Also went to a spiritual church and the medium told me about a very specific decoration in my room that wasn’t common

Just remembered another, promoted by the graveyard talk. My dad used to be quite a keen runner and was out on a stretch of road in the winter, pitch dark. He was jogging along and was suddenly grabbed by the shoulders from behind- he thought he was being attacked! As he turned around and saw there was nobody there, a car absolutely sped out of the turning he would have been running through. It would have struck him without a doubt.
He went back the next day to try try to work out what had happened. Over the high wall next to him there was a graveyard that he had never known existed.

Bear with me here! My grandad (mums dad) passed away when I was 16. My sister would have been 19. At the time although she could drive she didn’t have her own car and was insured to drive my dads car. She used to get the train to work which was a bit of a pain as there was only one train an hour to where she worked.
so understandably my mum took some time off work after my grandad passed away and while she was off work, my dad would drive my mums car to work so my sister could take my dads car. I’d say this was a month or so after he died. My mum had every intention of staying off work for longer and my sister planned to drive my dads car to work, but one morning she decided very spare of the moment that she would go to work so this meant my sister got the train and couldn’t drive my dads car. That very morning when my dad was going to work the steering went on the car and went veering off into the pavement and he narrowly missed a bus stop full of schoolkids waiting to get the bus to school! It’s only because my dad is an experienced driver he could gain control! If my sister had been driving that car god knows what would have happened.
perhaps it was coincidence but my mum was so adamant she wouldn’t be going to work then suddenly to change her mind like something was subconsciously telling her my sister couldn’t drive that car! We like to think it was my grandad looking out for her!

I was walking through our local graveyard with my daughter on a boiling day during lockdown and I suddenly had this overwhelming feeling of fear and I couldn’t physically walk another step forward. We’ve walked through it 100s of times but that day we turned and ran back out the other way.

Another story, i was having a lay in one morning, home alone when i heard a huge smash. I honestly thought someone had broke in, i froze for a minute & the place went completely silent so i slowly creeped down the stairs only to find my glass dining room table had smashed into thousands of pieces, literally. But the vase was still balancing perfectly still in the centre on the podium. Everyone I’ve told has said it must be a faulty table. Anyway, i had a medium come round (Tracey Starke if you live in Essex) highly recommend. She told me there was a very angry spirit in the room where the table smashed (i never told her about it) & his name is John. Funny enough, when i moved into my house there were drawings on the wall in the walk in closet of a staircase leading to heaven with the words ‘i miss you daddy’ turns out the dad had shot himself in there. Whenever i talk about it out loud strange things happen!

Years ago, after my parents had died and I'd moved into my current house which I was doing up, I went to see a medium recommended by a work colleague. One of the things that stuck in my mind was that she seemed very puzzled by one thing - she said "I've got an older man here and he keeps talking about door knobs, cupboard door knobs. He says 'just get the bloody knobs sorted'". What she didn't know was that I'd had the naff doors taken off the built-in wardrobes and replaced them with lovely reclaimed wooden ones but the guy doing the work hadn't fitted the knobs to them yet which was a bit of a pain. When I told him, he fitted them that day and said that he'd never been nagged by a ghost before! It was so like my dad to fixate on the bloody door knobs 😂.

Yday morning when I woke up I decided to lay in bed longer and picked up my phone, came on tattle and onto this thread - I never do that in mornings, I’m usually up and out of bed without even going on my phone and especially wouldn’t read the ghost story thread til evening time but for some reason yesterday morning was different.

I saw a few people commented on spiritual churches - I’ve never heard of these before and was interested so I googled my nearest one.Turns out there’s one just a few minutes walk away from where I live (moved here only about a month ago).

I rang up yesterday day to ask about any services they have on in the future and to my luck there was one yesterday evening and this evening just gone.

I attended a little nervous and immediately once the service got rolling the medium said he had to come to me - he gave a very detailed description of my grandmother who I recently lost and who I was extremely close to. He had a message for me from her which hit the nail on the head about the way I’ve been feeling recently. He said things about her nobody would have known. And described her personality to a T. He passed on a message I really needed to hear.

I think that was a nudge from her for me to find this place and to attend so she could tell me something. I believe spirit work in many small ways throughout our day to divert us to what’s right for us.

Totally not a ghost story but odd how things work out.

