lol no I don't! I follow his stylist on Instagram since she styles some other celebs I like and she posted that she was doing the Cartier shoot/Jimmy Fallon with Tom at the Corinthia on Monday. He was also wearing the same blue cable knit sweater in the Loki promos and Tomblr and both of those were done on Monday so I just made the connection.
See this level of commitment is the reason why I don't know enough gossip 😁

Yes but Tom mentioned, a long time ago, that he wanted kids eventually. Was is just publicity? To win the girls' hearts?? Or maybe he changed his mind because he realised having kids in this world may not be the most reasonable thing to do? Or maybe the timing was never right...
A lot of maybes here.
About this ET thing I am with yupps on this one because of this: how come, if such a news was out in an official media, it did not spread as fast as, for example, the pictures at the vet? Which were taken down pretty quickly (but once it's on Internet, it never goes away)...
I have to admit though ladies you make my vacation more fun, I feel I am participating to a police investigation with all of you!
Because teenagers watch Twitter, IG and Facebook more than the 7 pm 'news'----> JK
Maybe he still want kids but not just now? I'm with the OP that stated that the guy's have a different internal clock. They can procreate well in their 70s/80s. We, females, do not.

Tom is 40, he hasn't had a real long term relationship yet it seems, which I consider a red flag. So, he can be lucky that a woman as stunning, intelligent and seemingly devoted as Zawe would want to be with him
Didnt he have a really long relationship before he got really famous, but that was years ago. I agree he should be so lucky to have Zawe!

Also, the woman who used to post about Tom on tattle before she mysteriously disappeared said he used to call TS a see you next Tuesday, was clearly very unhappy and as a person wasn't to be told - I wonder if he was very scorned by her leaving the agreement early, leaving him to look, well completely foolish??
Are you referring to the infamous mischievous mystery? Because I don't remember her telling he made any comment about TS, on the contrary she said it was an off limit topic with him.

And by the way, nobody is gonna talk about the fact that TH is into anal??! On the first night?? *prude mode activated* 🤣
Are you even a woman, Strippervicar? 🤔😆

My "career defining" remark was about the feeling I had that he really tried to build a career outside of the mcu and it never really took off (like so many marvel actors, I find). And of course he is successful and has a certain security with this role (loki), but he doesn't (or didn't) strike me as the man who would settle for a safe job, more as a man who would relentlessly try to do something new, to keep things exciting. But I guess we all have to pay the bills, in the end. And keep doing this job you don't really enjoy anymore is better than disappearing from the public eye. All if my interpretations are pure conjecture, of course.
My mistake if I expressed myself the wrong way before.
I have to say I am looking forward to the loki show though, because it seems we will see more of his comedy side, which is nice.
No you expressed yourself perfectly. I'm not a fan of his so dont know that much about him really outside of Marvel and The Night manager. Maybe he would rather do other things but he looks so different as Loki that shouldn't be too hard of he wanted to. I think more of the problem is that he is yet another posh British bloke in acting. It's a crowded market!

Benedict Cumberbatch has got a group of the most bonkers fans imaginable. They are absolutely vile about his wife and refuse to believe his three kids exist. If I were him I think I would be quite worried about my families safety.
I only dipped my toe into this rabbit hole but it was enough to make me feel absolutely shaken. I cannot believe the things they've said about his wife/kids.
He has a restraining order, doesn't he? I suspect he has some kind of injunction out to protect them too as the press in the UK never print pictures of him and his family out and about even though they live in London.
I hope he does. It's absurd that someone was violating his privacy in his own home. And with all this nonsense about fake kids, he'd be smart to protect them by any means possible.

I wish all celebs would protect their families' privacy instead of exploiting their kids like some do.

He finished shooting The Essex Serpent about a week ago so he could have come to Wimbledon if he wanted. He was busy on Monday doing Tomblr, Jimmy Fallon, a shoot for Cartier at the Corinthia Hotel and some Loki promo videos so he was chockablock. Still no reason not to come to Wimbledon over the weekend though? And what do you mean new relationship? He’s been with Zawe for 2 and a half years now I think.

They were doing reshoots recently but Tom wrapped about a week ago.
Do you have access to his agenda?? Cause I am very interested in that!! 😆

I would hope so, but you wonder if there's a market for it who's using it? As I said not implying she does. That was only one company I came across I'm sure there are countless others. It's one of those ones you'd love to be a fly on the wall to find out who does use them
A lot of casting directors and studios apparently ask actors how many social media followers they have as part of the casting, which is stupid imo and many good actors dont have social media, but I suppose if studios are casting on the basis of social media followers instead of purely auditions then you cant really blame people if it's a choice between job or no job.

