Thank you for your reply! My doctor literally told me nothing like that.. I’m guessing it was because it was a quick over the phone chat instead of face to face? But they did say they’d refer me to fertility. I’ve done a whole afternoon of googling and now I don’t know if I feel better or worse

Thank you for your reply! It all started because I had a period in September, then nothing until the end of December and have had nothing since then. I contacted the doctors in November and they gave me the whole “it’s just your body getting used to no contraception” which felt a bit off as I came off at the start of 2020. So just plodded along, and then at the end of January I had enough so went back which is when they agreed to do the tests.

I have a “normal” BMI so not considered overweight and my doctor said this is probably why it was overlooked (by a different doctor) as PCOS.
I’m glad I finally have an answer - even if it’s the answer I don’t want but at least there are options.

My doctor said they will refer me to fertility and to keep trying until then, I’ll definitely invest in some OPKs for when my husband returns from his deployment (in 2 weeks!). I did lie and tell the doctor I’ve been trying every month for a year because I know they probably wouldn’t have referred me if I was completely honest.

I will keep my head up and keep trying! xx

Okay here’s my story so far! We decided to start trying in October after having to postpone our wedding for the second time, for nearly two years.

I came off the pill which I’d been on for nearly 10 years (the mini pill for over 5 years and hadn’t had a period in that time) so I was really surprised that I started my “period” pretty much straight away. I’ve been tracking my periods on the Flo app and have been pretty much regular since then. I bought some of the ovulation sticks to try out, and achieved a static peak fertility sign once (which again really surprised

Unfortunately in December I had some medical issues diagnosed which I needed surgery for in February, which meant we had to stop trying for a few months. However I now have the all clear so we can start trying again! I’m currently on my period so ready for my ovulation date in a few weeks!

It’s all a bit of a mine field because I’m so new to it all so looking forward to chatting to you all x

Yes that’s true! Honestly don’t worry too much! I bleed much more than I should which is how I was diagnosed, rather than the opposite of missing periods! (Which I wouldn’t mind too much if not ttc ) but I’ve been taking supplements, zinc, magnesium and selenium which are meant to help with fertility/ regular cycles etc. They’ve definitely reduced my period length from 8 or 9 days to 5 or 6 and much lighter

Does anyone have long cycles? I’m finding it really frustrating, I’m in my 9th month but only 7th cycle. They are currently around 40 days, with ovulation not happening until at least day 26-29. Every month that my period comes it breaks me a bit more knowing I’ve got so long to go to even ovulate again.

What’s everyone opinion on the vaccine whilst ttc?
Will you have it? I’m not sure. Been trying for 2.5 years and finally have an appt for a HyCoSy next month

My cycle was 50 days and ovulation was around day 36. The cycle I conceived though, my ovulation was two weeks late and I ovulated on day 50! I understand that frustration of having less chances for it to happen and the long wait. Don’t lose hope

Hi everyone! My husband and I are in our first month of TTC, I only came off the pill in Feb so we were going to wait a bit longer but decided to just roll with it but absolute not getting our hopes up. Currently in the TWW and overanalysing every twinge (and there are many!) but only around 3DPO (I think, possibly still not regular after the pill) so a long wait ahead!

AF started today right on time as predicted! Can’t believe I felt so weird the past week or so, definitely something to be said for talking yourself into symptom spotting, must have just had a funny month. Also those evap lines are totally cruel - I’ve genuinely had 4 positives within around 10-15 minutes, albeit faint. It kind of makes me think maybe it was a chemical pregnancy but unsure if you get positives from them. Ah well, onwards and upwards - have redownloaded my Ovia fertility app as you reminded me that it exists and we will try again next month!!

Hope you are doing ok, thank you for checking in let me know how you get on! Xx

oh no I’m so gutted for you
It sounds like a chemical to me, you wouldn’t really get faint lines without any hormone present I’d have thought?! Let alone all the symptoms too! Wishing you all the luck for this next cycle
I’m doing Ok - I’m not due til Friday so won’t test until then, felt super crampy this morning but who knows!

For people asking about the covid vaccine, it’s entirely a decision to make for yourself. I was going to delay it but then had it as I heard actually getting covid was more likely to mess up fertility (I saw a tik tok lol) either way I was going to have it.

We have our first fertility appointment next week so feel weirdly giddy even though I know it’s a long road, feels like finally we are getting somewhere.

I had a shorter period than normal this month which came as a surprise as the one thing I can count on is 7 day period! It’s been 4 this month, anyone got any ideas why?!

Had a little break but need to share with someone. Had our appointment with the fertility clinic this week and got told that our only hope of a pregnancy based on my age and my partners test results (which is ironic as he already two kids which were conceived naturally and quickly) is to have IVF. Was a bit of a blow to be honest, we knew it was a possibility but was quite hard to hear. Not sure it’s even an option for us, would be self funded and the chances of a successful pregnancy are under 10%, if we wait even longer that’ll drop even more. They also reckon we’ll possibly need 2-3 cycles, so need to have £15k available, not sure that’s an option for us
I just feel so sad. I’m an only child and I just always assumed I’d have a baby at some point, my Mum had me at 41 so I’ve always been quite blasé about it
My partner doesn’t seem to get why I’m so upset, he’s always been happy enough to have another child but he just doesn’t seem to get why I’m so bothered by it...we argued the other night and he suggested I’d best ‘go and find myself someone that isn’t a jaffa’ that’s not even a consideration for me but would just like him to realise how difficult I’m finding this
