Not 100% sure if this is the right thread for this but I figured I may find some like minded people who have more knowledge than me…

We went to view a house today and they let me film it so I could show my partner as he was working. When we’ve watched the video back the bedroom door (carpeted room) closes on its own whilst I’m inside the room. (Also no windows etc open)

I messaged one of my friends who’s mum is quite spiritual and she said it may be trying to close me in because it likes me and wants me to stay?!

Am I right to be slightly terrified …
How did you feel in the house generally? Any bad vibes?

When I was pregnant 4 years ago, it was a few years after my grandmother passed away & we were really close I’d never ‘sensed’ her since she’d passed but I was getting ready for work & suddenly could smell her so clearly right by me & I burst into tears & my partner was baffled. I told him what happened, anyway this kept happening & I could smell & hear my grandad tapping away alot( he used to tap his fingers on the table all the time) & I thought this is off.. you’re not usually so frequent & often, a few weeks later we miscarried & I was very, very poorly after for the entire time I was in bed & I could feel my Nan around me & my grandad sat on the bed both constantly around me tapping etc
I thought I was going nuts -I’m a believer but it felt very unlike them to be so obvious
Months later my mam was at a spiritual thing that was going on at her pub but she hadn’t gone to it it was happening whilst she was there & the medium called out for her.
my grandparents (her parents) were there holding a baby &told her they were looking after my baby & to let me know there had been there to look after me as I was so poorly(I lost a lot of blood)

anyway.. I’ve lots more but that is one that just always gets me

I’m great thank you ❤ I became pregnant with ny son a few months later & we’re now expecting again 😂
I shared the above as I’d been having a similar experience again a few months ago, my partner as diagnosed with a giloma and everything was just feeling a lot and I was starting to just feel overwhelmed and I kept hearing walking in my sons room and in the hallway below our room (our house is 3 storeys) and my son would often be laughing away to himself and pointing to a corner in his room. So much so my partner actually woke me up one night asking who was in the house. Checked the monitor no one. I’d been having dreams for a few months of walking into the house at home in dublin and my grandparents were in the kitchen trying to talk to me but I couldn’t hear them. So I booked a reading with a medium, second one I’d only ever had and one of the first things she said was (after confirming it was who I thought she was speaking to) my grandad who I named my son after was essentially my sons guardian angel, he is there with him watching over and playing with him.

Well to add context we’ve already put in an offer (housing market is so crazy you have to after one viewing) but I know the agent so they let me go round again and film a better video for my partner as the first one was on an open house and super rushed. On the first viewing the door stayed open but this time it closed itself which makes me wonder, if it’s just a dodgy door why didn’t it the first time? I know there was an elderly couple who lived there who both died (I’m told not actually in the house) and they lived there 63 years from when it was first built. I felt fine in the house although I don’t generally have any spiritual feelings. I just really love the house and want to take care of it but if some of the things I’ve read on this thread start happening I’ll be out of there!! I mostly posted to see if anyone had any understanding on the significance of them closing the door with me inside… does that mean they want us to stay? Or they hate me and want to terrorise us 😂😂

Could you get someone to bless it before you move in? Is that a thing that is still done these days?

I would just say it’s a dodgy door. Maybe it was propped open on the first viewing?
But as someone who is ‘sensitive’ to the energies of a building (but by no means an expert or qualified in any way) and if you want to see it as a sign, I would say it’s a positive one, like the house giving you a ‘hug’ and wanting you to stay. Maybe it was responding to your ‘love’ for the house and knows you want to take care of it.
Although ultimately you have to go with your gut feeling. Xxx

Has anyone else ever had a strange experience in the Scott Monument in Edinburgh?
I have no fear off heights or enclosed spaces, but I completely freaked out in there, ending up having something akin to a panic attack and rushing back down the stairs, screaming at an American tourist who was refusing to get out of my way.
I’ve never been and always had it on my ‘to do’ list. However, worried that something like this might happen, but then again I found walking around the Tower of London highly traumatic, so maybe not 😂😂😂