I couldn't even finish it, the way it's written is appalling!

Feel a bit sorry for TH, he always seemed likeable enough but I think he'll forever be tainted with his Swift encounter
Drivel isn't it. It's so ridiculously fawning and over the top it's like he wrote it himself 😂

I think it's just the cycle of the way things go. They idolise complete strangers, develop some weird narrative in their head about what they are like and what they should do based on nothing but some publicity interviews and pap pics, all of which are curated by other people ( usually journo's and PR people). Then their idol does something they don't like ( usually has a relationship with someone who is not who the fans think they should be having a relationship with- not their co-star etc, their illusions are shattered and they turn against their idol. The reason they are not doing what they should be doing is because they are a commitment phobe/ gay/ being forced into doing something and then their idol falls off the pedestal because they are a normal person with their own agency and right to have relationships with whoever they like and are not doing what the fans want them to do.
Most celebrities, Tom and Benedict included, are completely different as what we think

Now, if I wanted kids and my significant other didn't, it'd probably be a deal breaker. I don't think you can reach a consensus in that particular subject.
It's a definite deal breaker. But if both of them want kids, I doubt career would delay them at their age.

That’s a really strange life they have, these famous people. I wonder how much drama schools can prepare them for this side of the business.
I couldn't agree more about the politician role, it would be nice to see him in a "modern" role. I've never had the opportunity to watch the night manager, but I enjoyed high rise ; it would be nice to see more of that.
The Night Manager is good, you should watch it! I don't think drama schools prepare them at all. I know quite a few people who went to drama school and the vast, vast majority don't get anywhere near being famous.

I think he'd have been better off admitting Taylor was a PR stunt rather than pretending it was real.

Also just realised the GQ cringe piece was originally titled 'We ♥ T.S.' - bet he loved that!!! 😐

Well, if we wanted to get to know famous people, we should have chosen a profession in show business, then the opportunity would have been greater for meeting someone. And, of course, to work for the corresponding studio. Most people don't work in such professions.
I disagree, though. You don't HAVE to be in the showbiz to date a Celebrity. Look at, for example, Matt Damon's wife. She was a bartender. George Clooney's, an attorney.
Granted they are NOT as common as dating within the set but it's possible.
However, the distinction has to be placed between fantasizing with a celebrity and a potential hook-up/ relationship and them OWING you to date you and no one else.
That's where the DELUSION start playing a huge part.
Like no! Just because you happen to meet someone famous that you like, who at the end of the day is a mere mortal that crosses the street like you or me, that doesn't mean you are entitled to ANYTHING not even a photo or an autograph. They owe you NADA. Chances are that, unless you are in a private setting, they won't even acknowledge what you look like.

I see some people [...]

Zawe was also at the vet in Atlanta that they took Bobby to when he swallowed a raisin and got sick. [...]
See that's what I find a bit creepy, how do people even know those things? And the amount of detail! I do not blame them for keeping their live ultra private. Also relationships are often difficult as it is so I can't imagine dealing with life in the public eye.

Also what's with this excessive running? I even saw some footage of him running to the set in dress shoes. In know some people in real life who also run every day but they openly admit it's over the top but the only way they can manage their mental health problems.

Poor Tom looks so confused when the cast of Kong are singing the theme tune for Pokemon
I am Tom and Tom is me. Never in my LIFE heard the Pokemon song! Before you start throwing tomatoes at me for that. Over here the cartoon series started airing in 1999/2000s, and I was well in my high school years. ALSO, they were translated in spanish.
I was today's years old when I first heard that song!
In my defense, growing up, the only cartoons I ever actually liked or watched were Sailor Moon, Silverhawks, Thundercats and Jem and the Holograms.
Other than that, I was more into sitcoms like Pete & Pete, Clarissa explains it all, Are you afraid of the dark, Clueless, etc
(Damn I'm old)

Thank you💙 haha after writing this I dreamed if going to the doctor. And Clara it's amazing she had a child at 45. Both my grandma’s did that too but it was unintended.

The video of Tom looking confused to the song made my morning. I'm cracking up. How has he not heard that song? I thought everyone and their mother was forced to hear it at some point. It is adorable. 🥺
Best of lucks with the treatment!!!! Sending you all the positive vibes! 🙌

I was the other way never wanted kids then suddenly did. A friend is having her first at 45!! I think as LetMeRamble said anything is in the realms of possibility with TH and Zawe.

