Been off the pill for just over year, officially started “trying” 10/11 months ago.

Can I ask did you get any early symptoms ?

Had a little break but need to share with someone. Had our appointment with the fertility clinic this week and got told that our only hope of a pregnancy based on my age and my partners test results (which is ironic as he already two kids which were conceived naturally and quickly) is to have IVF. Was a bit of a blow to be honest, we knew it was a possibility but was quite hard to hear. Not sure it’s even an option for us, would be self funded and the chances of a successful pregnancy are under 10%, if we wait even longer that’ll drop even more. They also reckon we’ll possibly need 2-3 cycles, so need to have £15k available, not sure that’s an option for us
I just feel so sad. I’m an only child and I just always assumed I’d have a baby at some point, my Mum had me at 41 so I’ve always been quite blasé about it
My partner doesn’t seem to get why I’m so upset, he’s always been happy enough to have another child but he just doesn’t seem to get why I’m so bothered by it...we argued the other night and he suggested I’d best ‘go and find myself someone that isn’t a jaffa’ that’s not even a consideration for me but would just like him to realise how difficult I’m finding this

can you not get a free cycle on the nhs where you live? X

So this might be a bit tmi but I’m only 9dpo and not due on for 5 days (I’m super regular) but I’ve just wiped and had brownish/red blood. Now trying to figure out if I’m coming on early for some reason or could it be implantation? I did miscarry in December but my last 2 cycles have been normal. Has anyone else had this? I’m super confused!

Have you had this before? I tend to get brown spotting about 3/4 days before AF most months.

This may have been discussed already, what’s the thoughts on having the covid vaccine whilst TTC? Has anyone seen any proper medical advise about it online?

Apparently I have an underlying condition (not sure what lol, maybe a heart murmur?!) so I’m able to get the vaccine but I’m in 2 minds as it’s not been thoroughly tested.

Hi lovelies! I’m a newbie here and it’s been really interesting looking through these threads. I got my implant out this week after waiting months for my GP to book an appt. I’m just wondering whether anybody on here was using the implant prior to trying, and if so, how long did it take for your cycles to return? I’m not expecting a miraculous conception overnight lol, just interested to hear in other experiences

Errr I had a period straight after ... And again 2 weeks later ... And again 2 weeks later (but I was having periods on the implant too so not sure that helps much).

on the clear blue ovulation what is the difference between flashing smiley & static smiley? I only get static smiley for one day & never see flashing?

Is it the purple sticks? Flashing is high fertility and then static is peak. The static should stay for 48hrs so you can’t test after you get that

All my cycles I’ve had a flashing smiley, static smiley. This time nothing. What does it mean.
I am going to test for another 5 days.
Does anyone have any suggestions ?

oh gosh that sounds unusual? I believe (after googling) that the flashing comes up after detecting an oestrogen surge (is that the other hormone?) but perhaps it wasn’t enough to keep going or was a false start? What CD are you now? Have you tried testing at a different time of day?

I'm only cycle day 3. Feeling rubbish with a heavy period (sorry if that's TMI). Trying to decide whether to track ovulation this month or not. I did the first 3 months then tried without last time.

Did you find it easier not tracking last month?

Hi everyone

I’m not all that sure if this falls into this category or not but anyadvice would be really appreciated.
We’ve been ttc for 6 months. I stopped the pill but hadn’t tracked anything. Periods have been every 4/5 weeks.
I’ve felt quite unwell for a few weeks but had tested positive for Covid. So put it down to that.
I had a routine blood test on Monday which included HCG which has come back as positive. Obviously very shocked but happy.
Went for a scan today as my partner and I were just too excited. I expected to be around 5-6 weeks as my last period was lighter. I’m actually 26 weeks .
I’m a bit traumatised. Can’t really talk to the doctor as it’s bank holiday and I’m so worried that we’ve missed bloods/screening and we have not got much time to get used to it!
Has anyone else had anything like this????

Everyone else has added stellar advice so can’t add anything but just wanted to echo a congratulations and I’m sure the maternity will get you sorted ASAP. I’m sure there is procedure for cases like this so don’t panic, they’ll know exactly what to do. Call your local midwife etc tomorrow and explain and they’ll take care of the rest.
In the mean time be kind to yourself and don’t panic about anything. You’ve got plenty of time to get everything together!

Well I bought a digi CB and BFN can’t get any clearer than “not pregnant”. It’s like a punch to the gut! Just want AF to arrive now to end this waiting game. I’m having a glass of Prosecco!

I'm so confused at the moment about where I am in my cycle (which I don't think I'll know). I have never had regular periods in my life, no pcos and had a laparoscopy in 2020 which confirmed no endometriosis. Had my Mirena coil out April 21st and bled lightly (bar half a day which was heavy then stopped) from April 23rd - 25th. I thought a withdrawal period would be classed as a period but now after reading further, it's not? So where I thought I was on my cycle, is probably wrong I have been OPK testing everyday, highest reading I've had is 27. Have had bizarre symptoms for the last 5-6 days, awful headaches, nausea, upset tummy twice, clammy hands (never had this before in my life). Tested and bfn as expected, but did just in case yesterday and today but used the easy @ home HCG strips. I have felt awful for nearly a week and just can't put my finger on it! Also been doing Covid-19 lfd tests and all negative.

Is there a ridiculously small chance that I am pregnant if withdrawal bleed wasn't classed as period and I still ovulated with Mirena? Obviously hoping that's the case because I feel so unwell and struggling with work

I am in the same boat as you with not really having a clue where I am this first cycle so I know it’s super stressful and everything seems related. I have been feeling pretty rotten some days too and am putting it down to hormone withdrawal/my own hormones returning and rebalancing. I had an awful headache for about a week which I now think could have been down to low estrogen, whilst my body hadn’t started balancing itself after the pill.

Do you think it could be that maybe making you feel poorly? Hormones are responsible for so much more than we think!

Maybe do a test so you can rule it out, whilst it’s unlikely it’s not impossible it could be pregnancy.

Also I would count it as a period in terms of what day of your cycle you are on. So I think you would be on CD 15 which is still very early for a post birth control cycle, so don’t worry about the LH tests. I’m CD 22 and still super low too and have been driving myself crazy with worry but from what I’ve seen online it’s totally normal to have a while before you first ovulate when off BC.

I use the Premom ones. I bought a box of 100 from Amazon and they seem pretty decent. I am BBT testing alongside them because although th strips will detect your surge, it is actually your temperature that will confirm if/when ovulation happened

I may do the same... I have thermometers everywhere thanks to work (I have to temp check 4 times a day!) so I’ll write it down!

Just an update- I took a frer this morning with 2nd MU and a faint line come up- I honestly thought this would be stronger? I have rang my GP to ask for a blood test to either confirm pregnancy or out rule it- I feel terrified incase this is another loss suppose the positive thing is that I have had no bleeding/AF just want to know what’s going on xx

Anyone recommend any vitamins for men, specifically for TTC? My partner wants to get some for this cycle.

Hi everyone, AF is late and still not arrived- I have worked it out properly and apparently according to a app I have downloaded I am now only 2 days late. Still no AF so I have just taken this cheapie test. There’s a faint line not even a squinter in real life! Surely it should be darker than this?? Unless I have ovulated later than I thought or implanted late?

I will test again tomorrow morning with FMU... can you see a line? Xxx
