sign up unless they held specific jobs. Would you be against that too? Because, at my age I'd put myself forward for managing admin, decoding or anything worthwhile that I was capable of. I'd certainly not sit at home waiting for the unknown to happen.
If the UK goes to war I'd rather be dead tbh. I have literally 0 desire to live through WW3.

People can’t demand extra rights because of beliefs though, especially if those demands impact negatively on the rights of others.

... or get some photos. There is a solution there if you want to vote 🤷‍♀️
Um, some of us are ill and have various issues that make what seems easy to everyone else pretty difficult for us. A little understanding/compassion, please?

I couldn't vote for a party whose leader thinks some women have a penis so that simplifies matters for me.
Considering how there doesn't appear to be any party standing up for the vulnerable and the poor, this is my hot button issue that may decide where my vote goes if I'm able to place one. I know I could never, ever endorse anybody who is willing to go along with the whole "some women have penises" thing.

I'm not anti-trans but I am anti the fetish freaks who have hijacked the movement and brag about their "girl dicks" while they barge their way into female spaces. It's terrifying these thugs have been given validation and power.

From Women's Aid
Our position has been developed as we respond to the trend towards the gender neutral commissioning of services. This is leading to women-led, single sex services losing funding.
Also if you can't define what a Woman actually is then you can't defend single sex spaces. I mean if Kier thinks only 99.9% of Women don't have penises then by definition Men will be allowed to access Female single sex spaces because they are 'Women'
Finally for those who think it's all about toilets, can you explain where you stand on religious Women not being allowed within the vicinity of Male bodies or are they now relegated to a 3rd class that has no rights.

Why would the government close waitrose down? None of the parties is actually suggesting banning private education either, just taxing it fairly. To be honest if maintaining the privileges of middle class life is the priority at the expense of the less fortunate then maybe you just vote the same as you always have?

I'll vote tactically. Whilst I do fundamentally believe the system is broken, the Tories have been playing in our faces for too long. However many years of austerity apparently to help the economy and all they have done is to widen the gap between the rich and the poor. People say that Labour were crap with money, but at least they were spending it on public services rather than siphoning it into their own back pockets.