If there's no compromise then yes it's a deal breaker. Most A listers wouldn't know the struggle of juggling a full time job, wrap around care, out of school activities, family time, social life (a dim and distant memory), running a house (why have they not invented self cleaning houses yet?) and sleep (I think I remember what 8 hours sleep feels like..), they are extremely lucky to be able to afford lots of help.
You can't really compromise on that! It's a recipe for resentment. Agree they would hardly have to worry about getting back to the childminder on time. I just dont think that would be a reason why, if they have split, it would be because Tom wanted kids and she doesn't. Anyway, It's funny how this thread has gone from 'are Tom and Zawe a couple? to ' Have they split up because they can't agree about having children?' in about 2 pages ;)

I can’t see him as Bond, he wants it too badly. I really think the hot Duke from Bridgerton is going to get it, he’d be my choice anyway

Chelseadaggar, I thank you for your input and thoughts. My husband acts much younger (people often think he's early 30s and his friends are all in their late 20s) and is in decent shape but I still worry about stuff like you mentioned especially as he reaches his 50s.

I don't want to hijack this thread more about kids but wanted to say thanks and also that I totally get why someone would not want kids too. I see both sides of it.

I felt bad for Tom being forced to stay only bc it seems very lonely to be stuck in a random city for a year. Sure he knows Atlanta but it isn't home. And there's a 5 hour time differance from home too. I remember thinking I felt bad for him when I first heard it. I think at least the US based actors could probably at least drive home if they really wanted.

Granted he made a ton of money off it I'm sure but still. Maybe it wasn't as bad for him as I think. I hope not.
I think everyone found lockdown hard as it changed everyone's plans and made or broke a lot of relationships. Yes the money probably made it a lot easier but I think there was probably a professional impact too maybe with other projects being cancelled or moved. I read a bit of blind gossip saying that Tom wanted to get his contract changed so he could have Botox etc...... if it's true I hope he doesn't do it as he has such an expressive face.

I think it was just cringey/embarrassing. He was a serious Shakespearean actor who wanted to do drama (as well as Loki) and all of a sudden he was in a relationship with someone like Taylor who everyone thought writes songs for teenagers and it just didn't match his serious image. They were far too public with their publicity stunt, the pictures were so staged and he even got his mother, sister and niece involved in it, he invited paps to all corners of the world to take pictures of him and Taylor being affectionate in strategically romantic locations. Then there was the I heart TS t shirt debacle and that awkward picture of Ryan & Blake and him and Taylor being weirdly affectionate, it was all just a total onslaught of 'romance' and it felt out of place. Everyone poked fun at him for it and he dropped off the radar for a year to deal with the fallout, he said he was taking a year out to focus on himself. Taylor was dating her current boyfriend Joe Alwyn while she was with (or doing a publicity stunt with, if you want to see it that way) Tom and she ended up writing a song about him.

The insane attention Tom got during that time, most of it negative, I feel like it traumatised him and resulted in him having a very negative view of the media. Now he never answers personal questions in interviews and his publicist tells journalists they can't ask him about Taylor since 5 year later that's still the topic everyone wants to ask him about. It damaged his reputation as a serious actor and I think it's just another example of a showmance gone wrong. The GQ profile piece also didn't help, it was meant to be damage limitation/reinvention or just to explain his side of the story but it made him look desperate and insecure. The journalist seemed to think he was weird and clingy/needy, he kept her until late babbling and trying to explain himself and then the next day, early in the morning, went to her hotel room (house?) to explain himself all over again and make sure she understood what he'd said. Some of his fans have speculated that he suffers from depression or low mood sometimes and the Hiddleswift situation exacerbated that. His publicist and management clearly thought that he was toxic after the debacle and wanted him to lie low for a while, I think he also wanted to do that too.

I think he's doing the kinds of jobs he wants to do. I'm looking forward to The Essex Serpent since I loved the book but it's a shame White Stork has been shelved. I thought a politician role would be perfect for him and would be a return to gritty drama after Loki. He doesn't touch his Instagram and I think he's scared off PR relationships for life after Taylor.

And I should also mention that the journalist who did the aforementioned GQ profile piece was photographed by paps giving him a goodbye hug outside his house and referred to as a 'mystery girl.' She was married and Tom had to call her up to apologise and hoped her husband wasn't offended by it.
That’s a really strange life they have, these famous people. I wonder how much drama schools can prepare them for this side of the business.
