We have a Dyson floor standing fan in our bedroom which lives against the wall opposite the end of our bed. The fan is operated by a small remote control, and when not in use, it sits on top of the fan with a built in magnet keeping it in place. We've had the fan for about four years, and only use it if there's a heatwave.

My husband and the dog always go to bed really early, and a couple of weeks ago, when I went to bed a couple of hours later, I noticed the fan was on. My husband woke up, and asked if I'd put it on, and I said no, but I'd assumed he had. We switched the fan off thinking it was a bit strange, but didn't really think anything more about it.

Anyway, last night I was watching tv in bed, and husband and dog had got up as he was hungry - they were in the lounge. After I'd been in bed for about an hour watching Aftersun, I suddenly heard the fan come on!
I'd be unplugging that straight away 😲

I wonder if another remote is interacting with it? Years ago we borrowed one of those 'dodgy' boxes pre loaded with films and the remote for that set off the lcd fireplace.

Unplug and recite the Lord's prayer 🙏.

For some reason our tv started turning itself on again after we would turn it off before going to bed, needless to say we outed it and bought a new one that wasn't possessed 🤣

That's a possibility. My mother in law has an issue between her electric fire and TV.

I’m trying to imagine taking a possessed TV to the tip and enjoying seeing the crusher thing destroy it. Though maybe I’d either be relieved, or scared that stuff will escape the TV and chase me :ROFLMAO:

I tried pointing the tv remote control at it, but it just switched the tv off, and the fan didn't do anything - tried it a few times. The fan and the tv are about 2-3 metres apart, with the tv being in the corner at an angle.

I think I've mentioned it on here before about the microwave we used to have. I fell asleep on the settee one night, husband and previous dog were both asleep in the bed, and we live in a flat. Anyway, I woke up about 1am to hear the microwave on, as did my husband. We both thought the other one had put it on, but neither of us had as we'd both been sleeping.

The microwave didn't have a dial control, you had to pick the programme and time you wanted, and then press the start button. After that night we always made a point of flicking the wall switch to off after we used it. This was about four years ago.

The tip kept it because it was still working
Maybe there is some poor terrorised family out there with it 🤣🤣

I don’t know if I said before on this thread, but this happened to me. SEVEN times in one night it turned itself on. It’s an old tv in our kids room now, and when it turns on it make a noise. On the 5th time I threw the controls, thinking I was leaning on them. I was not!

It was scary when it happened especially when I was home alone at night

I’ve just listened to an episode of the Uncanny podcast someone recommended… I had to tuck my feet under the quilt in case someone (or something) grabbed them 😭 Definitely worth a listen if you like supernatural stuff!

The podcast is awesome! I recommend real life ghost stories and the dark paranormal too :)

I’ve had that feeling when I’m trying to wake up out of a bad dream and I’m in my room but the dream is still there. I’ll feel pinned to my bed. It’s not nice but I’ll eventually properly wake up. I think that’s a form of sleep paralysis.
This is what use to happen to me, I lived in a flat that was part of a big house that had been converted into 6 flats, never once did I ever get any bad vibes or feelings from the place but I had the most horrific nightmares. I’m not sure I saw anything but the dreams always were in my bedroom with me on the bed and a feeling of pure evil around me the bed would move and shake and I knew something was in the room with me but not sure wha. I’d wake up but I was still experiencing the exact same situation awake then I would realise in my dream I was still asleep and I’d be trying to scream and shout but nothing would come out I was desperately trying to wake myself up it was terrifying and eventually I would actually wake up properly and but in a state of sheer panic. Then I would be too scared to go back to sleep because every time I drifted off I could feel myself going back into the nightmares and would be frightened I wouldn’t be able to wake up to get out of it. My health really suffered as I was getting very little sleep and the bit I got wasn't peaceful, then my friend moved into the flat as she got a job at the same place I worked, the dreams stopped as soon as she moved in and I haven’t had haven’t had the experience of waking in a dream but still be dreaming since.
If anyone has any theories I’d be more than happy to read them.

I had a similar thing happen to me I had a tower fan and I used to put it on every night (yes I’m one of those who have to sleep with a fan on lol) and it used to wake me up going crazy going from different speed settings.. used to turn itself off and on again, used to randomly come on if I wasn’t in the room and then would just change it’s settings on its own and start spinning even though I always had it on static lol. Freaked out I was so I got rid of it 🤣

I hadnt thought about this for a while and it's popped back in to my head as we are talking about moving again
When I moved in with my husband to our fist home together for the first few days I felt a little boys presence with me I never saw him but somehow I knew it was a little boy aged about 5 or 6 after a few days he seemed to leave, i didnt think much more of it until we moved to our next property and I felt him around me again, only for a few days then he left this happened 2 more times again when we moved in to a new property
I was never scared it was actually quite comforting to feel his presence with me
I wonder if he will appear next time we move on

My house is haunted not in a creepy way a strange way. I’ve seen people walking from my stairs into my front room out the corner of my eye. Someone sits on my bed at night every now and again while i’m asleep you feel the mattress dip. One time I saw my grandad stood at the bottom of my bed, I’ve never met him, he died before I was born I was only told who it was when I described him to my mum. And occasionally you hear footsteps upstairs when I’m sat in my living room.

Omg, does that not freak you out at all?? Think I would launch myself out the window if I felt someone sitting on my bed randomly and saw figures walking about.

At first it did, I’m use to it now. Once I heard a woman’s voice say oh Joan in a disappointing tone. I’d love to find out who’s around.