We have recently bought a 6 bed cottage, my Mum lives with me and my husband plus our three children so that's why its so big.... anyway.
We all chose bedrooms and migrated to those rooms quite easily but downstairs we were all drawn away from one room from the start. We have set up one room as a lounge, one as a play room, one as a office and the other is a kitchen and utility. But one room which is pretty big we named the 'nothing room'.

We have taken the gardener on from the previous owner who had sadly passed away and he said to me a few weeks back, ' how come you have the lounge in that room' pointing. I said oh we all just preferred that room. He smiled and said, what are you using this room for (pointing at nothing room). I said, 'We all can not decide what its for so for now its the 'nothing room'. He said, 'that is so strange. It was the previous owners favourite room and its where she had her hospital bed looking out the window. She died there'.

I don't think or feel anything but its strange how we were all drawn to other rooms. We have recently made it the playroom, I just feel like she would dislike her favourite room being the 'nothing room' and I now feel so much more drawn to the room.

that must be terrifying for your cousin to wake up in the same bed as a little girl 😱
I had not noticed you replied to this so sorry for the late response and she wasn’t scared because she thought it was her sister or a cousin as the boys and girls shared beds in that house as the house was quite small. But then when she woke up no one was there so she asked my aunt who was in the bed with her last night and my aunt went “no one your sister slept in with me and the boys were in their own room”

I lived with my mam, grandad and nana altogether for the majority of my life. My grandad was Catholic and had strong beliefs of an afterlife. My mam became his main carer and spent many hours in the lead up to his passing, talking about the afterlife. My grandad wasn't scared of dying. He became bed bound and one day, prior to being on medication for pain control, he announced he had a visitor at the end of the bed. He believed his mam (she had died when he was very young) came to get him but he told her to leave as he wasn't ready yet. He described her and the sighting gave him such hope and reassurance. My mam would joke on and say if there was an afterlife, he should let us know but not to haunt us. He'd always promised he wouldn't come into our bedrooms but he would let us know one way or the other. After his death, the family all gathered in the funeral home to say prayers for our last goodbye. The room was silent as we all gathered our thoughts. My mam joked to ease the sadness how my grandad had said he would let us know of the afterlife. Then out of nowhere, my cousins phone went. It said in Arnies voice "I'll be back". My cousin swears he turned his phone to silent and that wasn't even set as his ringtone. We all took is as a sign. Small things have happened since in our home, where only my mam lives now as my nana is in care but she never feels alone and every now and then will see a dark shadow wondering along her passage. She likes to believe it is her dad and not the old woman who died in the passage before we moved in! Ha!

I have loved reading these stories so much!!
But I’m not so big and clever once darkness falls and I wake during the night convinced I’m going to see something or someone at the end of my bed or even worse,in front of my face!! 😂
I really do hope there is an afterlife and we get to see all our loved ones again ❤

These stories are so interesting and thankfully I don't feel too scared to go to bed haha. I've been to see clairvoyants over the years but yet to find anyone I believe in a sense but I have had a few things happen over the years similarly to many others involving an old pub. We've had the pub in the family for over 25 years, we would always hear strange noises but we'd laugh it off. One night I was woke up by someone going to the toilet at night. Only me and my sister were there in the flat above so obviously i assumed it was her. There was wooden flooring and I heard what sounded like heels walking across the landing and into the bathroom. My bed was against the bathroom wall so I banged my fist on the wall and said thanks you've just woke me up! She didn't say anything so I banged again and said the same thing but louder. No response again, I banged once more and then thought forget it and went back to sleep annoyed she had ignored me. The next morning I said to her why were you so loud last night, you woke me up. She said what? I said "when you went to the toilet, it woke me up!" She laughed and said "shut up I never went to the toilet" She eventually believed me but for a long time she thought I was joking trying to scare her. We think it's my moms spirit as there are too many things that have happened, she passed away a year after we got the pub. My dad bought it for her and we still feel her there now. Sorry that's longer than I expected and so much more I could add 100% truth 😬 Sleep well 😂

When I was younger I had a few strange experiences happen to me that I couldn't explain, tbh I've always kinda felt like I had some sort of ability as in like I knew things were going to happen before they did. Not big things though. Not so much now that I'm older. One particular experience I will never forget was when I was about 11 I think? I was home alone (my mum literally next door in the neighbours) I was watching Most Haunted i think it was the live Summer Solstice. My mum had one of those tall thin wooden CD cabinets. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed a CD on the bottom shelf start to come out. I remember being so terrified it felt like I was literally frozen. The CD edged out like stopping and starting until about half way until I literally flew off the couch, pushed it back in and ran next door to get my mum. Naturally she thought I'd just got freaked out by the TV show but I know what I saw. I never could bring myself to look and see what CD it was but I wish I really had now incase it had any significance. To this day I still don't think my mum really believes me but she did say years later she did feel uneasy in that house but she couldn't explain why.

