I’ve seen a ghost but telling the story doesn’t sound particularly scary. When I was about 11 I was upstairs in my bedroom. I went to go downstairs and when I walked out of my bedroom I saw something out of the corner of my eye, and saw a young lady aged around 20 with long blonde hair wearing a long white dress. She had one hand on the bannister along the landing, and was looking over it down the stairs. I must have gasped or I made some sort of noise because she turned and looked at me, then disappeared.

Slightly off topic - I also occasionally suffer from sleep paralysis. It is the most terrifying thing you can experience. Basically when you’re asleep your brain wakes up but your body doesn’t, and you can’t move or speak no matter how hard you try. In reality it probably lasts seconds but it feels like minutes! A lot of the time when this happens I see or sense an evil presence. When I see it it’s a dark shadowy figure that enters the room and comes slowly towards me. One time it got that close to me that it lifted the bed sheets and started to get on to the bed, at that point I woke properly and was able to move and speak again. It’s absolutely awful! 😨
I suffer from sleep paralysis too occasionally, mostly if I am ill or nap during the day. It is AWFUL and so scary. It feels like it lasts hours. When it happens to me, I always get a feeling of dread and "see someone" (dark shadow) in the corner of the room coming towards me and it feels like they press on my chest.

Something weird happened to me last year.

My daughter was about 14 months old, and her speech has always been quite good, so for the most part, I could communicate with her. (This is relevant, not humble bragging)

I take her with me to slimming world classes, which are held in this old village hall. They always have a sort of jumble sale on, and occasionally I’ll get a toy or item of clothing for her from there. Anyway, one day there was this owl picture. It was like a hologram pic, so looked like it moved. My daughter LOVES owls, and squealed with delight when she saw it going “Owl mummy!” It was only £1.50 so I brought it for her.

We took it home and I put it on a self in her room. That night about 1am, I awoke suddenly to my daughter screaming, I ran into her room and she was standing up in her cot completely hysterical. I picked her up trying to soothe her and said “what’s the matter darling?” and she pointed behind me and said “the man the man!-horrible man!”

I turned round and there was nothing there. It was really eerie, but I thought she must of had a bad dream. I calmed her down and she went off to sleep.

The exact same thing happened over the next three nights. At this point it was too weird for me so I took the picture from her room and put it in the living room.

That night she didn’t wake up at all. However, our 3 cats, who always sleep in the living room, came upstairs into our room and wouldn’t budge.

The next day I threw the picture out - haven’t heard about ‘The man’ since 🤷‍♀️

That is so eerie. I have heard a few stories about haunted items from jumble sales or charity shops. I hope your daughter hasn't been put off of 🦉's!

Not a haha for the happy birthday song, more so that the money money money just made me snort my drink 😂

I have so many ghost stories! Some of them still terrify me. Especially my son and his "friend".

So..

My son was about 4/5, started seeing this little boy. This little boy would play with him, talk to him, reassure him etc. Just thought it's an imaginary friend, BUT, he's autistic, really struggles with his imagination and draws things instead of speaking his emotions etc.

I was home alone with him and he turned round and said "..... wants to say hello to you mum. He won't speak in front of anyone else" my whole body went cold, hair standing up etc. Before all of this though he would giggle about his friend doing things, moving stuff etc. I told him I didn't want to speak to him because he was spooking me out. So about half hour later he comes to me with a drawing (I'll actually dig this drawing out soon) showing a picture of a boy by a tree. Told me in detail that he was alive 50 years ago and lived in a big house for naughty children because his parents were dead. Because he was so naughty, he would be "electric shocked" on the head at night time. Then one night he touched the "electric" and died. The nasty men buried him by the tree.

So by this point I was a little scared (🐔) put him to bed and said goodnight to his friend. Sat on the settee for a couple of hours researching. So.. there's an old children's home about 5mins away from mine. It was knocked down a few years ago after a nasty fire. There was loads of child cruelty cases that came about from there to do with the carers and church that worked there. Shut down years before it burned. The dates my son gave me matched up with this. It also went into detail how they would give children electric shock therapy for behavioural problems!!!

Now as my son is autistic, he sees a psychiatrist every couple of months due to how he is. We mentioned this to her. She was fascinated. We recorded him talking about him and everything. She's taken all of that and has been working on looking into this!