Back in the 90’s we moved into a fairly new house on a small newish development. One night in the early hours we heard the smashing of glass. Upon inspection a bulb had smashed on the floor from a large hanging light in the hall. The next day I checked the remaining bulbs, they were bayonet fittings that you push in and twist, and they were all secure. That night the same thing happened again. Checked the bulbs again, all secure. The next night a picture fell off the wall in my step-daughter’s bedroom . I am paranoid about pictures falling and was certain the fixture was secure. There was no sign of the fixing being loose. The next night there was another smashing sound. This time a glass had falling from a shelf downstairs. That was it for the strange nightly goings on but I found out not long after that my step daughter had just reached puberty. Apparently that can trigger paranormal activities?
About a year later a neighbour contracted cancer and died after a short illness. Three other couples in the close (including ourselves) divorced within a short space of time after his passing.
I often wonder if anything had happened on the land where the development was built as it seemed to bring bad luck to many of us who lived there.

I'm not sensitive either but I definitely think you can pick up on vibes and energies. Years ago when I was moving house I walked into one property and only got as far as the hall before thinking 'nope, nope, nope' .... didn't like the energy of the house at all.

My parents lived in one house all their married life. Dad is still there (Mum died) so have been in the house 60 years and I can tell you it was full of love and happy memories.

Oh I think anything lingering will be positive but hopefully it was just a dodgy door. Good luck with the move! Great you’ve found a house you love.

Oh my that's amazing! It's beautiful in fact. You must feel really comforted with that. Xxx

I should have added that the light bulbs in the bayonet fittings were facing upwards. To remove them you have to push them down and twist them. How on earth do they become detached from their fittings without human intervention?

I went on my first ghost hunt last night, most haunted were there also as the venue was double booked 🤯 had a great night, contact through tipping tables & boards etc. we had weird tech & “voices” came through. It was interesting, held in a very old prison 👻

This isn’t a ghost story per se but it’s pleasingly creepy and worth sharing-

my dad was an architect and was once surveying a Victorian asylum, in the depth of winter so very dark and gloomy. It had been disused for several years and for the benefit of this story I think he was going round by torch although that doesn’t make sense for surveying so take that with a pinch of salt. Anyway, he entered a room, cast a torch around and saw something in the corner. Took torch back for a better look…..it was a pile of discarded prosthetic limbs.

Just thinking....... The odds must be high of us living in a home that someone has previously died in......
Do you wonder about or know about a previous owner or tenant died in your home? Or would it deter you from moving into a property if you knew the previous occupent died there?
I wonder how people who have inherited the family home now the parents have died feel living there?

My mother saw a banshee when she was younger. She heard a tapping/knocking on her bedroom window and when she pulled back the curtains it was there staring at her 😳 pale face, long black hair and a hat. A few days later her BIL died. I only spoke to her about it recently as it was a story we grew up with and always thought Mom heard the screeching, I think the tapping on the window (not a bungalow) has creeped me out more.

It could be also that the house is uneven. One of my inside doors closes itself because it's uneven.

I think there'll be good energy there as they obviously had a contented life there in the home.
I think homes hold a lot of past energy, they're are where people spend so much of their lives......
I have recurring dreams of the home I grew up in, specifically my old bedroom. The dream never changes and I wish it would. I feel like I'm being subconsciously haunted 😅
I recall some talk from family about the bedroom which may have something to do with the dreams.

My Mum always talked about banshees. I don't think she ever saw one though.

I had a visitor from abroad who grew up in my house. He wanted to show his adult kids his childhood home. He showed me where his auntie died. Everyone has to die somewhere.

I have a very large kitchen but our 2 year old dog often likes to lie on the tiled floor on the exact spot our elderly cat fell asleep and died 10 years ago.

The house myself and my boyfriend (now husband) first moved into together always felt fine but we found out from our neighbours that the old couple that lived there had both died within a month of each other inside the house.
Apparently lovely people so I hope that if their spirits were there then they were fine with us living there and having parties. Never any bad vibes unlike the house I grew up in which had sooo many spirits there
