So wills mum lives alone in a large house owned by her deceased but separated husband
and the family of 4 live in a renovated mews/ shed at the bottom of the gorden

well I’d say Triona is not happy about that!
Exactly. I'd say she's raging. I'm certain she had her eye on the big house from the start. She wasn't long in the mews when she started referring to it as "My house". And used to refer to the Dad as living "next door" but used the garden and the steps of the big house for photoshoots galore. I wondered how Wills brothers felt about it, this wan swooping in and practically laying claim to it.

There's not a chance they would have the money to buy the big house, I don't think they've got that much money at all, pre pandemic they never went on holidays together, Triona would go on her junkets and the odd time Will would follow her over for a freebie weekend. The kids Never got to go on any holidays bar down to the Granny in Cork. The closest the kids got to a day out for themselves was a freebie trip to Funtasia a few years back. Gifted of course. It would be alien to her to purchase air fares for her family so the kids get to see her swan off all over the place but get no holidays themselves. My kids are around the same age and the first thing they want to do when this pandemic is over is go on holidays as we've had to cancel 2 already. (well it was the same one rescheduled, I don't think anybody thought this time last year we'd be in the same scenario)

I'm curious about the drinking - Sophie White (her sister in law) has been very vocal about her own struggles with alcohol, etc. I wonder if it's a topic that can't be broached with Triona? Difficult one to bring up, especially when kids are involved.

My opinion would always be if you can't have one or two drinks and just leave it at that, there's a problem brewing there somewhere.

I noticed Triona follows Sophie on insta but It doesn’t look like Sophie follows her or is it another Instagram glitch?

I had no idea Sophie White was her SIL.

I read her piece in last weekend’s Sunday magazine. It was harrowing, so bare, so truthful.

would never have made the connection with TMC

Yeah, Will and Sophie's husband are brothers. Nice men by the looks of things to be honest!

She was always very fond of a drink - or ten. I can imagine that what we see posted publicly is only part of it. And given the poor kids know to tell her when she's drunk speaks volumes. I don't know how she can look back on posts like that in the sober light of day and think she's a good role model?

Sophie bugs me to a degree. I think she's very brave to write literally every aspect of her life in public, mental health issues etc but this latest one of "I'm an alcoholic" seems to be just another wagon to hitch to. That might sound dismissive but she says she still drinks occasionally and has wine with food? I've known alcoholics, family and friends and there's no on/off switch. You either drink or you don't. And if she truly thinks she has a problem then she shouldn't be drinking at all because she'll know it'll get out of hand.

Some interesting points which all make sense. She pays ridiculous amount on designer clothes & shoes which could be invested wisely into her own home or children’s education (I know she receives all the gifted goods ). Her husband seems nice, her children far to exposed on social media.

Did she say she still drinks? I thought she had to completely cut it and be sober - goes to AA etc? I really enjoy her podcasts, Im fairly sure she's mentioned before that she can't drink

I'm sure I read she still drinks some wine with food, and it was only recently in the past couple of weeks since the book has been promo'd in every media publication..I'll go rooting and see can I find it.

Apart from her clothing on depop I don't know if she does sell on much of the gifted stuff. I was in her apartment in Ballsbridge years ago and it was stuffed to the gills with gifts and promo stuff - beauty products from every brand imaginable literally stacked up in every press. This was pre influencer days though, all she needed was enough to pay her rent and socialise. At that time she was doing lots of TV3 work and before Will became her chauffeur, TV3 cars were her main mode of transport. She's not like us mere mortals who have to budget for a car + tax/insurance or buying an annual leap card. The volume of stuff she gets sent these days is unreal, but then usually the kids unbox them and are getting their paws all over them. I'd say most of the make up is gone with Mini plastering it on herself, be hard to sell on some of the half used stuff. Although watch this space, she might end up selling the gifted bed as it's only in a spare room;), Where that spare room is though is a mystery, that mews they're in is TINY. Wouldn't be surprised if she has it displayed in the big house next door.
Know for fact 100% sold. Just don't know channel its done through . Not only her others too . To be honest I didn't want to know how . Its none of my concern but its done .

I can't find it, but it could perhaps be an article behind a paywall, there's a couple that I can't access, yet I know I read maybe 2 or 3 articles about this in the past week. It stuck with me because I thought of it as either disingenous or not fully owning up to the issue. Jesus, I would have considered myself a heavy drinker in my 20s and had a few scary moments with blackouts etc but never did I think I was an alcoholic, or monetise my experiences by labelling myself so. Maybe it's an Irish vision of alcoholism, sometime I nearly laugh when I read about a US actor/actress/tv pesonalites who labels themselves alcoholics when it seems they barely drink. I suppose everyones experience is subjective.

I'm sure it is, I'd safely say if something is worth selling then it's carefully unboxed when the kids aren't there. With the amount free stuff sent it's hardly surprising.

So I see now why they are renovating the kitchen and bathroom. No chance of moving into the ‘Big House’!

A friend of mine had to deliver something to her before and said her mews is just a fancy garden shed. We have garages at the back of our houses, built in 40s that are bigger.

Can you imagine the mooching she would do if she was to finally get her hands on it? It would be non stop begging and collabs with interiors etc.
And 100% she would want a wine cellar.

Interesting about Sophie; that question has been bugging me since reading the article..." is she still drinking ? No where did it mention that she had stopped.. I hope I'm wrong but if she is still drinking it merits social work involvement. The story of her passed out alone on couch with three young kids upstairs is alarming.

Are you serious!! She sells all the free stuff she gets??
I'm shook😳
My friends daughter lives in west Cork and she told me she sells her stuff there, think her mother sells it for her. This is the stuff she doesn’t sell on Depop, the pr drops etc.

I’m a recovering alcoholic and I attend regular AA meetings…… if Sophie is still drinking even a small amount and has publicly stated this while also publicly stating she attends AA meetings then she needs to keep her mouth shut……AA has saved so many lives and is the most important thing in members lives and not a source of income

I still can't find it, it's bugging me. It has me wondering if it was a previous article prior to the book launch. There was definitely a few that spoke of alcohol rather than the big confession last week. This is one of the reasons I dislike a lot of istagrammers etc, they say one thing - then the wind changes and they're saying the opposite.
In saying all that I also noticed she didn't allude to any treatment or attendance of any meetings in the excerpts that were released to the media. Like yourself, the vast majority of people who own their alcoholism seek out treatment and recovery. Perhaps it's a ploy to get more sales of the book.