I seriously considered getting a priest in. It was that unnerving. But since I stitched crosses into all of his pillows he doesn't talk about him at home. He'll mention he's seen him in school though! I'm not religious at all so I think I did this as a comfort thing really for me.

Baring in mind by the time he spoke about this he was 5, he's now 8 and will randomly mention he's seen him. He never ever watched anything to encourage that or seen anything remotely similar. So god knows how he knew all of it! We don't encourage the talk as quite frankly it's scary 😂 and I'm alone with the kids!

Sorry if it's a bit rambly, I'm trying to type whilst I have him around me (by around me, I'm being pestered) 😂

I'll also try and get some more put on here later!!!
I love this story, I'm glad the little boy is harmless to your son. Please post more later! I'm glad I made this thread.

This isn’t really ‘ghosty’ But another very strange thing happened to me.

Couple of years ago, I had a psychic reading. You paid via bank transfer and set a call up with the psychic.

She was actually brilliant. I know there are a lot of charlatans out there, but I honestly was so impressed.

One of the things she said was “There’s a baby in spirit with you - when they tried to come through, it just wasn’t the right time - but they are with you, and will come at the right time.

I had a miscarriage about ten years ago, but I was very young, in uni etc, so whilst it was sad, it almost seemed like it worked out for the best - however bad that sounds.

Comforting to hear and all but the inner critic in me thought well, a lot of women have miscarriages unfortunately, so maybe it’s just something she says because she has a high chance of getting it right?

Later on that day I was mucking around on snapchat, taking selfies with the filter on etc. I took a few, it was the one with glasses. I flicked through the ones I’d saved, and one nearly made me drop my phone...

There was me, with the filter. Then underneath my chin, the glasses were there again, like they had picked up a little face I couldn’t see.. as if a baby was sat on my lap.

I didn’t see the filter come on when I was taking the picture - yet there it was.

I’ve tried to be rational, maybe the filter picked up creases in my top or something. But for that to happen right after my reading... very weird.

So glad that you still have your child with you in spirit 😇❤

Not quite a ghost story but it sort of fits in here. I have a weird thing with songs in my head. If someone is going to die I get the song happy birthday to you going round and round in my head. It's quite unnerving at an actual birthday party ha! It's happened all through my life. I get songs for all sorts of things playing in my head randomly. Some of its Sooo daft. I had food glorious food at Christmas time and won a food hamper at the school fayre that night! the we're going to the zoo, zoo zoo song playing yesterday, and today I got a text from my son's friends mum asking if he was free to go to the zoo with them next week😱 I'll take that over happy birthday tho! Forever hoping to hear money money money by abba 🤣
That's quite a cool superpower to have 🤔🎵🎶

This story happened at the same hospital however this was in 2005. I was 15 and was in the hospital for my first ever surgery. I had already been in the hospital for ten days, I was on the kids ward (as I was too young for the adult ward yet too old for the kids) .

I was bed bound and was lay watching Shrek on the laptop that the ward provided. My mum was on a high back comfy chair next to me.

I said to her “mum I need to turn over so I will need my hand back” , she said “what do you mean you need your hand back” . I said “you’re holding my hand” . My mum was like ********** I’m not” .

I looked towards her in the chair and she had her back to me curled in the chair reading a magazine. We both looked down at my hand and it was in the position as if I was holding hands.

It wasn’t scary / spooky it was just really comforting .
Thank you for sharing your second story. I loved the nurse one, it seems they like watching over you at that hospital!

I often go to see psychics and mediums. I try to go once or twice a year. I’ve seen some crap ones over the years but also some really good ones!
Some of the messages received from psychic mediums are unreal, I love having readings and find them so fascinating. Unfortunately there are some out there who are consters.

I’ve had sleep paralysis it’s awful.
My middle son is 6 and he can tell me all about his past life to the point. Story never changes. He also tells me how he died in a fire and the birth mark on his back is like a burn 😳.
I was asleep last week and awoke to a book I’d put on my drawers laid on the floor next to me. I’m guessing someone threw it as a massive bang woke me up and then I found it.
Our house has started creeping me out for about 2 months though I get weird feelings every know and again like an urgency and it will be freezing cold then just go completely.

Love reading others experiences

The night before my nana died she appeared to me in a dream and said don't worry I'm ok now then left. Then 6 months later appeared in a dream I had about a family christening we had had after she had passed. She was sat next to my grandad smiling but not saying anything.
The same night my friends dad died I dreamt the exact details around his passing- he was surrounded by his family as his body lay in bed but he stood back and watched, happy they were all there.
I'm not sure if theres any more to it than just dreams but I do get a bit of comfort from it.