To add to that, my dads kept the old style jukebox with CDs. There's 80 CDs in there and if no one puts any money in to it, it will choose a random song from a random cd every 15 minutes. On many occasions (we have lost count) when you'd be there alone, cleaning the bar the jukebox would come on random. Out of all those CDs and songs it would choose my mom and dads song. The CDs are mixed songs/artists too, you know when you used to be able to burn your own haha.
Another time whilst me and my dad were outside gardening, a bar worker was hoovering the bar. We heard a loud scream and he ran outside, leaving the hoover running. He said he just saw a woman with blonde hair in a long red dress standing in one of the arched doorways that leads into another room. So long story short my dad has always kept a large photo of my mom propped up on a shelf in the bar from when they were younger and she is in a red dress. He told us he used to call her lady in red from that song. I've never seen her but my dad/sisters have, I think it's because she knows I'd die of fear 😱😂

I went to a pub on a night out and a woman I've never met before started chatting to me and eventually told me my Grandmother was there. She told me several things which were very personal, secret and correct. My OH and I were going through a terrible time and she told me we would be okay, which we are. I never saw the woman again.
Somewhat similar. Years ago after very invasive surgery I fell into a deep depression. It was a daily struggle for me and after nearly two years of this I thought this was my life forever. Anyway around midnight one summer night I was sat alone diddling on my laptop. It was a seriously warm night so I had all my doors open and the living room was in darkness, just the light from the laptop. Then I got that "someone is watching me " vibe and I looked away from the laptop and there was an old lady stood in the middle off my living room smiling at me. I tit a brick of course! Anyway she was a lovely elderly woman, long white hair and wearing a long sleeved dress nearly to her ankles. She held out her hand with a large card in it. I tentatively took it and just kept staring at her waiting for her to attack me or something, but she just retained that serene smile and said quietly "Jesus loves you, he really does. You will be fine". I glanced at the card and in the light from the lappy could see it was an image of Jesus in a pastoral scene. I looked up again and the woman was gone. I jumped up, flipped the lights on and went to my front door and she was nowhere to be seen. Walked to the gate, checked the street, nothing. I had lived in that area most of my life and knew the few locals and the few neighbourhood oddballs and yet I'd never seen that woman before. I checked the card for details of printing or Church details, but there was nothing, just the image, really weird. Hubby reckoned it was too creepy and that I should throw the card away but I put it in a cupboard among other stuff and forgot about it. Oddly enough soon afterwards I began to see light at the end of the tunnel of my depression and began to recover. I like to think she was an angel reminding me to hang in there just when I badly needed reassurance.
Sorry, not very dramatic.

We moved into my partners mums house whilst we were saving for ours, her house was huge and was at least a few hundred years old. A few weird things happened!

She said on multiple occasions when she was in bed at night she could here someone sat in the corner of the room ‘sipping on a drink’ and after a few times she sat up and shouted ‘will you be quiet!’ And she never heard it again.

Another time my partner lost his keys and we searched every inch of the house. Ended up having to pay and order new keys then about 4 months later the toilet broke so had to get someone to fix it and they were in the water tank! It’s an old toilet so the toilet tank was high up.

She always used to say she would lose things and they would be missing for months then they would just suddenly appear in the most obvious place at significant times

My sister saw a medium while I was pregnant but before we’d told anyone if it was a boy/girl or the names we’d chosen. (bit of background our Nana & Grandad died of cancer within 5 day of each other when we were in our teens) The medium kept saying “Your Nana is thrilled about *name*, she’s so happy”. But my sister was insistent she knew no-one with that name.
The next day I send my sister a pic of our 20 wk scan with the caption “say hello to *name*!” She rang me straight away sobbing saying “Nana knows!!” It made me so happy she knew and still brings me comfort.
