I used to love 'Most Haunted' when it first started. The first couple of series were great. Even Derek was good. As usual though it went on about 5 series too long.

Yeah the original series were the best I cant get in to the newer series

I was walking along the road yesterday and a women was walking towards me and then in a split second she vanished into thin air. There was nowhere for her to go to and there was only us there.

Were you the only one who saw her? And did she look out of place with clothes or anything?

A white cottage with a thatched roof. I wish I could remember the name of it though. It was 19 years ago when I stayed there.

you dont by any chance work in Liverpool do you ? there is a building in Liverpool this happened in frequently and a security guard witnessed it as well


this made me think of a couple of dreams I had one was shortly after my nan died in 2007 she lived in a rented house and the next family that live there now arent very nice people, I jokingly said "I bet nan will come to haunt them" I had a very vivid dream she was sitting on a chair in the living room with what I can only presume was their furniture getting her hair done just laughing at the lady who lived in the house ,(shes a mobile hairdresser) and she was screaming dont mess with my family and as I approached her she turned and looked at me and said its alright they wont bother us again, we had been getting hassle from the girls husband almost daily , a few weeks after I visited my niece who lived next door to this family and she said the lady had knocked , my niece thought there was going to be trouble but the lady very sheepishly apologised for all she had done , as she went to go she turned back and said to my niece did your nan ever wear her hair in a hairnet and my niece said yes with rollers when she was getting her hair set, the woman went pale and said she found a hairnet and a roller on one of her chairs and cant for the life of her think who would have put it there,my niece knew nothing of my dream until she relayed this to me . The other visitation I had was in 2015 my FIL died very suddenly , my husband kept saying my dad wont come to me , I went to bed later than my husband this one time and about 4 in the morning I dreamt id been woken up and I felt a weight at the end of the bed, then my FIL appeared in my dream so vividly I said to him go to your son he needs you he nodded , he never ever wore a suit except at our wedding and his burial, next day my husband said "I had the strangest dream I dreamt my dad came to tell me he was ok and not to worry, I said oh right he said yeah he the suit on that we buried him in" I went cold , about 10 minutes after we woke up our landline phone went and it was my SIL saying she had been woken up by something at approx 4 am and she said she wasnt scared just soothed by it , a few minutes later my husbands younger brother was talking and said I dreamt about my dad coming to see me I woke up at about 4 in the morning at this point I was totally freaked out .

I listened to a podcast about that last year and had to sleep with the lights on for a week!

Speaking of monks, there's a pub in my hometown that's rumoured to be haunted by an ecclesiastical order. Apparently, a former landlord woke up one night to the sound of monks chanting from the (deserted) floor above. I don't know why, but something about ghostly monks really shits me up!

I was supposed to spend 3 nights in the house back in August. I've got friends that have had some mad stuff happen in that house.
That sounds like an amazing place to visit! Alcohol and ghostly monks, what more could anyone want haha. You don't have to answer this but what is the pub called/where is it?

Many moons ago my daughter then aged 9 woke up in the night screaming about a man in her room
Thinking she was dreaming I sorted her out and went back to bed
The next morning she told me about this man-it was my granddad who had brought me up
She’d never met him nor seen a picture of him
She got every detail right down to ‘his silver hair mum-it wasn’t gray’
When he was alive he’d always say his hair was silver it wasn’t gray

A few nights later she woke up again screaming-she told me a pair of giant hands had come out of the wall at her
But one of the fingers had a lump instead of a nail-again that was my granddad-an accident at work left him like that

A friend of mine passed away and I was waiting for my lift to her funeral-I stood up to get a Diet Coke out of the fridge and she appeared in my doorway,she smiled and faded away

I often feel people stroking my hair

My youngest daughter would often wake up and start laughing at nothing as tho someone was playing with her

When I was pregnant with my son I was expecting twins but lost one at ten weeks
I then after a high risk pregnancy gave birth to my son
For months afterwards we should hear a baby crying upstairs-when baby was in his car seat next to me-asleep
None of our neighbours had a baby so couldn’t have been them

I used to keep toys in a cupboard under my stairs but in my lounge-I’d just put them away when a hand appeared and pushed them out-the hand was as clear as day