Since I was little I've always had strange goings on around me, feeling a presence, having dreams that predict things etc.

Oh my God I hope you post more on that as I'm fascinated. Saying that I would be terrified if that had happened to me however. And that your son still sees him but only at school how does he react to it? Does it scare him?
He's not scared of him at all!! The name he calls him is quite an old name as well so not sure how he would have known that at such a young age.

He's told children at school about him and tried to show them. I got called in to our usual meeting by a very flustered senco who told us a lot of the stuff my son had told me at home 😂

I'm currently in the process of pacjing so when I come across his pics I'll put them up! I've kept every single one.

He has blamed his "friend" for some pretty nasty stuff though. Like when he's hurt his siblings, pet rabbit or the dogs. Says he told him to do it. But on the whole it doesn't seem like a nasty "being"

Still gives me goosebumps though 😂😂😂

(I'm on and off here quite a bit, but this thread is by far my fave at the mo! When mum life doesn't get in the way I'll be back -but thanks to all who said they were interested! I have no idea how to multi quote to reply to each of you 😂)

Oh yes it is proper horrible! It’s so vivid too like it’s actually happening! Even to the point where sometimes I hear and see the door handle moving down and the bedroom door opening when it ‘comes into the room’. Other times it’s already in there.

I’ve dreamt of my nana too after she’s died. ‘Funny’ things was in the dream I knew she was dead but I went to her house and she was lying in bed and I sat with her and we had a lovely chat. Then she said ‘I’ve got to go back now’ and I was telling her I didn’t want her to go. She was smiling and saying she had to, and then closed her eyes and passed. Felt like losing her all over again.

I do think those we love will come to us in dreams as they don’t want to do it while we are awake in case they frighten us.

Will take a look! Last night I watched Paranormal Captured that I recorded on the Pick channel. On my own downstairs and kept feeling someone was watching me then when I turned out the lights to go to bed was crapping myself! 🤣 especially after reading stories on here earlier in the day! 😂 why do I do it to myself?! Haha

I was reading about haunted dolls today ( totes normal right!) Read about one called peggy. If you watch the video apparently you get sick. I don't fancy being ill on bank holiday Monday so not risking it, but if anyone's feeling brave ( or fancies a day off work cos of sickness 🤣) just Google Peggy the haunted doll and there's links to the video. I don't actually believe this doll would make me sick,I'm on the fence with this type of thing BUT I'm being a wuss for deffo about this one 🤣 just in case!

I first heard about Robert the doll from Lore podcast. So creepy! I think you can visit him in a museum now.
Yeah and if you have Amazon Prime you can watch the lore TV series and they have done an episode on him.

Love Lore, it has given me a many sleepless night 🙈

Not exactly ghostly but my childhood dog, a dalmatian, was on her walk with me, my parents, and our other dog (the daughter of the other dog) when she suddenly started acting really strange when we walked past a really old abandoned building. She gave it a wide berth with her ears pricked up and she looked terrified. She wasn't usually an anxious dog. My parents said to me the building used to be an abbatoir. She certainly sensed something! The other dog didn't.

I'm not someone who definitely believes either way but I do want to.

In 2017 my dad passed away after a long battle with cancer. I can't remember if it was the night after or a few nights after but in a dream my mobile was ringing and I picked it up and heard my dad's voice saying 'hello', then I woke up with a start. It was like I really heard it it my bedroom as it made me wake up with a jump. I haven't had any dreams of him since.. so I do like to think it was him sending a message. It seems apt as well as my dad was of few words, like me. It just really felt like him. May have just been a stage of grief but it was comforting either way.

Ok so maybe a bank hol is not the best time to be watching Peggy 🤣 ( or any time really 😂) well maybe one of our influencers who we are actually on here for might be lurking and think it will be good content for their channel. 🤣🤣

Ohh I'll be reading this. Not tonight mind! Just looked on Amazon and it's free on Kindle unlimited. I've just done the free 30 day trial to get it! Fabulous 🙌🏻

Love these!

During early pregnancy I saw a little girl sitting on my parents stairs, she smiled at me and turned and ran off. I felt at ease and for some crazy reason I always felt like it was my daughter.
