I’m loving this thread! I frequently get sleep paralysis. I hate it but don’t feel the presence thing that other people do. Just that I can’t breathe and try to scream but I cant.

Anyway, I haven’t really got any to share personally but have recently been utterly transfixed by the Dear David story on twitter. If you haven’t heard of it, there’s a really good recap here https://www.bustle.com/p/what-is-de...aunted-apartment-from-start-to-finish-7714979. Terrifying!!

Eek! I’d never heard of it before. Is it made up? Very spooky!

My sister was leaving Yaxley after visiting a friend and she left when it was about dusk. The roads were quiet and she said she saw a man in uniform standing to the side of the road and watched her drive past. Her phone was plugged in to the car and she was listening to a podcast but it crackled and cut out as she went past. When she looked in her rear view mirror the man was gone and her podcast carried on without any further faults!

Freaky! Very similar. They must be connected, I wonder if anyone has done any spiritual research in that area?

I might have just found my favourite thread!!

I have a few little stories that I have encountered myself but my mum and gran both see and feel ghosts around!

For the past 3 years at christmas strange things have happened to my mum. My mum keeps her decorations in the loft and the first time she went up she brought everything down but the star for the tree was missing, she hunted high and low and never found it so bought a new one, the following christmas again brought everything down and in the box was something she had never seen before, was like a bell on brightly coloured string and last year she went up again to get the decortations but they were not up in the loft! She emptied it and searched but no they werent there, so she came back down and a few days later wanted another look, and right in the middle of the loft in full view was her decorations!! I wonder what will happen this year!!
I seen someone walk into the bathroom from the bottom of the stairs to which I shouted on my brother as i thought he was upstairs but turns out no one was upstairs!

did anything happen that Christmas im intrigued to know ?

The Dear David thread on Twitter gave me nightmares! I read it ages ago when the blogger first posted it and I wish I hadn't. Very, very scary although it makes you feel better, I dont actually think it's real.

Saturday at 9pm I think on Really he has a show relating to other people similar experiences.

If you haven't seen it watch "A Ghost Story". Brilliant film, it's fictional (I think!) but it will really make you think about what happens to somewhere over time.

I was walking along the road yesterday and a women was walking towards me and then in a split second she vanished into thin air. There was nowhere for her to go to and there was only us there.

I was at work Monday night, I’m a cleaner, so I go and clean the building after hours once everyone has gone home, I unset the alarm when arriving, set again when leaving.

I phoned my friend whilst there Monday night, cos there wasn’t much to to do, I was bored, helps pass the time. We’re on a video call...

I take the lift to the first floor, I go into the offices do what I’m doing, come out to where the elevator is to see the elevator doors open! So I’m like ok, probably nothing... I start hoovering and they open again! I’m showing my friend like, look!! I even Hoover towards the elevator to see if it was me who set it off, nope... So I’m like fuck this I’m not using that, I carry the hoover down the stairs, sod health and safety at this point! I go downstairs, do what I’m doing in reception, all the while still on the call with my friend, and the elevator doors OPEN, on the GROUND FLOOR!! Bearing in mind I’ve walked down the stairs, so how did the elevator get downstairs with only me in the building and the doors open again?! I screamed and left! Never felt so scared in my life. The person who picked me up from work that night even said they’ve never seen me look so scared in my life.

Then Tues night I was sat waiting for someone to pick me up, again, on a call to my friend, my friend raises their eyebrows, so I nod back, and I’m like so you heard that too then? And they went yep - there was a goddamn bang in the room I was sat in!

It’s not really a ghost story but in our house there’s been a lot of sadness (just from us) and there’s now a thing here. It uses our voices to call each other example my voice calling on of the kids. It sounds silly I know but it’s so weird.

Have you all heard it?

So the hat man...
My best friend is quite a spiritual, easy-going person and has had a lot of ghostly encounters, they seem to be drawn to him, and he never feels scared. But he says the hat man has visited him regularly since he was a teenager, and that every time he sees him he's filled with dread, the man truly terrifies him. He barely talks about it because it scares him so much (as well as me and our other friend), but he did tell me he saw him again recently as he came out of the bathroom, the man was watching him get back into bed across the landing. I'd be shutting the effing door

I'm one of those "scared of the idea but skeptical they're real" people. I find it all so interesting but then I'm always thinking there must be a logical, scientific explanation for the things people experience
I kind of get it when someone is very open to the idea they are more likely to have an experience because their minds are alert for that sort of thing. It's when you hear the stories from people that closed their minds off to the idea and they suddenly have an experience!! It's so fascinating.
I've never completely closed my mind off to it but I have also never really experienced anything.

Me and my partner keep joking we have a ghost kitty. Just to funnily explain when I can see my ginger cat in my peripheral vision only to realise he's in the other room, or when our cat randomly howls excitedly at our dining room door or the corner of our lounge, we just say he's chatting to the ghost kitty the previous owners did have cats!

I’ve only seen him once but I won’t forget it, I still don’t understand it tbh, I was wide awake but lazing in bed at the time. The house had a horrible vibe so he was the last straw and I moved

I’ve had sleep paralysis it’s awful.
My middle son is 6 and he can tell me all about his past life to the point. Story never changes. He also tells me how he died in a fire and the birth mark on his back is like a burn .
I was asleep last week and awoke to a book I’d put on my drawers laid on the floor next to me. I’m guessing someone threw it as a massive bang woke me up and then I found it.
Our house has started creeping me out for about 2 months though I get weird feelings every know and again like an urgency and it will be freezing cold then just go completely.

Can you tell us what he’s told you?