I often see orbs

My ex was telling me about a landlord of his who used to be a teacher-my ex moved out after a bad experience (which was his fault but he tried to push the blame on his landlord)
His landlord died a few months later-but appeared the night I was told the story in my bedroom and he wasn’t happy

I was told my pregnancy was high risk and could kill me so it would be best to abort
that night I went to bed and as I was drifting off I saw a golden light and just knew everything would be ok-I had a healthy boy

I often see people in the corner of my eye-one day I saw a dog as clear as day walk past me as I was stood at my back door looking at my garden
3 weeks later my son bought himself a rescue dog-the same dog I’d seen in my garden

That’s amazing about your grandad and the dog!

Yes my nephew saw the ghost of someone we knew who died around 15 years ago... he was from a completely different part of the UK. Apparently he was there to haunt them both

This was really intriguing - an old man your sister knew died and then found her in a different part of the country to haunt her?

in the 2.5 years since she passed, I've had probably about 8 now. I'd sound like a crazy person if I said everything I want to! the conversations are always 2 sided, coherent and I'm sort of thinking about what I say whereas in a dream you don't do you? I've never spoke to anyone else that's had this either! feel free to message if we can on here xx

For some bizarre reason I started reading this in bed last night and it freaked me out!
Haven’t had any paranormal experiences myself.
However my cousin had all sorts of strange goings on at her house. There would be loud thuds from upstairs so she’d rush to check on the kids thinking one of them had fallen out of bed. All sound asleep.
lights in her house would go on and off, things would go missing and turn up in strange places.
The one that freaked me out the most was her dog standing at the bottom of the stairs growling. Her youngest kid who was a toddler at the time refused to go upstairs because of the old man standing there!

they did some research and found that a former tenant had died there. As far as I know it’s all quiet now and they still live in the house!

I've got a few stories. We currently live in an old cottage and have regularly heard loud bangs from the bathroom.. I hate it in there. I don't know why but it really scares me in there. I sense a woman is telling me to get out. I thought maybe my mind was playing tricks on me until my friend said she thought my bathroom felt weird (this is before I had even told her about my own feelings).

When I first met my husband 15 years ago he lived in a house with his two best friends. I would go and visit and often stay over. The whole house made me absolutely terrified. If I needed the loo in the night I would make him come with me. He probably thought I was mad. I was there in the house one day on my own while he was at work. I was sat in the living room watching TV. And I could hear the toaster going up and down from the kitchen and I was definitely the only one there at the time. I told him how scared I was of the house and he kind of dismissed how I felt as he doesn't belive in any of that. Until one night the tv in his bedroom came on on its own in the middle of the night. That freaked us both out a bit. Years later, all the friends are now moved out of that house and have wives and kids etc. We all meet up quite regularly and one night we all got talking and everyone said how scared they were of that house. We have since found out that someone committed suicide in the house about 30 years ago. So who knows?! I can't explain it but I felt very very uncomfortable there.


I've got a few more, but sometimes I don't know whether I am just being crazy. I often sense things and am really tuned into people emotionally. So much so that other people's emotions have a real impact on me if that makes sense?! Who knows. It could all be in my head x

Has anybody else ever had an experience where they smell cigarette smoke fairly frequently in their house, when nobody at all smokes or has been near anyone that smokes? I have smelled this for months now at random times, can go weeks inbetween without smelling it, thought it was me going mad but then my other half who is very much a non-believer in anything paranormal smelled it too and agreed it was strange! I just smelled it again and wondering what it is!

I used to when I first moved in, it was usually after it had rained. I assumed it was coming from next door or lingered from the previous owners. It never happens now.

No ghost stories as such but I did have a psychic warn me not to get into a car with a friend within the next week. She gave me a very distinct warning and told me the circumstances that I would be asked to go and details of the crash that would happen.

Within the week my friend asked me in the exact words the psychic used to to with her in her car. I refused to go, but feeling a bit silly, as very much a non-believer I had only gone along to keep a mate company.

The car friend’s mum called me to tell me she was in hospital following a car accident. The car had rolled several times and the roof of the car was down at the steering wheel. The police told my friend, who only had minor head injuries, that they could not understand how she’d got out alive.

It was all exactly as the psychic had described.

Oh my goodness.
