That sounds awful! I’ve never really had the feeling of anything/anyone on top of me or in bed with me. More that I can hear things around me and I just feel pinned down.
It’s happened that often that I can now feel the point where I’m getting pulled into the sleep paralysis and usually can bring myself round before I go into it fully. Or if it does happen I’ve figured out I just need to make my mind go blank as if trying to sleep and lie completely still. Which completely goes against what I want to do, which is throw myself around and scream

That usually makes me wake up fully. It’s so odd, it’s such an awful feeling.
Not strictly a ghost story - but I’ll write about it on this thread anyway because no one ever believes me it’s so strange, but when I was around 17 I had the weirdest thing happen in my sleep. My boyfriend was staying over one night, off we went to sleep and I remember waking up to an awful pulling feeling in my body, as if someone was pulling me upwards from my neck and shoulders really hard. Next thing I know, I’m standing next to the bed and looking down at me and my boyfriend asleep in the bed!
I looked around the bedroom and I can clearly remember looking at everything, my little pink stool and the dressing table next to me, then looking back at myself in the bed and thinking what the hell is going on?! Next thing I know I woke up in the bed. Everyone told me I was dreaming and I probably was, but if so it was the most realistic dream I’ve ever had! It really did not feel like a dream and freaked me out for a while…
